Friends I just used the bleeder for the 2nd time today and I am even more impressed with it. When used in conjunction with the Genesis bottle there is absolutely no mess, I didn't spill a drop. Not to mention it is fun to watch considering all the struggles in the past I have suffered attempting to bleed brakes

@@zyairedemetrius1214 Yes I have noticed that on some vehicles it is very slow. Sometimes the flow is little more than a trickle. I think it might have something to do with the ABS system. Thanks for watching.

@@richardspaulding5035 Hi Richard! I noticed your comment about slow flow and I experienced the same thing on a 2016 Ford Escape. On the left rear, it started to flow into the bottle and after about 1/2 inch, it just stopped flowing. Went to right rear, started to flow and then stopped. I’ve seen a lot of videos where they show this device working with ABS and they all flowed good . Not sure what the issue is.

@@stuzman52 I think it depends on if the ABS system is a closed system or open system. With an open system it can be blead as normal, with a closed system you need a special scan tool to instruct the cars computer to bleed the air out of the ABS separately, your dealer can tell you what type of system you have. I called my local Nisan dealer to find out what sort of system I had on my Rouge as they were happy to tell me.

@Richard Spaulding Thanks Richard for the reply as I appreciate it. I have a subscription to AllData for this vehicle and thought it might be a good idea to take a look to see what the service information was regarding a brake flush/bleed. There were two things that caught my eye which neither pertained to the ABS system and may help someone else who has this particular vehicle. I posted the first point of interest below which is that Ford wants the system to be pressurized from 30-50 psi. _ NOTE: Master cylinder pressure bleeder adapter tools are available from various manufacturers of pressure bleeding equipment. Follow the instructions of the manufacturer when installing the adapter. Install the bleeder adapter to the brake master cylinder reservoir and attach the bleeder tank hose to the fitting on the adapter. Use the General Equipment: Brake/Clutch System Pressure Bleeder/Filler NOTE: Make sure the bleeder tank contains enough clean, specified brake fluid to complete the_ bleeding operation._ *Open the valve on the bleeder tank and apply 207-345 kPa (30-50 psi) to the brake system.* And the second point was bleeding the rear brakes which has the integral parking brake system. _Vehicles with rear integral parking brake calipers NOTE: Due to the complexity of the fluid path within the rear integral parking brake calipers, it is necessary to apply and release the parking brake during the bleed procedure._ *Apply and release the parking brake 5 times.* _Loosen the bleeder screw. Loosen: 180° Leave open until clear, bubble-free fluid flows and then tighten the bleeder screw to specification. Refer to: Specifications (206-00 Brake System - General Information, Specifications) . Repeat as necessary._ It's cold as the dickens right now and will try the above steps when it warms up! Thanks again for the reply Richard!

Great review. I have heard that pressure bleeding can get the most air out of the lines (and sometimes abs pump) than other bleeding methods e.g. traditional 2 man way or vacuum.

Thanks Farseer for you comment, not only that but it flushes out the old dirty stuff as well. It is kinda fun to watch as the fluid gets clearer as you bleed. Lots of times it is hard to find someone to help me out in the garage, My son and my wife always complain lol, Now I can bleed by myself.

Friends; I failed to mention this bleeder cannot be used with most Toyota products. Any master cylinder that has a push on cap like the modern Toyota cannot use this bleeder. For this bleeder all master cylinders must have a twist on cap that locks in place

The reason for the rather long outlet hose from the bottle is to facilitate use away front the car so you don’t run the risk of spilling fluid in the engine bay and/or on the paint. So the long hose is not a “stupid thing”!
@richardspaulding5035
@richardspaulding5035 4 жыл бұрын
Yes thanks, I realize that. I was just annoyed that the hose was in my way. The reason I wanted to respond is because of an incredible coincidence. I had not had a comment on that video in 8 months and had not used the device for almost a year until this afternoon when I had to blead a caliper. It was kinds spooky to see the comment when I came in from using it. It is almost like you could see me in my garage today. I think I might play the lottery lol. thanks for your comment and watching my channel.

I left a cap and hose coiled up in a plastic box the gasket got soft I think the brake fluid caused it. I would buy some extra gaskets for the screw on lid.

When I am done using the power bleeder, I hang the master cylinder adaptor I used up high with the hose still connected. I then let it drain back into the tank overnight. The next day I empty any fluid remaining in the tank and put the unit away. That is not a bad idea to have extra gaskets on hand. Thanks

Did you have brake fluid spill all over when you disconnected the adapter from the master cylinder?
@richardspaulding5035
@richardspaulding5035 Жыл бұрын
No, you need to relive the pressure by slowly loosening the cover on the tank before removing the adaptor from the master cylinder. you might lose a drop or two but nothing more.

Did you add the quick coupler or it came with it? What's the size if you installed?
@richardspaulding5035
@richardspaulding5035 4 жыл бұрын
That came with the kit , The kits are offered in different sizes the cheapest around 60 dollars comes with 1 adaptor. There is a 100 dollar version that is available with a few adaptors and the version I purchased as seen in the video comes with all the adaptors for 150 dollars.

***Warning*** I ordered this bleeder kit from Motive in Norton Shores Michigan. They took the money out of my bank right away. 79.54 , then sent me a confirmation number in an email. When I tried to track the number the next day the tracking did not work. Tried to call them and all of their mailboxes were full. Tried to email them with no response. did this for 5 day's with no response. Didn't answer there phones, or answer my emails. I turned it in to my bank. I will never order anything from them again! Hope this helps someone out before they get taken also.

Sounds like you may have hit a scam site. It happened to me last year on a different product. Was a scam site that looked all the world to be legit. Took my money and had pretty much the same experience as you.

I have had a motive power bleeder for three years. I bought the billet thinking they would be better. So far every adapter has failed. Great idea but very poor quality.

I have been very happy with the Motive Power Bleeder. However, since my retirement it has had only occasional use in my home shop. I do not know how it would hold up under everyday use.

@@richardspaulding5035 I do not use it every day. It is my home shop as well. I purchased billet adapters and plastic adapters. I thought the billet would be better. So far all of the Ford adapters have had problems. Sometimes I can get them to work if I do not go over 10 lbs of pressure. The adapters are tight and feel like there should be no problem but fail every time. Within thirty seconds of applying pressure you can hear the seal break and watch brake fluid spewing from the adapter. Like I said it is a great idea but the quality has been lacking.
