HI Rob I haven't put any different stem covers on my 2020 TOYOTA TACOMA TRD ! BUT I DID PUT SOME ON MY HARLEY DAVIDSON. Just a cool little bling for your special ride! Although I think they look nice i meen like with the Harley you really kinda be lookin for them!lol Another mod from the TOYOTA Mod King I dig em ! Have a wonderful day take care bud!!!

Did they come in Sokie Tech packaging? I’ve seen numerous recent posts on the amazon listing for these that have different brackets then the ones you got and they fit no problem. I did find one post of someone that got the same ones you did and had to hammer them as well to flatten the brackets and the struts were branded with a different company name. Seems like the wrong struts were sent out.

I just got these same hood struts delivered, now I don’t know what to do send them back or keep them.

Hey Rob you showed us so no drill hood struts from Sokitek in 2021 on your Tacoma. They were remove 1 bolted however side and double sided tape on top but they did not have side pieces you said you beat with hammer that wasn't on those ! I bought and installed and have had no problems with them except they made hood go up a little higher! I believe it was on a video you did December 2021 you might look that up if you don't want to drill your new truck! Like I said I installed them an have had no problems They look kinda like ones you just had except no side pieces to beat with hammer and were from Sokitek you said. Hope that helps your problems bud!

What was the problem with the OEM strut you were trying to fix?

You will want to put a small dab of clear nail polish or superglue on the seam of the plastic cover and cap because they will fall off! Been there done that.

I do hope your new valve caps are not metal, or at least not like the ones I had on my Camaro. Being metal they rusted for fused on to the valve stem. Could not unscrew them and had to use my angle grinder to carefully remove them. Things from China worry me. Good luck w. yours.

Nice fix, shame you had to go through all that. Still thinking the wrong parts were sent. I went with regular Toyota logo valve stem covers, but really like the looks of the TRDs. BTW: will be putting a vid about a 300 mile Pedal Commander test late tonight or early tomorrow. Is is OK if I link to your channel and/or one of your PC videos? Thanks!

I think the parts were wrong or defective as well. No way the final product should perform that way.
