"Much of the discussion of AI has focussed around the imagined capabilities of AI since humans don’t control it. This is why there are myriad AI experiments going on right now within all levels of human and non human systems from life to death processes. No knows how AI will rescript the human narrative and the human environment since it is a day to day updating work in progress. Although much of what is talked about is after-the-face outcome harm, it is harm trained to it by the humans who only give lip service to life enhancing concepts like "do no harm", "trust" "compassion". I have really been watching AI since 2015 when they began deleting analog/leggo block systems and replacing with digits and have begun to realize that the old adage "intentional harm self destructs" may come true with AI since it cannot be programmed to immunize and separate those who intend harm from the outcome that is always paid by innocents. In other words, you can lie to yourself but not to AI since AI absorbs only data that is attached to a human function, not data that is non existent. Admonitions to humanity to self correct have been ongoing since before I was born and I am 75 now and nothing has come close to providing an incentive to replace the desire for single ego building, so I don't expect any change now that AI has made self harm/suicide into a weaponized political movement that is both pleasurable and addictive. The way out for those of us who can't understand such vacant desires, let alone act on them, is that we must use our finite resources to understand how to control and shape AI into harm mitigating processes, one of which by experiment is being unpredictable since AI algos depend upon predictability. Canned creation so to speak! The imagination from which AI is being focussed is from the damaged worldview of the self loathing “outsider” that longs to create a uptopian world for itself to feel love and belonging. Yes it is infantile and really nauseating to me, but I can’t ignore it as it is the mindset that is focussing the ever expansive encroachments of AI to shape the globe into servicing a single, damaged desire to become a "god" in an non rotting body. Maybe as you would say a "god" of the charnal grounds.
