THEY SUCK AND NIKKI SIXX IS AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN, a phony musician,,He NEVER LEARNED HIS INSTRUMENT~!!!!! HOW CAN YOU HOLD A BASS GUITAR FOR FORTY YEARS AND STILL NOT KNOW HOW TO PLAY IT~? I've been a Metal vocalist for 30 years, and I have never lost my voice once,,, and I sing hardcore, aggressive, Metal,,,, kind of like Mudvayne,Pantera,Slipknot, Manson . ... etc.... I even play rhythm guitar, i choose not to on stage those, i do it more for writing purposes,, i could be a good bass player if I wanted to be, i would make Nikki Sixx, look like the douchebag that he is , when I was a young kid, I used to be a fan,,, now, I wish I could take those years back~ the only real musician in that band was Mick Mars,,,, and lard ass vVnce Neil,,, still an Alcoholic After he killed a fellow musician, a drummer from the U.K. named "Razzle"~SMH ~ PLEASE, MOTLEY, FAKE, GO AWAY.JUST GO AWAY,,,,, AND JOHN 5,,, What on God's Green earth were you thinking ~???????? Obviously you weren't~ there will never be another band that will ever hire you again., and I will admit you're a good player, too bad, it's all gonna go to waste now~ dumb ass ~

Y'know, it's a shame because there are SO many metal bands from the 80s who still rock hard. Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Accept... Sadly, Motley Crue is not among them. Clearly Neil didn't take care of his voice, Tommy and Nikki just don't bloody care anymore, and they all shot themselves in the foot by canning Mick Mars, the last vestige of talent that band hand. They might still be doing well financially, but if it's purely a question of the band's current quality... they absolutely should retire.

They seem like a band that won't snuff off until one of or more of the band members start dropping like flies. I worry about this with Judas Priest, knowing how Rob Halford doesn't seem to want to let go and yes I understand they've been putting out good stuff as of late. They're an exception but I'm focusing on the principle of the matter. Motorhead kept going until Lemmy died and that was really that. Slayer ends up coming back after 5 years since their farewell tour. KISS is notorious for multiple farewell tours but returning. Ozzy, the same. Though they seemingly are wrapping up and then you look at Motley Crue and all you can do is just slowly shake your head in disappointment.

Let's be honest: Motley Crue for the vast majority of their duration have been more known for their image than their actual music. Like Todd In The Shadows said in his "Generation Swine" TRAINWRECKORDS episode: "A good story goes a long, long way!" But as far as their actual music over these past three decades is concerned: it's overwhelmingly sub-par to embarrassing. Their single "Saints Of Los Angeles" was admittedly decent, but that's really about it in my opinion as most the rest range from sad, desperate attempts to rehash their party-hardy 80s bag of tricks, or else poor man's attempts at imitating Korn and Stone Temple Pilots: which they simply can't pull off with Neil's type of vocal.

I went to see Motley Crew last in (I want to say) 2007? And they were decent then I think, I mainly went because my friends were into them. Papa Roach opened for them, I enjoyed Papa Roach alot more lol. As for them retiring, personally that should have been their last decade that 2010 tour would have been a good closer, but look, while I am not a huge die hard fan of the band, if people are still paying to see them and there's still that demand, I don't think there's any reason why they should retire. That's always going to be in the hands of the band, I think when fans stop paying to see them then that'll be their eye opener. And yes their new single Cancelled is awful. lol

Mick Mars WAS Motley Crue. Nikki had the impetus to start the band, and it was his idea. Tommy was definitely a defining drummer for them as he came up with some pretty cool parts at times. Vince used to be able to sing -even live, maybe not the greatest singer of the 80s but he had a unique voice. But Mick, well without HIS input, without HIS riffs, and without HIS playing the Crue wouldn't have been anything like they once were. And this is NOT meant as ANY disrespect to John 5 as he is a phenomenal guitarist but I think he took this for the paycheck. He's so underutilized on that abomination of an EP they released, that he should quit even if he needed the money. MC should retire and let Vince eat all the Fatburgers he wants, Nikki brag about how great he was and Tommy fade back into obscurity.

Listen, I don’t care how good the musicians are in any band. If the lead singer is just okay? Its weak! The Crue tried to introduce the world to John Corabi, (one of their best albums) but nooooo people wouldn’t accept him. So deal with Vince. My issue with Vince is: His timing is always off!

I love Motley Crue, but the way Mick Mars was treated in the end, unacceptable. This was not the way it should have been. and it makes me mad and a little heartbroken for him.

Some artists have it in them to age gracefully (the new Smile album is freaking amazing). If the Crüe were willing to do this, then I'd see no problem with them keeping going... but seems like they aren't, so retirement is really their best option.

@@heathertiller3644mick was everything for that, i guess you must not really enjoy motley crue, because those riffs are the heart of the music, and he is easily the most talented in the group even of that era. Infact id go as far as to say beside to tommy to a extent he is the only real musician in motley crue

@@volvotis753 John 5 has more talent in his pinky than Mick does in his whole body. And 95% of those riffs weren’t even written by Mick, if u don’t believe me, just look at the album liners. But I get it, lame Mick never got any spotlight so everyone still loves him. 0 ppl in the history of the world ever said “im going to see the Crüe because of Mick Mars & his scary talent & showmanship”!!!

I say yes! On the Def Leppard Tour.. DL Nailed it and was Amazing and Crue sadly was no where near what DL achieved. Joe hit a few off notes , but nothing like VINCE WAS blahing his way through the songs and then made the fans sing a large part if the song . Started thinking maybe he didnt know the lyrics or just needed to catch his breath.. it was bad 👎
