If any of you other nerds are interested, I was trying to figure out what was happening and was analyzing this too much. Here's what i got from it: 0:23 Triggering the sample in one shot mode on pad 2 bank D, mark button not lit 0:35 Triggering a different sample on a different pad? or maybe a video edit with j rocc footage as a transition clip to skip near the end of this session. Madlib continues triggering pad 2 bank D sample and vibing out 0:50 Pressing the reverse button 0:52 Triggering the sample while reversed 0:58 Triggering that other sample again, maybe pad 1 bank D. Happens while pad 2 is still playing. 1:00 I think he stops playback here pressing the cancel button. Continues triggering pad 2. Note when it plays out this time it sounds like that other chop had been added to this pad at some point with resampling. Also notice now that the mark button is now lit. All that makes me think the clip was shortened since i don't think we ever see him hit resample or edit pad 2 like that. 1:03 Turning on that now highly sought after vinyl sim. He's probably pressing remain + vinyl sim after turning it on so that the effect applies to all pads. Turns comp knob all the way up, as well as noise knob. 1:13 Turning down the volume knob Does it seem accurate? Curious what you all think

Madlib...his music makes me laugh, cry, and think, unlike any other artist. I mean just pick ANY of his aliases and you're in for a treat. They'll be songs like "Please Set me at Ease" that basically get's my eyes watery thinking of how grateful I am to have found love, maybe lost now but still got a taste of it....and then songs like "Strip Club" with J Dilla that make me LAUGH MY ASS OFF. Even him as Quasimoto makes me both laugh, and makes my neck hurt from head banging so much. He can be light, dark, grim, hopeful, romantic, rude, offensive, defensive, uplifting all in ONE album. Yet every song is artistic whether you enjoy it or not. He literally has so many songs, that you can't help but compare him to his OTHER albums. He is his own competition. He is literally SO good, that he has to ignore people's comments in order to stay true to himself. Like people will find one of his albums SO good that you literally have to compare his future work to his past. Yet you can hear a hundred of his songs and someone else would assume it's from a hundred different artists. This guy is so talented it literally gives me chills how someone can be THAT artistic and remain true to himself..while most people...don't even know who he is. Absolute LEGEND. He is one of those artists that I take pride in showing to my friends. Like "hey we GOTTA listen to this" My friends probably find me annoying though because I like HAVE to get my Madlib fix.
