Dont be scared find an alignment guy and get ready to be taking your wheels on/off a lot 🤣 every other off day im at work (mechanic) messing with it. After this video im actually going to adjust them again 😂 maybe even the right way now. Its a fun process thoo. Make sure you have supporting parts too if needed, like for extra alignment adjustments.

patch dwyer alittle camber is fine, its not gonna wear your tires out faster. Stay under -2 degrees and youll be fine.

patch dwyer Kue Lee is right. A little camber doesn’t hurt and it’s super fun when you’re going through corners on the touge or the highway. I would highly advise to check your ride height after you do some negative cambers tho as it will be slightly lower (this is what happened to mine). 3 months in and the spring has settled thus reducing my ground clearance even more. Will be increasing the ride height by next week cause I can’t go through mall ramps with the current height.

You are right about adjusting the dampers. I didnt adjust them after a tein coilover install and I turned gay. Once I dialed them in correctly, I no longer had interest in the same sex. Never thought such a small thing like that would actually change your life like that.

One thing I've noticed with coilovers is sway bar links! Adjustable seat bar links I feel are looked over when doing coilovers. My 03 eclipse gs has been a hassle with the front being lowered.

@@budthestud9400 If you're going that far, might as well replace the rear sway bar to a stiffer one with multiple mounting points. I myself started with sway bar change (and new end links) - ran that for 6months, and THEN installed coilovers. Doing these in stages help me understand how each change impacted the car's behavior.

Is it just me or does watching Fitment Industries' videos make you want to buy car parts. Here I am having to replace my Maxima's CVT trans and I'm like, "Hmm..coilovers/wheels/tires... What a sensible useful modification to better improve the overall health, performance, and drivability of my car."

I purchased my rims and tires from fitment industry's. I wish i would of ordered my coilovers but instead i purchased mine from facebook market place but they hadnt been installed as the owner ended up totalling his car. I got the tien street z coilovers which didnt come with top hats. Make sure you get coilovers with top hats. Puttint together a coilover with no previous experience had me on youtube constantly. Plus trying to align my car without the proper camber kits and toe arms made the ride terrible. Just make sure to clean the threads (dont use a metal brush nylon brushes only) but other than that im very happy with how my ride feels now. After all the camber kits and alignment my car feels smooth. I love how it rides now and look forward to showing off my rims and lowered acura tl

Love when people buy a $3,500 coil over setup just to get an external fluid reservoir 100% for looks.... Just buy the $1,000 set, and buy an aluminum look-alike part with a fake line.... if it’s for show, who the hell cares, and you’ll save $2,500 which you can now use for the new engine because you bashed your oil pan on the ground, oil leaked out and you popped the engine.... perfect.

Getting more drop by loosening the preload to where the spring "wobbles" around. Good times. Or not using the soft keeper spring that some coilovers have so you can get another inch of drop. More good times. Lol.

I bought TEIN Flex Zs months ago, finally installed them yesterday along with ALL ( yes all ) new parts of the suspension ( adjustables where needed ), minus rear subframe itself, and roll bars. Not flexing but it's a 20 year old car with 125k so I do it ONCE, DO IT RIGHT...The Japanese are great at dialing in. The TEINS came 1.8 inch dropped fr/r 12k fr 10k r, preloaded, greased, with tamper stickers to ensure they go to the customer same as they left the factory. And they were perfect ( shout out to Redline 360 ) coming out the box. Long story longer lol, their ( TEIN ) setup didn't need touching ( dampening is a YOU thing ), the ride quality is like OEM ( just more precise ) and they made the car sit EXACTLY 2 fingers ( Loosely. I'm sure they'll settle a couple more millimeters)...Only problem is...That setup is for stock 16 inch wheels on 225/60 tires, and not the 18×8.5 245/40 wheel and tire combo I bought from Fitment Industries 😂😢. So yes I will be using the preload locking ring to adjust the height because TEIN has a 6 year old video telling me too. 😂😂😂

Usually when installing coilovers for the first time, it's a good idea to also install adjustable control arms and toe arms. It helps to correctly setup the alignment.

All this is why I don’t want coilovers. I don’t want a super low car. 1 to 1.5 inch drop is fine for me. I probably won’t even do that. Just adjustable shocks. I honestly haven’t even decided yet. All I know is for my needs (spirited and daily driving) coilovers are overkill. I’m actually thinking sway bars will make a noticeable difference for the average driver. Just my 2 pennys Ps: research spring rates people. Compare your stock spring rate to the lowering springs you’re planing on getting! Lower does not mean stiffer and stiffer isn’t always better.

Im in the middle of installing skunk2 pro-st full coilovers on my Integra. I ve done a ton of research on installing them to make sure I installe them correctly. However the info i researched says you can lower the car with the coilovers on the car by a loosening the lower locking collar and using the spanner wrench to turn the perchs above in order to spin the whole shock down into the threaded body. Why is this not a good idea? And why should I take them all the way off to make this adjustment?

The biggest rookie mistake is buying cheap ass coilovers. Better save your money and invest in a nice set of coilovers such as Megan Racing or BC Racing etc.). My cousin made the mistake of buying some cheap $500 coilovers for his 2004 BMW 540i and she rides like absolute shit now. We tried our best to dial it in, but overall, just not as good as a nice high quality set of coilovers. My 2001 Z3 3.0i is running a set of BC Racing and she rides so much better even though it has the odds stacked against it (shorter wheelbase, lighter, less structural rigidity since it’s an open top convertible).

So personal mistake. 1st time Lowering a vehicle on my own with a friend. mistake number one, Not getting the spanner wrenches from my buddy. Mistake 2, installing the coilovers at the height that I wanted. Mistake number 3, listening to my buddy on how to do it not knowing that he was installing them with no preload. Mistake 4, buying beaten up old coilovers for way too much. Mistake 5? Letting them be like this and rubbing for way too long and not fixing it because I'm lazy and it looks good.

I raised my fronts too high once and popped the shock body out of the mounting cup... had to pull both fronts out and reset them

I bought some function and form type 1 for my 9th gen to only drop maybe 3 inches and when I went to put my tires back my negative camber was soooo bad that the tire doesn’t even move. I didn’t mess with preload setting what so ever. Why did that happen?
