I've had my machine for about 6mo but was afraid to take it out of the box. Now it's on my list of things to do. Thanks for the excellent demo.

Thanks Phil, I just got this machine and this is exactly the type of video I was looking for!! Appears I was not putting enough espresso in the handle, which is why mine weren't coming out correctly. Thank you for showing me how to use all the features!!

I’ve had this machine for 3 years and has been a great learner machine for home! Definitely gotten its use out of it! Helps save money and great for crazy holiday season to avoid chains and long lines. Literally amazing but difficult to find much information on it as it’s not very popular. Be careful if you ever need a new portafilter as it’s very specific. My handle finally is giving out on the portafilter it came with. Love this machine! And paired it with the coffee grinder

Glad you've been happy with your machine! I agree it's a great entry-level way to make espresso at home. Thanks for the tip about the portafilter, I'll keep that in mind!

Can it make latte art work? Most machines can’t get the milk properly steamed.

What happens when my water light is blinking and the esspresso is dripping too slowly?
@ReviewedByPhil Жыл бұрын
If the coffee puck is too dense or packed too tightly, it can cause the water light to blink and prevent water from exiting the portafilter. You can try adjusting to a larger grind size, remove some of the grounds, or tamp with less pressure (or some combination of all three). If using the Double-wall basket, the exit hole may be clogged and you can clear it with the included cleaning pin tool.

I have a question you know that top part of the machine that gets messed up after 1 cup of espresso how do i stop that from happening?
@ReviewedByPhil Жыл бұрын
Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean by messed up. Are you referring to the grounds inside the portafilter basket (11:05)? You'll have to clean those out after each brew by tapping it firmly over a disposal container.

I just got the machine, and it doesn't make foam properly. After a while, it reaches boiling temperature, and the milk starts to boil, even though I used cold milk and tried it twice.
@ReviewedByPhil4 ай бұрын
If your milk is simply heating up and not creating foam, this generally indicates that you are not incorporating enough air because the wand is sunk too deep in the pitcher. Try to keep the tip of the nozzle where the steam comes out just below the surface of the milk and hold the pitcher at an angle so that the steam pressure creates a nice vortex/whirlpool (see 6:23), this will pull more air down into the milk to create micro bubbles and thus produce foam. For most folks that haven't done this before, it takes a bit of practice and might get a bit messy. It took me about a dozen cups of steamed milk to get the milk to heat and foam the way I wanted it to, and even though my technique in this video isn't "barista quality," I am now able to make steamed milk good enough for my personal consumption.
@mahsafakhari57134 ай бұрын
@@ReviewedByPhil Absolutely right, my problem was the position of the steam nozzle. Now I have better foam, and it definitely takes a bit of practice. It makes a very loud and annoying noise during this time, but it's short. I used to have an automatic frother, which was much easier, but this method requires more practice. Thanks for your explanation.

The more expensive model 6503 (this being 6403) has a metal body as well as being a bit quieter. 6503 also has 5 years warranty as opposed to 2 years. At least in Europe.

What's the water temp for espresso? 2 sensors, but no way to know the water temp. Kitchen Aid reps couldn't say.
