I should point out that MST3K was Joel's baby. He came up with the show and made the robots out of puppets from his standup act. He said he loved doing it, it was his dream job, and he only left because he and the producer kept fighting for control, and he thought it would be better to leave than risk destroying the show. My boy Joel isn't as popular as Mike, Kevin, and Bill so I like to remind folk to show him some love, and buy his stuff if you're able.

Sadly, i actually believe this is prob true, and i'm not even joking! This is basically a generation before me and footage like this had always been dated, but there's an innocent openness in making horrifying plasticene corn dollies and sheaf earrings which is completely free of a dopamine economy of "likes and views". No doubt, if i had a child, 100% would rather they make hideous grass imprints on clay than be on the internet. I know there's good things on the internet too, but it changes everything about attention and learning skills and to a large extend has wholly removed wholesome noodling for no purpose other than experimental creativity from our loves. When you see kids actually literally start to hanker for _wholesome_ as though it is as impossible commodity to come by, indeed a bygone, it's pretty telling. Even a grandmother talking about hydrangeas can these days captivate millions of views from lonely children. Of course, this stuff is deeply uncool, but that's kinda the point. I think we've got it wrong. Irony is great, but too much sophistry for kids can't be. Let them have hideous daggy crafts, the kind not even a mother could love, pointless ones, it's exactly the sort of thing they need a massive injection of.

Wow, sorry more interesting and actual fun things weren't invented back then. I'm guessing fun wasn't invented until the late 70's, or sometime in the 80's. I mean, I don't know. I wasn't even alive until the 90s. But this just looks like the most boring thing possible. I think we've finally found it everybody! The most boring possible thing! Not this Riff, of course. These guys are hilarious. If it weren't for them, I'm sure nobody would've even wanted to sit through what feels like a half-hour of the most boring things you can do, and then, not even answer the question they ask at the beginning of the video. Pretty sure corn may be grass though. Can't quite say if these were better times. They certainly don't look like it. The invention of fun can't come soon enough... never have 10 minutes felt like such an eternity.

not gonna lie... some of those crafting projects could come in handy when your stranded on a tropical "grassy" island Specifically the demonic grass mask that you could use to scare the wild natives into submission and absolute servitude.

Never in a hurry to enjoy a fine day's riffin'. A Rifftrax Short should be consumed in a leisurely manner, perhaps with several viewings. It's not the answer to the question, "Is corn grass?" that should be the aimed-for result, it's the manner in which one arrives at that result. Me, I prefer a cold slice of meat-lovers, m'dog on my lap and perhaps the ambient sound of Torgo breathing heavily that gets me there.
