We had a co worker who's house burned down and was living out of an old bus with no running water and 8 dogs (mostly strays dropped off in the state park next door.) He came in smelly. When we found out he was essentially homeless at 55, we were upset. Then management talked to vendors for materials, and had two paid work days during downtime at his property. They built him a 16×16 house and helped him rehome 6 of the dogs. He was an older man who lived alone so it was perfect for him. You will never find a more loyal employee. He stayed at that job 15 year and taught me carpentry.

I wish I'd had Ricky a couple years ago. We had this woman that was all like, "I only use natural products." So, those salts that she used for deodorant wore off about 4 hours in to our 12 hour work day. We worked in a clean room with great airflow that went from ceiling to floor. You could still smell her from 12 feet away. Yes I used a measuring tape from where I was working to where she normally sat while she was gone to lunch.

These all natural folks don't understand that the "more natural past" was a waaaay whiffier time. I say, if one wants to live the "totally all natural" life, they need to REALLY live the all natural life. They need to go work in a nonelectric and no creature comforts world. They need to work and live with their fellow stinkies. They need to get off the bus, work outside, and live in the wilderness. The rest of us left the 19th century behind, got electricity, running water, began bathing daily, wearing clean garments daily and DON'T want to revisit ye old smelly days. Modern life and work has lots of advantages....all natural isn't one of them. I bet that chick eats plenty of non organic, processed, canned food, right? 🤔😉 Our family was full of smelly gals. They worked as hard at not smelling as they worked to earn a living. They were ripe as hell, by the end of a summer day in that carpet mill, but the first half of the day, they were pleasant enough. Me? I could run 3 miles in like 20 minutes, in the summer, wearing sweats, and not even be damp and have zero odor. Those poor women? They got sweaty in the shower...but they put real effort into their hygiene.
@pixie.del.muerte2 жыл бұрын
@@dgeneeknapp3168 preach! My family has been farming since dinosaurs roamed the earth, it's not uncommon for us to take 2 showers a day during summer months. Hell, Razor will hop in the water trough and bathe several times a day. Go off the grid if all natural is your thing.

In grade 9 we had a science teacher that had tremendously bad breath. One day we took up a collection and someone went to the quickie mart and got a tube of tooth paste a brush and a pack of minty gum. Tied a ribbon around it with a simple note saying “ please use”. We left it on her desk when she stepped out. Dang it all. She busted out balling and ran to the office. Yup along come mr principal. He demanded to know who had done it. No one answered. So he gave the entire class a detention to which we were ok with. Then one brave dude lifted his hand, principal barked” and what do you want”. All he said was” she needed it”. Lol. Discussion was over. She went home bent out of shape. The next day she came back and you could tell she brushed her teeth. Lol. Sometimes a reminder is very needed.

I just want to point out this video makes an obvious distinction between blue collar and white collar jobs, whether male or female, you will hear in the trades adult opinions on things such as hygiene. In modern offices if someone tells you "You Smell Bad." the person who says it will get referred to HR for punishment. In the trades (real life) if folks are telling you that you smell like a goat at 8:30 in the morning, you have to take your personal hygiene more seriously. I mean if Ricky and Safety Man are agreeing on something, people have a problem TBH.

I was at a video game convention years ago where they gave everyone a free stick of deodorant. Most of them didn't need it but some really did.

I was almost expecting the camera to turn at the end of the meeting and the old man was the only one in the room...

Used to work for a company that made HVAC units to custom order. Was a newly opened shop for them, hadn't gotten all the equipment installed yet when I was hired. First summer I worked there (in Montreal, Quebec ) the heatwave that hit us brought the interior temperature close to 100°F and f$#king 80% humidity. That was bad enough to get the smells flowing, but if you were inside the units that had there walls, doors and ceiling installed? It was death. Those things are insulated with either fiberglass or a flame retardant foam injection. I would have preferred to work in the dams sun.

Close proximity with someone who smells like onions rotting in a dumpster, always makes for a great work day.

Been there, smelled that. While working on a assembly line, I had the misfortune of working downwind from someone like that (until they went to a different department). I had to get a blower pointed in the opposite direction, which helped a little.

I worked in an industrial greenhouse for a while, when the h2a employees came back, we had to have the yearly “toilet paper can go down the toilet talk”, “the proper amount to use” and “the difference between folding and bunching”.
