They should of made the 800 a click pen just like the 600 and used the twist mechanism as a lock so it wouldn’t click in your pocket, kinda how they do it on the 800 mechanical pencil.

I have both the 600 & 800 (in silver or whatever). Just popped a Fisher refill in both with the Parker adapter and everything works fine. It even stopped the annoying nib clicking when writing with the 800.

The 800+ (version with the Stylus) I've had for about 4 years now. Easily my fav pencil for writing and drawing. It just feels the right weight and size for me.

Same. I use the 800+ and 800 daily - and do mean daily - with no problems whatsoever. When I got it I promised myself I wouldn't give it any special treatment. So I carry it in my breast pocket at work. I dislike carrying the 600. It pokes holes in my pockets and I'm just afraid of bending the tip - so it never leaves my home-office table.

FYI the Schmidt P8126 does NOT fit in the (new) Rotring 600. It’s too fat... I have the Schmidt Easy Flow 9000 for now and will likely try to get some of those Jetstream refills.

I love my rOtring 600's pencils and pens. My rOtring 800 pencil's threading failed on me. Supper annoyed. I am STILL a rOtring fan though. Should I get the 800 ballpoint? Suggestions please!

As a business owner, I will just be expensing the rOtring 800. I do like the twist mechanism, and the golden accents. It looks like a far higher quality bit of kit, and the top click down mechanism you can get on most pens.

I've got both and I'm surprised no-one has mentioned the increased barrel and twist diameters on the 800. Pushes the balance too far back for me. Bloody irritating since a got the 600 after and would not have bothered with the 800 had I not gone the [shiny gold] magpie route first......:)

Is it possible to fit a pentel energel LR7 refill by cutting a bit of the plastic refill off

Are their finishes slightly different? I've had the 600 for several months now, and just picked up the 800. Looking at them both side by side the finishes are slightly different the 800 is slightly more matte than the 600, and the rotring logo on the 800 is slightly more dull.

Anyone familiar with a Rotring 600 "KS" old version/style ballpoint pen. It looks to have a 600 barrel and push action with selectable ink colour indicator window, yet appears to have the 800 style retractable ballpoint-nib sleeve with gold accents top and bottom ends. Was this a genuine Rotring version, or fake?

I see, thanks for the info. Yes indeed the old KS version looks very desirable. Guess I’ll have to start saving over time and if money eventually permits, then the challenge will be identifying & obtaining an authentic one (in other words avoiding any possible fakes).

very bad pen after few months there is many scratches and black color has been erased with normal use
