A simple bike is the answer.with minimal tech as you say, less distraction and more chance to enjoy the ride. Always good when you are out on the Gold Star, you have covered more miles than me i'm just coming up to 1000 miles on mine.

Hey Gordon, she is a wonderful, characterful bike. Just oozs a time from the past, in a modern way. The simplest answer is usually the right answer. And with such complicated stuff we have today, it is great to see an offering in the bike world that is not only simple but rides great too.

After coming out of the long winter i was so looking forward to getting the GoldStar out when i had a minor heart attack and finished in hospital watching the sun shine outside. I'm now out waiting to serve my weeks ban but by Saturday i will be out there on my simple magnificent Goldie, can't wait.

Well done Ian in the recovery. This is good news. Enjoy your ride and let the wind blow through your hair 👍

Wonderful video. Loved the riding and conversation. I'm an ole American farm boy, I loved the firearms and fishing gear the store was selling.

It is interesting to look at other countries on what is a simple ride 👍

@@bankruptpensioner I agree. If I did that here I’d call it a slice of Americana.

Nice bike Richard, I do always appreciate the local ride out's, thank you.

Hi Richard= I did not know the difference between Great Britain & the United Kingdom; so thank you for that history lesson. Be careful not to keep your hands in your pocket to long(beginning of video) or people will get on to you & know that your playing pocket pool (lol). So give us a 1,2,3 in order of how you like/enjoy your bikes. Have a lovely day! Cheers!! Illinois,USA

Hey Larry 😆, I never thought of that. I tend to put my hands in the pockets because if I let them roam free, it starts to look as if i am giving a swimming lesson 😆. As you will see in the video to be out over the next could of days regard the gather of riders to Tenerife. You need to watch this 👍. I will do the 123, get them all out and why it is so 😆

Ok, just an observation. I get the RD, love the BSA but what's with the T120? Surely just another naked bike? more powerful yes but can you really use that on the roads nowadays? Just a thought, great video!
@bankruptpensioner6 ай бұрын
Now that's a great question. The Triumph Tiger and the T120 (now) is my bike. I was struggling to get the Tiger out of the garage and with other bikes (I will come to them in a min) I was selecting those as the easy ride. Therefore the Tiger was becoming my touring bike that was for long distances, which was getting a bit rare. Over in Tenerife, with Tenerife on Triumph, I hired the T120 on two occasions and fell in love. I therefore bought a T120 in replacement of the Tiger and now find I am riding this bike much more often - as it is easier for me to handle out of the garage. Now the other two bikes. The RD abd the BSA are mine. But these are bikes which ultimately promote the channel. Originally, I did not see much content on the BSA, so I bought one - and it is great. The RD, well, I like many others, started on 2-strokes. I just get a real buzz from them. I saw an oppertunity and boght the RD. Ultimately, the BSA and the RD will be sold in the future, but not yet. The RD has plenty of potential for the channel. Hope this explains the situ 👍

The petrol station was unusual, in that it appeared to also be a gun shop, I've not encountered that before. [Posted in haste, before I'd heard your comments].
@bankruptpensioner6 ай бұрын
Hi Steve, it is unusual. I used to have guns before the law tightened up in the late 80s, early 90s. Only for clay pigeon but still guns the same. That feels a lifetime away 😆

Great video as always but a lot of swishy noise in the background like I was under water anyway never seen petrol station with guns in surprised that’s even allowed but probably not got cartridges or pellets in garage that was my job on farm same farm from school for nearly 40 yrs until I went off sick and never went back I was finished off of work but I struggle a bit that bsa does look a nice bike it’s a job to choose with royal Enfield having lots of models and the bsa or to spend bit more and have another triumph bye for now enjoy your riding and ride safe
@bankruptpensioner6 ай бұрын
Hi Nicolas, I am working on the audio and yes, some of it sounds a bit wowwie. I may need to start using a better editor. You may well be right regard the pellets etc. It would seem logical not to have them together. When I had 12 bores, always kept the cartidges well away from the gun cabinet. They were the days prior to the tightening of laws in the late 80's. BSA is quite wonderful 😆

@@bankruptpensioner Just rang Bill Smith. Not taking on other dealers warranty work for 3 or 4 months. So looks like crewe. At least they said to call back. Probably later this week. Its not urgent but it nearly caught me out as it stopped entering a roundabout as I tried to go in second . Ended up coasting in front of a car thumbing starter.

@@zedcharlie Yes Charlie, I got the same sort of answer from Crewe. As you say, one gets used to the issue. Maybe a call to BSA to drive the priority up. I might try that

Had ecu update today. Still doing it. I am not happy. Dangerous . Coasted into a roundabout the other day . Could have been nasty when you drop a gear, clutch out and, stopped

@@zedcharlie That is interesting Charlie. Personally, I suspect the business (BSA India) does not care OR.......does not have the right people able to fix the problem with the firmware. suspect a recall (which should have been done) is to expensive - accountants run the world 😥

Hiya ….i have a 350 classic ….and tbh it has been great but lacks a bit of power for pillion riding ….i am almost ready are to pull the pin and go for it …but I’m really worried about the quality of materials on the bsa as I have friends that have interceptors and the wheels and other parts are showing signs of corrosion after 2 years …and these guys really look after their bikes ….how has your bsa been ?
@bankruptpensioner4 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for the comment. My BSA has been through the winter and this does show. On the understanding that prices have been reduced by £1000, to encourage sales, I suppose this is the right ball park for the level of quality. That said, you have to look after it and it will keep shining. It's not perfect, the spokes are a sad affair, especially through the winter. The chain is cheap - and a replacement of a DID would stop the rust coming through. The main mount bracket for the from mud guard has thin paint and this can flake. But, if the tyre pressures are correct, the bike rides like a dream and flies. Two up, she still flies. I guess a good dowsing of ACF50 from the get go is recommended across the whole bike. Beware - this bike brings a lot of attention from passers by 😆

Imagine a petrol station in somewhere like Deptford having guns on display, the locals would be having a Field Day.
