Today on Quinton Reviews we talk about politics... in a sense. I've always been fascinated by fictional Presidents and fake Presidents of TV and Film, from Independence Day to Monsters vs Aliens all the way to Cory in the House, and I started thinking... Hey, that's a pretty good idea for a video! I'll mess it up somehow, but at least the concept is good. :)

Here’s a theory: Americans didn’t like either Bush or Kerry, so they elected the third party candidate Martínez as a way to shake up the system, try something new. However, the ineptitude of his administration led to Americans returning to an established party by electing Obama for things to return to some normalcy. Fun fact, Hannah Montana was repurposed from a backdoor pilot from That's so Raven. The Plot followed a famous actress who goes to middle school because she wants to live a normal life and have a normal childhood. The show was never picked up but they later retooled it to be a singer living a double life because she wanted to live a normal life thus giving you Hannah Montana.

One of my favourites, just because of the weird side-effects of it, is Doctor Who's President Arthur Coleman Winters. He was the "President Elect" of america in 2008, who was, for some reason, in charge of First Contact with the Toclafane. He was killed by The Master. But in a later episode, Obama is the President. So in the Doctor Who universe, Obama was Winters' running mate, and only became president because of the death of Winters, and then, assumedly, wins the 2012 election. Later, in Extremis, an unknown white, dark-haired, president is seen after having committed suicide in a simulation created by the villains of the three-parter, "The Monks". The Simulation is implied to be perfect, apart from an inability to simulate random numbers. Yet, in the next episode, the president is referred to as "orange".

Just kinda wanted to add a footnote. So in the Short story "The Repairer of Reputations", it is implied that Hildred Castaigne, the protagonist, suffers from extreme delusions after a traumatic head injury. In this sense he is an example of a unreliable narrator and the reader is meant to doubt everything that he says. I bring this up because the presidential changes that Hildred presents are potentially either overexaggerated or made up completely. An example of this being the suicide booths most likely being newly opened entrances to a unground transit systems (which was at the planning stages in New York at the time of the novels release)..
