I hope you guys read my comment ! It's a running gag in the story that Zoro's sense of direction is literally non existent !! Example, when Luffy found him in the hallway and Zoro said "this place is a maze" whilst being in a literal hallway that goes in a straight line, lmao. 😂 Just a heads up !

If u didn't know, all of the people who helped create this series are huge onepiece fans. Even the director. And it is one of the reasons why this series is so successful. They never included a scene without the permission of Oda aka creator of OP. There's a lot of behind the scenes, interviews in the yt. Hope y'all watch it in your free time to see how passionate all of the people who helped to create this. Also there are a lot of, i mean a LOT of hidden easter eggs from manga even down to their costumes, the wine they drink and stuff.

Along was supposed to be a sawfish. Many people mistake the sawfish for a species of shark, but they’re actually more closely related to stingrays and other members of the ray family. His nose is most definitely made to resemble the sawfish nose. The sawfish actually has teeth that grow out of both sides of their long appendage in the place of a nose. They hunt fish by swimming into a school of small fish and thrash their saw quickly back and forth, usually killing many of the bait fish. Then they eat the injured or dead fish that remain.

The manga, which is the original source material, tends to be more bloody and dark than the anime, which is why I can tell you that Buggy's first introduction in the manga was scary (for a moment), unlike his anime appearance. Now, the Live Action did make them darker characters, but it suits them well, imo. Each media version (Manga, Anime, Live Action) has its own unique characteristics and twists, but they all maintain the core values of the story, at least up to this moment.

You'll never experience an anime/manga or a work of fiction in your lifetime as great as One Piece. It is a masterclass in storytelling. I started my One Piece journey in early 1999, when it first aired in our country. Up to this day I anticipate every chapter and every episode that come out. I fell in awe of the story, the world and the characters. It may seemingly cartoonish at first but it will teach you many lessons in life. It will make you happy, it will make you mad, it will make you go at the edge of your seat and it will definitely make you cry. When people ask me why are you still watching that even though you're almost 40, I say this, "This anime has more heart and thought put into this than most shows produced nowadays. You need to experience this show to know, and once you do, you'll also love it.". As an advice, consume One Piece at your own pace, no need to rush. It is meant to be enjoyed piece by piece, savor every morsel of the story and before you know it, you'll be amazed by the journey you went through with the Straw Hat crew.

Hey guys, first time posting a comment. I love your reactions and (just as you said in the first video) it is nice to see the opinion of people who are starting One Piece through the live action. (Spoiler free) I really love the world of One Piece. Some might argue about the pace of the anime but it is there so you can know (and starting loving) all the characters and the world. As you guessed and commented in the first video, there are some dialogues and interactions that were ommited in the live action so some things might feel somewhat weirdly glued. But the original story is pretty (sometimes unbelievably awesome) solid. The author really focuses in storytelling and it becomes very clear that he is telling just one big adventure. I would say take your time. I don't see any reason for rushing to catch up (also because that is not the point). The anime will probably still go on for a couple of years more so you will have plenty of time to "catch up". I just wish you can trully enjoy this amazing journey.

One Piece manga started in 1997, and the anime started 2 years later in 1999. Eiichiro Oda works so hard, sleeps very little, and over time has gotten ill. One time when he was hospitalized in 2013, Masashi Kishimoto (creator of Naruto) came to visit him in the hospital and saw him working on One Piece there in his hospital room. Kishimoto ended helping him draw some of the story arc for one of the manga. Won’t say which, no spoilers, but in the anime it is the arc that runs from episodes 575 to 746. Not sure how much of the arc he helped with, just knew he had helped. Someone who got what it took to do this type of storytelling. To answer your question: started the anime in or around 2003/2004. Was suggested by my nephew. Am 49 now and cannot wait till the anime is released each Sunday (most Sundays lol), at 9:30am in Japan. 5:30pm (Saturday) pst.

Knowing what the author said is something they don't know, but learning they never get together they'd learn from watching...thus it is a spoiler in their eyes. Michelle and Ron stated what THEY, the reactors WE are watching consider spoilers.... that comment fits that criteria. Commenting it over and over again on their channel means you are intentionally trying to get them to read it. So are you trying to spoil it?

The One Piece live action did so well because Eiichiro Oda (the creator of One Piece) worked hand in hand with Netflix and the studios to bring it to life. He was heavily involved in the show. @@FuzzyDlop Interesting that this is the first time they ever did a good live action adaptation of an anime or manga. Like u guys were talking abt at the end EVERYTHING IN ONE PIECE MATTERS! Everything is done for a reason, again as u said even the fillers. For example (and spoilers I guess?) early on in the anime a character will mention some names of certain characters, then like 500 episodes/chapters later that character is FULLY introduced into the anime/manga. Also even the TINY details that u think wouldn’t matter at all…they do😂. On another note the world building of the OP universe is 100% THE BEST IN ANIME AND MANGA! Even non OP fans can agree with that statement. There’s funny moments, painful, sad, disturbing, disgusting, uncomfortable, insane, and downright devastating, but it all makes sense and makes for an INCREDIBLE story and journey. I REALLY hope u guys do check out the anime, if u want to dip your toes into the WORLD/WORLD BUILDING of OP I recommend checking out the video "The Breathtaking World of One Piece"👌 (no there’s no spoilers in it)

Some points for clarification: 1. It doesn't always mean that when they have a power, they ate a devil fruit. 2. Their history is different from ours. It's a different world after all. So you can't say, "maybe back then..." because our "back then" is not the same to theirs. They have their own timeline. 3. Their fashion and the things they use are also their own. It doesn't follow the same timeline as ours. That's why you will see someone wearing baseball caps, normal tshirts, suits, etc. and some wearing outfits like the spanish conquistadors, or pirates, and also others that look like farmers, etc. 4. They have their own races, too. It's humans plus others you will see in the next episodes and seasons. That's why it doesn't matter what race the actor/actress that plays a certain character is. As long as they look like the character, it's fine. Their accents don't matter, too because they are all "humans" in the One Piece world.

They way they did the live action in MANY cases can act as a supplemental to the anime. For example, the Garp/Helmeppo/Coby interaction is not covered in the anime. It leaves a LOT of questions for later in the anime. That is just ONE of many examples of how the live action adds to the anime experience.

Captain Kuro (the butler): Live Action VS Anime- when i started OnePiece journey, back in 2005, i was in 8th grade. i was really intrigued by Captain Kuro, and found him a really cool villain. there are many details about Captain Kuro and BlackCat Pirates in the anime that were trimmed or changed in the LiveAction. especially. Captain Kuro's style of adjusting his eye-glasses, and the significance behind that. i started copying his style of adjusting eye-glases at that age. and it became a part of me. i am in my 30's now, still i adjust my eyeglasses like him. :)

I'm loving that you are loving this!!!! If you ever start the anime just keep in mind that it will be different from the show, it is more goofy and more cartoony, the show really succeed in keeping the same plot points but with an entire different path leading to them, but still bringing the soul of it (that is basically be a fun adventure), that's why it is a good adaptation!

I think the live action will ruin your experience to anime, especially moments like Zoro vs Mihawk, Arlong Park

I started in 2016 when I was in middle school. Now I’m 19 in my sophomore year of college. It’s definitely a journey but it’s so worth it!!

One Piece is truly a league of its own. It's a journey like no other. I started my OP journey back in 2020. My brother had been convincing me to watch it waaaaaaay before that but it having 700 episodes at that time kinda put me off 😅 but now I'm caught up and all I gotta say is, I WANT MORE! Some people suggest to give it at least 100 episodes to see if you'd like to continue watching the series but as for me, the first episode of the anime was enough to hook me to the series and then followed by other instances that just stamped my undying love for One Piece 😅 It's really so easy to fall in love with One Piece in all its forms, may it be manga, anime or live action. This really is a masterpiece by Oda sensei. It's gonna give you a roller coaster ride of emotions and will take you to a different world ❤

I started One Piece beginning of 2021. I've binged the anime twice myself. Watch other reactions to feel the emotions of others 1st times and read the manga weekly now. I'd recommend watching a KZbin video called The Breath Taking World of One Piece, it's spoiler free but gives you a sense of the art of each Arc and island. Also as others have said, it's journey not to be rushed so watch it at your pace. There's a lot to read into and think about per episode

Fan fact. Each episode in the Live action of one piece was actually comprised of 3 to 7 episodes in the anime. That's why changes were made in the live action. The 8-episode one piece live action reached 68 epsodes of the anime.

I started one piece when I was 13 and I am 31 now. I started with dragon ball z much younger and followed the big three anime/manga (Naruto, One Piece, Bleach) weekly growing up. Ive watched lots of anime but those are my top 4 anime, One Piece being my favorite.

The different title card designs represent the different pirate crews. The first few are actually fashioned for each of Luffy's crew members. They are predictions of what their jolly Rogers would be if they were to each Captain a pirate crew.

The One Piece Live Action (just like the One Piece anime) is adapting the manga. However, the live action adaptation's plot deviates quite a bit from the manga, due to only having 8 episodes, while the anime adapts it almost 1-on-1. Though I agree that Alice in Borderland, Rurouni Kenshin, etc. were easier to adapt since (a) they're more grounded and not as fantastical and wacky as One Piece (b) and also made in Japan(ese), so they don't suffer the same chance of coming off as corny when you bring "anime dialogue" into live action format....

My One Piece journey started when I was like 6 and saw the 4Kids dub in like 2001... My cousin and I ended up downloading episodes on Limewire when we got our first computer and I was caught up by the manga around 9th grade 2009. Been on and off on the anime rewatching arcs when I want to revisit some stuff, but have read the manga every week it comes out since

I'm just starting to watch your reactions while I work on server stuff. It's pretty hilarious so far. Rice asks ~@29:00 about our journeys into One Piece. In the late 2000's, I was an admin of a fansite for Bleach, and the "4th Division" of our site was heavily invested into the One Piece anime. At first, I thought it was too goofy animation-wise, but I finally gave it a chance around 2007/2008, and... Well, you'll see for yourself. I can already see you've taken the plunge and are in the Alabasta arc. I'll love catching up with you and making more comments along the way. (Don't worry, I'm being sure to "Like" each video as I watch your playlists.)

I'm 29. My One Piece Journey started back in 2004, I was 10yrs old watching the 4kids dub. I stopped watching probably in 8th grade, but picked the show back up when I went into college, once I caught up with the Anime I switched over to Manga, I went a long time not knowing that the Manga was way ahead of the Anime lol. But yeah I've been a weekly Manga reader now for years. I don't watch the anime weekly anymore, because of the pacing, but a couple times a year I will binge watch from where I stopped up until the most current. The Anime is great when you can just binge it, but for me it was excruciating having to wait every week hahah, anyway I think ya'll should at least watch the Anime up until the live action season 1 ends

Animes are usually adaptations but sometimes there are completely original animes created for that medium. Apparently psycho-pass, FLCL, Samurai Champloo, Kill-la-kill, Code Geass, Gurren Lagann, Evangelion, and Cowboy Bebop were all created as animes, not as adaptations. There are many many more - especially (standalone) anime movies are usually not adaptations. In some cases, mangas are even adaptations of a Light Novel. Or sometimes they skip the manga and adapt a LN straight into an anime.
