And by "assault" he got jabbed in the throat twice by Wyck, who also assaulted Jeff's camera guy. Jeff had to get a CT scan to make sure he was ok. It was captured on the gym's surveillance. A lot of people want Jeff to press charges, because yeah, that guy was a loser. He first threatened them verbally and then he came back with the cheap shots later.

I've been lifting since 1974, and I've personally known of a few cases 'roid rage: a powerlifter beat his girlfriend so bad that she had to go to the hospital as an inpatient. I've known two bodybuilders who got stabbed in road rage incidents. At a powerlifting gym where I trained, two super heavyweights got into a very heated argument, and we watched to see the epic battle. One guy just calmly walked away, and we all thought that was pretty anticlimactic...until the guy came back waving a .45 around. That seemed to settle the argument. A powerlifter I knew went to prison because he was on the patio of a popular bar, and some drunk got in his face. He just turned around and started to walk away. But the guy yelled, "Don't turn your back on me! I'm talking to you!" And the guy grabbed him by the shirt to spin him around. But you don't just spin a 270 pound guy around by his shirt, and the shirt just ripped. In response, the powerlifter quietly picked up a heavy wrought-iron chair and brained the guy. Somehow, the guy lived, but barely. But my own experience was quite different. I had been competing for 8 years, and I had aged out of the teen class and wanted to level up out of the novice class, so I booked a coach, and he hooked me up with a doctor. During the whole 12-week cycle, I felt happy, almost elated, most of the time. Nothing really bothered me at all. Granted, the doses were much lower than in the previous examples, but I still gained 30 pounds and managed to retain about 20 pounds of that. I think a lot depends on the compounds and the dosages. That said, it's pretty clear that any amount of Tren will mess you up.

His practice was in a historically seedy part of town, and outside of a few bodybuilders and power lifters, the majority of his practice seemed to include the working girls in the area…and a few boys, and more than a few that seemed somewhere in between. Seemingly, Dr. Milty was way ahead of his time in terms of gender affirming care.

This was helpful. I'm a woman who works out at a bodybuilding gym, and many of the men are on steroids. Only one of them has ever lost his shit at me, but it did happen, in September, and I'm not over it. It felt like being attacked by an animal. There was nothing behind his eyes. It side-stepped all the normal things that women can do to kind of reduce the intensity of a confrontation with a man. It was even worse because there were like 10 other men present but they were all either afraid of him too, or agreed with him, because no one said a word or tried to stop him. He didn't punch me but he made it clear that he was at great pains not to. It was just a verbal attack but I took a solid month off going to the gym at the same time of day. I still went daily, but I put a buffer of several hours which meant changing my work schedule. I'm not the same person after that. I suppose I'll get over it eventually but given that I used to admire him I feel totally weird about it. I guess I'm just lucky to be physically unharmed. I also know he's on cocaine so maybe it wasn't just steroids to blame. Ugh. Guys please try to not actually attack even if it feels good.

I'm natty and I get murderous urges any time I miss a bingo or make an obvious non-optimal play in Scrabble. Just today I finished a game, thanked my opponent, got up, straightened my tie and walked to the nearest empty bathroom, saw myself in the mirror and started viciously pounding the reflection with all my might. Even upon the mirror shattering and twisting my reflection into a grotesque cubist portrait of sanguine colors, I was so disgusted by my miss of PWNED$ that I instinctively spat on the shards that laid before me. That's when my mom entered the room and said "Congrats! Good game. I'll get you next time!" and I realized what primal instincts had taken over me. I don't think gear is for me.

Steroid-using males as a new gender category makes sense of the natural vs augmented categorical difference in competitive bodybuilding as the same thing as having a female versus male category in any other sport. It's literally the exact same logic.

Hey Dr Mike, just wanted to say that your videos really inspire me to keep continuing with my weight lifting journey. I’ve been lifting for over a year and I’ve loved it so much but you’ve made me seem to enjoy it more. You’ve helped me get better gains and you’re funny as hell, sometimes I find myself watching your videos just for the laughs when nothing else can make me chuckle. I hope to meet you someday Dr Mike. Keep on lifting and being a total badass 🤘

That sentence "steroids don't make you more aggressive, they just amplify your natural personality" is something I've personally said about natural testosterone. There's the myth that the reason men are seen as the "angry/aggressive" gender is because they have more testosterone, and I'm always trying to defend testosterone by saying that test doesn't cause anger, it just makes people more confident so the angry/aggressive men don't hide it.

Musth is a stage male elephants go through in mating seasons, where their testosterone levels skyrocket. Between 60-150 times the usual reproductive hormone balance, and many zoologists will tell you that this the the most dangerous animal on the planet in that period of time. Makes sense, it's a 5 ton animal with skin that regularly resists medium caliber bullets with tusks. Yikes. Human's hormonal biology and physiology works different, sure, but there's still a ballpark to be made in this instance. The neurological effects of massively elevated testosterone levels might somewhat blanketly apply among vertebrates and mammals.
