Thank you! I bought a Weber Genesis 2 grill over the summer and I'm thinking of doing a rotisserie turkey for Thanksgiving this year. I did a search and found your channel. I appreciate you and your videos! I can't wait to try it now!

Hey Darnell, I'm curious if a rib roast is on your list of items to smoke in the near future. Passed up a prime rib roast at Costco the other day and was really tempted to buy it. Before I drop $100 I'd like to see it done the right way. Cheers.

Does it make a difference if my burner tubes run the opposite way? As long as you use the outside burners?

GOOD VIDEO!!!Happy Thanksgiving TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ALSO!!! THAT TURKEY LOOKED GOOD!!! Trussing A Turkey/Chicken is KINDA TRICKY.I PRACTICED BY TRUSSING AND COOKING CHICKENS!!! IF YOU CAN TRUSS A CHICKEN,YOU CAN TRUSS A TURKEY.A TURKEY IS JUST A BIG CHICKEN!!!

I can do it with just 1 or 2 pieces of string when _not_ on camera. But on camera it always gets mixed up 🤣👍🏿

Nice video, wonder why BBQ makers don't raise mounts and cover holes for rotisseries, or make them adjustable to allow somewhat larger diameter birds and other foods. Have a spare propane tank, it's a pain to run out before turkey is done.
@DGrill4 жыл бұрын
Yup, always keep a spare 👍🏿

Thanks for your great work. Question: on my Genesis 2, the rotisserie is so low, that the meet constantly bumps into the pan. How have you solved this problem?
@DGrill4 жыл бұрын
Truss it tight.
@bangmedia13 жыл бұрын
@@DGrill From what I've seen elsewhere (including official Weber videos) you are supposed to remove the grates under the drip pan. That is: You place the drip pan directly on top of the flavorizer bars. This leaves room for the rotisserie. (edit: I originally typed "flavorizer bars" - meant grates!)
@DGrill3 жыл бұрын
What others do isn't what I am "supposed to do". I do as I determine good for my use. I leave mine for my purposes, you can remove yours.
@thomaspgumpel85433 жыл бұрын
@@bangmedia1 if you do that, on what does the pan rest?
@bangmedia13 жыл бұрын
@@thomaspgumpel8543 I mistyped - meant to remove the grates - not the flavorizer bars! (now corrected).

An infrared burner can make rotisserie food come to life. Without one you might as well just be roasting it

Nice. If you want a larger turkey on there, remove the middle flavorizers, use a smaller pan and turn it the other way.
@DGrill4 жыл бұрын
Then I can't use the middle burner. Not to mention putting my warranty at risk, since they flavorizor bar is to be in place. And any dripping through the pan would go into the burner.
@JoeAnshien4 жыл бұрын
@@DGrill You were not using your middle burner anyway. Foil line the drip pan if your worried about leaking. I would not worry about the burners. They are quite cheap and easy to replace, but even getting fat on them will not damage them. They also pop out and are easy to clean. I restored and flipped about 20 Webers last summer. Also Weber said you can roto a 20lb turkey. Let them prove it as I don't see another way;-)
@DGrill4 жыл бұрын
I will let you do the proving, restoring and so on. My grills all still have their original equipment and I don't desire doing repairs. I have a smoker for my big turkeys. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6S9dmhspNqMbNU
