Agree re: The Road. It’s a read once bleak fest. Will now read Artemis; off your recommendation. Thank you

Great overview of what you've read. Only familiar with Elantris.

@@NevsBookChannel True, although The Losers is alien to me, and will probably remain that way 😉

Artemis is definitely on my TBR list, I loved his other books. read Flowers for Algernon so many years ago and enjoyed it but you are right, it is a sad book. Maybe I'll try to find the short story. I liked the Road and mostly can't read McCarthy's other books because of the violence. The book where you mention Reed college, not sure where it is in the book (WA state you said) but it is actually in Oregon (as am I). I quite liked Elantris also. Many people seem to rank it lower in Sanderson's output but I enjoyed the way all the parts came together in the end. What are you reading next?

Oh! I see, I didn't realise Portland is just over the border in Oregon. Most of the book is in Washington. That's my bad US geography for you. I just finished Beyond the Fall of night (hated it) and started Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow (loving it!) What are you reading?

Im really trying to get through my first Brandon Sanderson book, just the Final Empire. I’ve tried like 3-4 times before. I decided the only way o can do it is with a spoilers free podcast I read Algernon in high school and I love it and it breaks my heart. It was around the same time o was reading a lot of vonnegut

I reckon if it doesn’t click with you, don’t bother with it. Not everyone likes Sanderson. Sounds like you’re more of a sci-fi guy!
