I wish you were local to Huddersfield. I have a glow plug number 3 and two 2 DPF faults, soot and ash accumulation. The confusing thing is the van runs well and the fault only came about on Friday after I drained the battery in this cold weather.

Thanks to you and this video I’ve just done my own glow plugs on my 2.2, and only one of them was stuck in with carbon build up thanks again and keep up the good content 🤜🤛

I've watched a lot of your videos and am wondering if I could pour the DPF cleaning fluid down both pipes linking to the pressure sensor or just one of them? Also, can I change or adjust the turbo actuator on the 2.0 without removing the turbo?

oh man thats a dirty engine for a relatively recent van ,i have an old tranny with no dpf and egr blanked off ,i had the inlet off recently and it was virtually clean so im not convinced of the argument for the egr ,great vid cheers

About to delete my dpf and egr . Think I’ll be taking off the inlet manifold for inspection and a clean if it needs it.

Apparently the glow plugs can break easily on extraction from the 2.2 engine. Can u advise as how to prevent this.found your video very informative.

Lots of WD40. Hot engine. Work it back and forward. This impact gun I'm using helps prevent snapping

Hi I'm forever cleaning the dpf and static regen. I use forscan also. I notice you said in the beginning that a glow plug had gone down and it may be a problem related to the dpf,how would that be. I've also got a glowplug down and didn't think it was a problem cheers in advance

Dpf regeneration is normally done buy injecting fuel into the cylinder as the exhaust valve opens so the glow plug heats the diesel as its excellent the dpf. Normally if a vehicle has any engine combustion faults it won't regenerate as it disables for safety. Same applies to low oil or oil pressure or level sensors. Egr valve. Thermostat not reaching temperature etc

Transit custom 2.2L smoke on startup and gone after 15 seconds or so. Whitish smoke. I suspect the injector seat washer is leaking as lots of blow by. Not sure if that's the cause or another issue altogether. What would you suspect the issue to be? I'm in Australia or I'd just bring it to you 😁

I bought the Wynns fluid that he uses off of eBay for about 25 Pounds. It works really well. I only use about 1L when I clean the DFP in my Range Rover and it works every time.

Where are you based I’ve had my van in for similar faults they changed my glow plugs and did a regeneration. It ran ok for 20miles and now it’s saying exhaust filter blocked drive to clear. You drive it and then it comes up with engine service.

Near the end of this video we realised the vaporizer fuel pump wasn't working. Most common cause of repeat dpf issues on these is a blocked vaporizer or the pump for it

Injects fuel into the dpf to raise the temperature to allow it to burn

Think. You put the liquid in and gravity makes it do what. Yep inside it literally does not clean the top of the dpf. The liquid has to go in under higher pressure. 30 psi from your pump bottle or less just aint enough to do a real real good clean. Clearly your system works but if you took the dpf off and opened it, after you would see what I am talking about. lower section of dpf cleaner than top. On end of probe going in to dpf you need a nozzle which diverts the fluid upwards.

The inlet manifold was actually very bad. No way I would have put that back on without cleaning it and the ports. All that carbon obviously caused by the EGR puking carbon into the inlet and mixing with oil mist from the crank case breather.

I notice 95% of your vids are dpf callouts it just goes to show how choked up diesels are now days. I've chosen to go pre 2010 for my 1.9tdi diesel engine less soot an carbon buildup.

Glow plugs on the 2.2 Transit engine are not invloved wiht DPF regeneration. All 4 can be broken and it will still regen. Probably needs a vaporiser.

I'm afraid that glow plugs do more than help with cold start. They can cause DPF issues.

@@jgreystr glow plugs definitely disable regeneration. We have had identical vans come to us after new dpf, new thermostat, new egr, new turbo, and still dpf issues. After diagnostic I found the glow plugs not working. Replaced them and vans been fine ever since
