My mistake was not thinking about tire tread wear. Within eight months of a brand new set of wheels and tires I went from 100% tire tread to about half its life.

I had my g slammed on bc coils over last winter and I picked up some 18s and didn’t realize they had such a crazy stretch on them at first. So for the next two weeks I had to drive to my cousins house for work, every morning in a development with absolutely brutal speed bumps. After the two weeks my 6 month old tomei catback looked like a waffle.

I meant to add on my first comment about going from a 18x8 with 225/45/18 to a 235/40/18 X 9.5. It’s literally a night and day difference on handling performance. Also the look is so good. You can see on my channel plus I got some BCracing Coilovers coming so I can take off my eibach pro kit lowering springs and KYB gas x struts. Lol

Pretty much ever since I got my E34 I wanted to be part of that "stance" crew, get wheels that were poking out and run stretched tires. I've had my Rondell 0053 8.5 and 10 R17 for this summer and I've decided that I actually like the meaty setup better. I was running 225/45 in the front and 235/45 in the rear. I'll be putting up my wheels for sale this winter and will get some 8 and 9 style 5s or something and run the OEM setup on those. Can't wait.

So tell me, the guy I bought my wheels from said a 235/45 will fit a 19.5 inch wheel. He had the same car as me, but he had a Genesis 5.0 R-Spec. I have the base 3.8 (sedan) and already placed an order on General Altimax tires. I couldn't go with a 245 bc it runs in the back. He had Nitro Neo Gens and it had a bit of stretch. Can Generals stretch too?

Personally I would go with maybe Federal or Nankang as I know from what I have seen online from others that they stretch fairly well if not the best! Can't say I honesty have heard of people stretching Generals all that much, Hope this helps! - Erik

I went from a 18X8 wheel with 225/45/18 and it was just normal. Normal driving and normal everything else. No stretch or poke. Now I got new xxr wheels and they are 18X9.5 with 235/40/18.
