FAQ: What deck is that? It's a $40 deck I got from the Rare Ant skate shop on Taobao.com. Not sure if they ship outside of China. I know this video was kind of sloppy but I just needed to get it done and move on. Another direct drive board coming up.

Oh Dan.... my Revel lasted about 80kms then shit it’s self, it would cut out constantly. It was off the road for about two months until Revel emailed me with a fix. Cut the overheat cut off wires, that worked for about a week, now it turns its self off and I have to disconnect the battery and reconnect it to get it to turn on. I emailed Revel saying I’m over it I’m writing it off, 1300 AUD down the toilet... it’s a shame because it’s a really great concept. I’ll probably go with Wowgo or Exway next.. I have an Evolve GTR but an electric skateboard should not weigh over 10kgs so I never use it.... 😔

Is there any kind of adapter to get the 105mm clouds to fit? Do you think 100mm wheels like yours would be safe enough to ride in Brooklyn/ Manhattan? :) Also would direct drive get damaged on the streets in NYC and Brooklyn or should I be concerned about them scraping off curbs, cracks, etc?

Glad I found ur channel .. my meepo wheels are almost to the hub no tread left on them tryna find affordable replacement. From what I’ve researched on what’s new since my last purchase it seems belt drive is the way to go . So this kit is much cheaper than buying a complete direct drive board. My meepo went 26 mph at first it was “too” fast but after getting used to it I want more speed. The top speed on these is about 29? Is it a very noticeable difference?

@sadabnyc4 жыл бұрын
if you go back and watch some of his videos where he mentioned it, he explains its bcs of the thin layer of urethane between the motors and the ground. It is not a complete wheel. So extra vibrations and you feel the bumps more. That being said, I did order a hub motor board(Meepo V3 ER) as my daily driver and I also ordered the Revel kit for more fun experimental builds.

@DanielKwan4 жыл бұрын
@@Rveng4 Nope. Revel kit uses 1/2" risers so I guess they can accept pretty big wheels. Their remote allows you to select wheel size up to 110mm so I would guess that's their recommended size limit.
@Rveng44 жыл бұрын
@@DanielKwan aside from wheel bite, you cant go less from 85 (ground clearance for direct drives) and you could go bigger having the effect off greater top speed and less range, acceleration and braking. (so specially not recomended to go bigger than 90 on the smaller battery)

Meh, this review is mediocre. The kit does look sick though, and I did order the 4x4 option with extended battery. Unfortunately, they do not offer any extended warranty for, get this, orders over $1k. Super bizarre policy, and that will translate to be having about a 3 month warranty by the time the product and the time left I the dry season(PNW). I have a lot of concerns about longevity, but still going for it, with hopes the company will help me out if something happens. Also, customer service was almost completely nonexistent at first. It took almost two weeks for them to respond via email, and they do not provide a phone number. Time will tell.

Thanks Daniel. Makes sense! I've never tried belt as yet so will need to give that a try one day. Although I have just upgraded to the Teamgee H20T with the 103mm rubber wheels and it seems to perform pretty well so far. Definitely makes sense what you say as this is much more comfortable than my previous hub with smaller PU wheels. Only day 3 so far so time will tell. Have chosen hubs mainly for convenience of not having to look after / maintain and no snapped belts etc
