exactly the same for us! she would say “(my name) at the engine (my sisters name) rings the bell.” She sang it to us every night as we fell asleep and she would lay with us. This gives me the greatest comfort

Totally agree. There might be a few equally beloved, but none more so. I grew up with the pub rock era so my preference was harder music than the Seekers, but nonetheless, the voice Judith had was extraordinary and it would be a poor person who couldn't appreciate it or be astonished by the amazing achievements the Seekers had.

Personally without a single doubt, Judith is really a gifted singer. She sang it so effortlessly, smoothly and naturally even at high notes without any advanced digital effects to make it “sound good”. No gimmick at all! Just pure and clear and good. Her voice is very soothing to my ears. Wow, bravo, what a amazing voice! I am speechless when she control the song(s) so well. What a gifted singer! Really impressed! But no one seems to be able to do what Judith Durham was able to do with her vocal power, pitch, purity, poise, resonance, range, emotion, grace, gentleness, simplicity, effortless delivery, transcendent, heavenly sublime tonal quality, and overall luminous stage presence. I was given this as a 7" single (45rpm), and the 'B Side' also has a beautiful song, 'When The Stars Begin To Fall'. I fell in love with the singers voice, but I never saw her until I looked for a 'Seekers' album in a music shop (while clutching my birthday money) and saw the group on some of the album covers. As much as I love Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple and Bad Company, the absolute purity of Judith Durham's voice, accompanied by the groups' acoustic instruments, always has me going back to their music. She'll always be a legend in my eyes, and in my ears. RIP JD.

I used to sing this song to my daughter when she was a baby as a lullaby. She's 45 this year. It brings back wonderful memories. Now especially as I'm now a great gran mother myself
