@@RogueExploration no biggie.....this is my first as well and I've gotten acclimated to it....... Return to Home is a feature once you have GPS locked and on for the device......it will return to where it's takeoff position was from if you hit the button on the remote.....like a get out of jail free card lol......I've crashed my first one because I didnt enable GPS and the drone had a mind of its own....with GPS enabled the flight is way more stable....kudos to your vids, didn't know you could mod the 📷 on it

Great Idea. You can order a GoPro camera mount for syma drone and it clips right on the stock Aero View Mount, that's what I did with mine. That drone is basically a syma clone. I took the stock camera out of the housing and put it inside the drone under the main board then drilled a small hole In the side to run out n connect the wires to the plug and I super glued the lens to the front of the drone body, I use it for the app to give a general idea where the GoPro is shooting, It Still flies great, fast, and no problem with reaching max altitude. I did however ever order upgraded syma batteries that are 2500 mah to give it that extra few minutes of flight time. All together Great Flying Quad.

Did you have to use an additional power source like one of those portable chargers to supply power to it? I have a really lightweight dash cam that I think would work well but it has a USB interface for supplying the power. I'm not sure how I would be able to make use of the powerfead that the drone supplies.

Hey Steve thanks for checking out the video...the camera I used has a battery...to answer your question and honestly I'm not that much of a technical guy when it comes to electronics but yeah I'm sure you could mount a small portable charger to your drone to power a dash cam dash cams are usually very light weight as well as a small power source...just make sure your drone can handle the additional weight and make sure to balance it out as well before flight...hope this Info helps out and good luck

@@srulison No problem Steve and hopefully your drone plan works out for you and all goes well...I ended up losing my drone in a massive abandoned rock quarry that's flooded with 45 feet of water...the one aspect I didn't take into consideration was the additional weight of the action camera I added to the drone it affected its range...long story short that sucker dropped out of the sky like a brick...never to be seen again...lol so practice and learn your drones behavior before you lose it like I did...lol I'm gonna subb your channel and hopefully see some good drone shots...best of luck to you

I made it's first test flight with the new camera mounted and it was a success it affects it's altitude and range a little bit due to the additional weight but not much...when I get better at flying it I'll upload the video

Hello James no this does not have a gimbal but the action camera has/had great image stabilization unfortunately there will be no flying coverage as I lost the Drone flying it over a massive rock quarry the quarry is 200 feet deep and is flooded with water what happened was I think the added weight of the action camera affected it's range and it just fell out of the sky 😢 thank you for watching

Yes you can look into the mah Milliamp Hours in battery the bigger the number the longer the battery life but has to be same voltage The mAh capacity rating refers to the storage capacity available for a particular battery. A battery with a capacity rating of 1800 mAh could deliver a current of 1800mA for one hour. Higher mAh ratings for the same battery type will generally mean longer run times

Nice, I was just telling someone that I needed to use my action camera in place of the potato camera that came stock with the drone, when I went to show them my drone footage your video came up. A few questions: Do you still use the drone app to keep an eye on battery life and flight details or does your action cam support a wi-fi connection connection that you use to view the camera and record functions?

I gave mine a go after work with my campark action camera mounted. The drone app doesn't work without default camera, but the quality of the footage with my action camera was way better. I'll test connecting my action cam to my phone via wi-fi so I can use the phone screen to help navigate. I'll just have to keep the drone close as I get more flight time in and get better with it. I'm going to upload my footage to my channel shortly.

That don't make any since you bought that drone so you can use the drones WiFi and link to your phone there's so much you can do with the gps. The drones camera is much better at viewing from a distance that drone can go up to 1000 ft. That little action cam sucks. And install the bumpers because you only have 2 extra propellers and there red....besides that drone is only good for about 6 minutes of flight in fast mode. That drone comes with a app for smart phones now you went and put a dumb action camera that you need a SD card to save video.. Just download the app from the google play store with a smartphone much easier...Dude that drone camera shoots video in high def. And you can take pictures by pushing a button on the remote control your fucking up a great design. Over and out
