Saying it’s a joke and it’s comedy is the same as saying “no offence “ only to proceed with being offensive. No excuse in picking on vulnerable people who clearly have emotional issues that can cause their obesity. Those who are overweight and agree with the “comedy “ are surely trying to defend and justify their weight in order to feel accepted.

I almost choked on my mushroom. 🤣 I agree that it's the fault or doing of the person if he's overweight or obese, even when depressed or whatnot, realistically speaking. Genetics is not a good enough reason. People have to recognize that disadvantaged people also have to own up to their problem (if they are to be treated equally), forgive themselves, act upon it and seek help. That said, on no account should they be treated less and neglected.
@madMARTYNmarsh198111 ай бұрын
I can agree with this. I was put on medication that made me want to eat constantly. I was getting up in the early hours to eat because I was so hungry that I had stomach pains. It was definitely the medication, as soon as I stopped taking it those hunger pains went away. It took a while to lose the weight I'd gained but I'm fit again now.
@schalazeal0711 ай бұрын
@@madMARTYNmarsh1981 that's good to hear 😊 although, i just realized that depression and having food addiction can affect people's eating habits to a great extent, so i think i can sympathize with overweight or obese people better now why they are in that state and stay that way.

Obesity is definitely a problem. It could definitely be defined as a sickness or addiction (not that it absolves fatsos from responsibility). I honestly feels like an addiction. Being fat makes you lazy and depressed. It makes workout much harder since you can injure yourself if you’re fat. The hunger feels like an addiction. It really sucks. "Fat people joke" means a fat joke about people. You need the hyphen to express what you meant, "fat-people joke." Also you need quotation marks for the name of the show, as in "Out of England" stand-up show, because when you write 'Out of England Stand up show' that way it means that this is an up show called 'Out of England Stand.' Please learn grammar; it's important.

Obesity is a disease, actually, but it is 100% preventable and reversible . It's a something you voluntarily and knowingly do to yourself, so I understand why people don't see it as an illness, but it is. Also, over-eating is as much an eating disorder as not eating. I'm not condoning it, so don't come for me, I'm just stating facts. And I don't think there should be a charity for obesity, those people belong in therapy and a nutritionist's office.

So basicly a lack of mental strenght is the cause of some people to become fat. He is right that it isn't an disease though. Sufferers of obesity, more like lazy cunts who can't accept they themselves made themselves fat.
@AVanSickle6 жыл бұрын
dnw009 while I see what you're saying, it's not always just that. For many it's because of deaths of people close to them so they turn to "comfort foods." It's a very fucked up mental disorder because they believe the food helps them feel better. I don't disagree with you that there are some lazy people who can't except things so they try to make it seem ok but just like a lot of people, they need someone to wake them up and help them realize they are killing themselves It just happened to my mom actually. Her dad passed away and she hasn't been right since and she turned to bad food. I finally sat her down and told her she needed to fucking stop, because her dad would want her to take care of herself and I want my mom to live a longer life. She's now on a stricter diet and she's exercising with me a lot more.
@TheForeverFalcon6 жыл бұрын
Going to food to comfort themselves doesn't make it a disease lmao. It's not a disorder at all, they just like to eat those 'comfort' foods and not bother going to the gym because that takes dedication and work - laziness isn't a disease; we just like to be lazy but that doesn't mean we can call it a disease and say we have no control over it.

To be fair, the actual "disease" (if such it may be called) of obesity it mental food addiction. I am over 500#, & was raised being praised & lauded for an adult appetite while still in single digits. (i.e. an entire 16" pizza at 9 y.o. in a single sitting, & 3 ½# plates of popcorn shrimp at Red Lobster around 11 y.o.) This planted the seeds of food addiction in my young psyche. Now that I'm grown it's completely my responsibility to do something about it... which I don't because I'm stubborn against therapy. But I also don't complain or make fasle threats to "do better" or "get help" or whatever bullshit fat asses say to get unwarranted sympathy. I am the way I am because I choose it & I'll change if & when I want to.

And you can't tell the difference by looking, so this is encouraging the average person to make assumptions. Hashimoto's is common, esp with women. It's found through lab work.
@TheHyphen7 жыл бұрын
Look I know you can't tell the difference by looking. But don't sit here like folks with conditions are the majority of fat people. NO NO NO, the majority of fat people are made up of people addicted to food. If a person has a condition which is the reason they are battling obesity ok, then don't take it personal and do not group yourselves with those who are just addicted to eating just cause. Your fight is a different one. Eating is an addiction, and alot of people without a condition get hooked on it.
@911patagonia7 жыл бұрын
And Hashimoto's is an often undiagnosed condtion which has to be evaluated by measuring TPO antibodies, not by TSH which most doctors consider adequate as far as tests. I went for years undiagnosed, gaining weight for no reason, because of medical incompetence and unwillingness by drs to look further, and EVERYONE somehow was able to label me some sort of food addict out of complete ignorance. This is a very common condition, especially with women, who tend to have fewer thyroid hormone receptors than men. So unless you know the person and watch them daily, you have no accurate way to judge what the underlying cause is. Public shaming does not work, but it is often being resorted to by people who need to get a life, and is basically cruel. If people want a problem to work on, they should start with themselves and mind their own business. You can have an opinion, fine. But unless you really know what is going on with that person, you are operating from little or no data.
@LoveIsSuicide177 жыл бұрын
That is scientifically impossible. You're not counting your calories correctly.
@apostatereacts3 ай бұрын
Another scientific fact is that humans crave sugar and fat, because in our ancestral environment these things were scarce. That's why it's easy for us to become addicted to sugary and fatty foods, and become overweight. It's also why the food industry puts too much sugar in everything. So it's a bit more complicated than Ricky is making out.

It takes less than a month of „binge eating“ to add up the bodyweight surplus, which took you more than 6 month to lose. Ricky helps opening peoples eyes, as it‘s not easy to tell your „friends“, that after 20 years or more, of not taking care of your bodyweight, you made a big step ahead. Too many of your family & friends don‘t congratulate or even support, but first ask for the quick recipe you followed - and when you explain, its everything, but quick or easy. All they are looking forward to, is your too-soon-to-be-true failure. 🫣
