Review: Bugera Trirec Infinium

They don't make these anymore, but the Bugera Trirec Infinium is still a monster of an amp, and it's pretty inexpensive!

Bought one 2 years ago from MF. Truly a remarkable amp and, arguably, the best value one can find. According to many on the interwebs, initial production had some QC issues that were resolved thereafter. One (at least) of my 12AX7s just went...excited to replace those and power tubes with JJs, EHXs or TungSols. Might try mixing 6L6s and EL34s...still undecided. Great video!

Thanks for watching! From what I understand, yes the initial line of a lot of their amps (this is like a decade ago now) had some serious electrical problems, but they were resolved in the newer line. Basically, if the model you're looking at has "Infinium" in it, it's the fixed ones.

Hi, thanks for the demo. Seems a little compressed (of course Mesa...) but for AC/DC , guns, Van Halen, do you believe is a good alternative or maybe the 1990? Thanks man.

Not sure about AC/DC, but Van Halen you’re gonna want the 6262 which is their 5150, and for Guns N’ Roses you’re gonna want the 1960 which is their plexi. If I had to guess, I’d say the 1960 is probably also pretty close to what AC/DC was using

Yessir, they stopped a few years ago with this model. They still make a lot of other great amp copies, but this one is only available on the used market. If you can find one though, I definitely recommend it!

Rumor was that they were working on their version of the Mesa mark IV, but that never got put out, so I'm not sure

I own this Amp and it is truely great but I have a problem with the footswitch. It used to save the individual settings (Reverb ON/OFF, Boost ON/OFF, FX-Loop ON/OFF) for all 3 channels but suddenly it stopped working. Now it only lets choose these settings for all of the three channels combined and not for any channel individually. Does anyone have the same problem and/or knows how to fix it? Is there maybe a function on the amp to control that? The problem is basically that it doesn't save the settings for the individual channels.

Wish I could help man, but I bought this amp second hand and unfortunately it didn’t come with the foot switch

There is a rotary selector switch on the back next to the FX send/return levels that determines how the reverb and FX loop behave. You should check to see what setting it's at because at one of the settings the footswitch is defeated and the amp "remembers" whether these are on or off for each individual channel.

Kamis I don’t have any personal experience with the Laney so I can’t say for sure. That being said, I highly doubt you’d be disappointed with the trirec
