I hope you guys read my comment ! It's a running gag in the story that Zoro's sense of direction is literally non existent !! Example, when Luffy found him in the hallway and Zoro said "this place is a maze" whilst being in a literal hallway that goes in a straight line, lmao. 😂 Just a heads up !

If u didn't know, all of the people who helped create this series are huge onepiece fans. Even the director. And it is one of the reasons why this series is so successful. They never included a scene without the permission of Oda aka creator of OP. There's a lot of behind the scenes, interviews in the yt. Hope y'all watch it in your free time to see how passionate all of the people who helped to create this. Also there are a lot of, i mean a LOT of hidden easter eggs from manga even down to their costumes, the wine they drink and stuff.

The manga, which is the original source material, tends to be more bloody and dark than the anime, which is why I can tell you that Buggy's first introduction in the manga was scary (for a moment), unlike his anime appearance. Now, the Live Action did make them darker characters, but it suits them well, imo. Each media version (Manga, Anime, Live Action) has its own unique characteristics and twists, but they all maintain the core values of the story, at least up to this moment.

You'll never experience an anime/manga or a work of fiction in your lifetime as great as One Piece. It is a masterclass in storytelling. I started my One Piece journey in early 1999, when it first aired in our country. Up to this day I anticipate every chapter and every episode that come out. I fell in awe of the story, the world and the characters. It may seemingly cartoonish at first but it will teach you many lessons in life. It will make you happy, it will make you mad, it will make you go at the edge of your seat and it will definitely make you cry. When people ask me why are you still watching that even though you're almost 40, I say this, "This anime has more heart and thought put into this than most shows produced nowadays. You need to experience this show to know, and once you do, you'll also love it.". As an advice, consume One Piece at your own pace, no need to rush. It is meant to be enjoyed piece by piece, savor every morsel of the story and before you know it, you'll be amazed by the journey you went through with the Straw Hat crew.

Hey guys, first time posting a comment. I love your reactions and (just as you said in the first video) it is nice to see the opinion of people who are starting One Piece through the live action. (Spoiler free) I really love the world of One Piece. Some might argue about the pace of the anime but it is there so you can know (and starting loving) all the characters and the world. As you guessed and commented in the first video, there are some dialogues and interactions that were ommited in the live action so some things might feel somewhat weirdly glued. But the original story is pretty (sometimes unbelievably awesome) solid. The author really focuses in storytelling and it becomes very clear that he is telling just one big adventure. I would say take your time. I don't see any reason for rushing to catch up (also because that is not the point). The anime will probably still go on for a couple of years more so you will have plenty of time to "catch up". I just wish you can trully enjoy this amazing journey.

28:45 He actually ALSOOO has a couple of people that he has told the ending to to make sure that he can finish the story for everyone. Additionally, one of the 'make a wish' campaigns was for a kid who was terminally ill with cancer to finish the story for the kid, so Oda showed up and told the kid that was dying the end of the story. The guy is a fucking wonderful man. I know hardly anything about him but I have not heard one single bad thing about this man.

@ECAstack can you stop spoiling for Michelle and Ron? Michelle and Ron have stated they weren't familiar with One Piece before watching the live action. They did a video asking people not to do spoilers and specifically say things viewers know that they don't know that they will learn from watching. Knowing what the author said is something they don't know, but learning they never get together they'd learn from watching...thus it is a spoiler in their eyes. Michelle and Ron stated what THEY, the reactors WE are watching consider spoilers.... that comment fits that criteria. Commenting it over and over again on their channel means you are intentionally trying to get them to read it. So are you trying to spoil it?

@@myTERAexperience Brah, its not a spoiler when the author himself says it in a multitude of interviews over the years as well as the OPLA show runners as recent as a few weeks ago in interviews and articles as its not their intent to show romance between the crew in the OPLA, This is a story about friends/action as a boys shonen manga/anime and not romance. Along was supposed to be a sawfish. Many people mistake the sawfish for a species of shark, but they’re actually more closely related to stingrays and other members of the ray family. His nose is most definitely made to resemble the sawfish nose. The sawfish actually has teeth that grow out of both sides of their long appendage in the place of a nose. They hunt fish by swimming into a school of small fish and thrash their saw quickly back and forth, usually killing many of the bait fish. Then they eat the injured or dead fish that remain.

One Piece manga started in 1997, and the anime started 2 years later in 1999. Eiichiro Oda works so hard, sleeps very little, and over time has gotten ill. One time when he was hospitalized in 2013, Masashi Kishimoto (creator of Naruto) came to visit him in the hospital and saw him working on One Piece there in his hospital room. Kishimoto ended helping him draw some of the story arc for one of the manga. Won’t say which, no spoilers, but in the anime it is the arc that runs from episodes 575 to 746. Not sure how much of the arc he helped with, just knew he had helped. Someone who got what it took to do this type of storytelling. To answer your question: started the anime in or around 2003/2004. Was suggested by my nephew. Am 49 now and cannot wait till the anime is released each Sunday (most Sundays lol), at 9:30am in Japan. 5:30pm (Saturday) pst.

One of my favorite things about One Piece is you can see a character from the start of the show, first 100 episodes and under then find out some random crazy connection to that character or event or something in the 800's or higher. Just the web of world building is beautifully done. And to add my friends watched this when it started and in high school. I didn't care for it at the time but years later i go to their house to chill with 4-5 dudes and they were watching OP and it was such an amazing episode that i had told them then and there i gotta start this over because i gotta know how we got here lol.

The One Piece live action did so well because Eiichiro Oda (the creator of One Piece) worked hand in hand with Netflix and the studios to bring it to life. He was heavily involved in the show. He gave the final green light for every decision. I’m not sure other anime/manga would translate as well as a live action show.
@FuzzyDlop

He clearly didn't give green light for every decision, since he clearly said to Japanese media that he didn't like some of the changes as they affect characters or future storylines. And there's a dozen manga that would translate to live action better than One Piece.

Great reaction as always! This next part is NOT a spoiler, but just to answer your question - the experience watching the One Piece anime is GREAT but isn't the SAME. Like, for example in Demon Slayer, several things happen per episode, but in One Piece, because it's more stretched out (i.e. yes the pacing is a little slower too) so fewer things happen per episode OR smaller plot points are stretched out over several episodes. In shorter animes like again Demon Slayer, smaller plot points are dealt with fairly 'quickly', maybe over an episode or two - but in One Piece a fairly 'small' plot point can take several episodes or something - again Im being general here. So the One Piece anime is still AMAZING, but, and of course i wont spoil anything, but the experience is different, don't expect things to move along like they're doing in this show. This show btw, covers, GENERALLY SPEAKING, about the first 60 episodes of the anime, so that's a little scale of where things are in comparison I know you have your own plans for reacting...etc, your patreon and all that, but a suggestion could be that you can react to this anime, but not necessarily regularly. Since it's so long, it's more practical to react to like, 6 - 7 episodes per video, edit them all in together. And then, a few weeks later, another 6 - 7, just an idea. My point is you guys are excited and want to get started, but it's a little daunting - so reacting to a handful of episodes every couple of weeks can be a good way to get into it, instead of making it a regular/weekly commitment

This arc got some cuts of various characters so i hope that you will give a check to the manga / anime someday :E Btw, Mirror Ball island doesnt appears during the main story but it appeared in one of the short stories (Note: "Short-Term Focused Cover Page Serials" usually shortened to Cover Stories or Cover Arcs, are a series of supplemental stories told through the cover pages of select manga chapters. With few exceptions, they focus on the activities of various antagonists and side-characters after their initial encounters with the Straw Hat Pirates.) Also the island appeared in a special short anime: "Jango Dance Carnival" a bonus short anime released with a animation movie of One Piece.

Some points for clarification: 1. It doesn't always mean that when they have a power, they ate a devil fruit. 2. Their history is different from ours. It's a different world after all. So you can't say, "maybe back then..." because our "back then" is not the same to theirs. They have their own timeline. 3. Their fashion and the things they use are also their own. It doesn't follow the same timeline as ours. That's why you will see someone wearing baseball caps, normal tshirts, suits, etc. and some wearing outfits like the spanish conquistadors, or pirates, and also others that look like farmers, etc. 4. They have their own races, too. It's humans plus others you will see in the next episodes and seasons. That's why it doesn't matter what race the actor/actress that plays a certain character is. As long as they look like the character, it's fine. Their accents don't matter, too because they are all "humans" in the One Piece world.

This story is like no other. I’ve been following it for 18 years. Half of my life. It’s a big part of it, like friends and family. To be this long and still blow me away, it’s wild. The manga currently is just out of this world.

I'm loving that you are loving this!!!! If you ever start the anime just keep in mind that it will be different from the show, it is more goofy and more cartoony, the show really succeed in keeping the same plot points but with an entire different path leading to them, but still bringing the soul of it (that is basically be a fun adventure), that's why it is a good adaptation!

Yes you should definitely start watching the anime. Once you do, you will never be the same. It's very well written. The author (Oda) can make you cry over a friken banana if he wanted to. That's how good One Piece is. That being said, with the amount of shows ur doing now, I do suggest finishing one current show that ur watching first if ur planning on tackling One Piece. It's a journey, and a LONG one at that. We don't want u overworking urselves.

Like u guys were talking abt at the end EVERYTHING IN ONE PIECE MATTERS! Everything is done for a reason, again as u said even the fillers. For example (and spoilers I guess?) early on in the anime a character will mention some names of certain characters, then like 500 episodes/chapters later that character is FULLY introduced into the anime/manga. Also even the TINY details that u think wouldn’t matter at all…they do😂. On another note the world building of the OP universe is 100% THE BEST IN ANIME AND MANGA! Even non OP fans can agree with that statement. There’s funny moments, painful, sad, disturbing, disgusting, uncomfortable, insane, and downright devastating, but it all makes sense and makes for an INCREDIBLE story and journey. I REALLY hope u guys do check out the anime, if u want to dip your toes into the WORLD/WORLD BUILDING of OP I recommend checking out the video "The Breathtaking World of One Piece"👌 (no there’s no spoilers in it)

They way they did the live action in MANY cases can act as a supplemental to the anime. For example, the Garp/Helmeppo/Coby interaction is not covered in the anime. It leaves a LOT of questions for later in the anime. That is just ONE of many examples of how the live action adds to the anime experience.

One Piece is truly a league of its own. It's a journey like no other. I started my OP journey back in 2020. My brother had been convincing me to watch it waaaaaaay before that but it having 700 episodes at that time kinda put me off 😅 but now I'm caught up and all I gotta say is, I WANT MORE! Some people suggest to give it at least 100 episodes to see if you'd like to continue watching the series but as for me, the first episode of the anime was enough to hook me to the series and then followed by other instances that just stamped my undying love for One Piece 😅 It's really so easy to fall in love with One Piece in all its forms, may it be manga, anime or live action. This really is a masterpiece by Oda sensei. It's gonna give you a roller coaster ride of emotions and will take you to a different world ❤

Yessssss please I would love seeing you guys watching the One Piece anime! Take your time with it and have as much fun as you could watching it it’ll be such a fun ride and you’ll start seeing moments you’ll never expect in this story the live action does cover different things compared to how the anime does it but content wise with seasons might drag as release dates pop up so definitely enjoy the anime as much as you can can’t wait!🏴‍☠️🔥

Also Ive come to known that devil fruits are the main power system within one piece which I was like HUHH XD Also I am excited for ATLA live action after seeing One Piece be treated this way

I started One Piece in 2005 when I was 17. I'm 35 now, have read, watched and played through countless stories and none of them come close to how One Piece makes me feel. The series has made me laugh and cry more than any other story I have consumed. One Piece is the greatest story ever told in my opinion.

I'm just starting to watch your reactions while I work on server stuff. It's pretty hilarious so far. Rice asks ~@29:00 about our journeys into One Piece. In the late 2000's, I was an admin of a fansite for Bleach, and the "4th Division" of our site was heavily invested into the One Piece anime. At first, I thought it was too goofy animation-wise, but I finally gave it a chance around 2007/2008, and... Well, you'll see for yourself. I can already see you've taken the plunge and are in the Alabasta arc. I'll love catching up with you and making more comments along the way. (Don't worry, I'm being sure to "Like" each video as I watch your playlists.)

Captain Kuro (the butler): Live Action VS Anime- when i started OnePiece journey, back in 2005, i was in 8th grade. i was really intrigued by Captain Kuro, and found him a really cool villain. there are many details about Captain Kuro and BlackCat Pirates in the anime that were trimmed or changed in the LiveAction. especially. Captain Kuro's style of adjusting his eye-glasses, and the significance behind that. i started copying his style of adjusting eye-glases at that age. and it became a part of me. i am in my 30's now, still i adjust my eyeglasses like him. :)

I started One Piece beginning of 2021. I've binged the anime twice myself. Watch other reactions to feel the emotions of others 1st times and read the manga weekly now. I'd recommend watching a KZbin video called The Breath Taking World of One Piece, it's spoiler free but gives you a sense of the art of each Arc and island. Also as others have said, it's journey not to be rushed so watch it at your pace. There's a lot to read into and think about per episode

Loving this show. Love all the anime you mentioned. But sooooo excited to hear you have 86 on your list. Was so good and can't wait to see you react to it! And after never being interested in the One Piece anime, can definitely say this show has me wanting to start on it too. As for the enthusiasm at the end, If Netflix could do every show with the quality and passion of this one, I agree. Buuuuut I think this is the exception, not the rule unfortunately lol Far too many reboots/adaptations that seem like just money grabs, with too few if any people working on them that are even fans of the source material. This one seems built right from the bottom up, get the original creators involved if you can, or at the very least treat their creations with respect. Maybe we can hope plans for other shows take note ... of what should be obvious but is too often forgotten or even spit on.

My cousin and I ended up downloading episodes on Limewire when we got our first computer and I was caught up by the manga around 9th grade 2009. Been on and off on the anime rewatching arcs when I want to revisit some stuff, but have read the manga every week it comes out since

I just started one piece a week ago, it was a lot of fun. What I try to do is keep in mind, not to be reminded that the show has a 1000 episodes, i think of it as a fun, casual anime to watch when I'm bored, because rushing it will probably take the enjoyment out for me so that's why its good to just take it slow and have fun. Don't rush it. And another, yeah watching too many anime series at once is very tiring and too much, that's why I rather finished one series before going to the next.
