Rachel, they are just beautiful! I showed my 8 year old granddaughter a snippet of your teaching. She is a lefty and sometimes it’s hard for her when I show her. She practices on a muslin scrap. I have always felt that you have inspired me since I saw your Jessie Cooley piece!! Thanks so much. You are an amazing talented woman. I think you were reading my mind. Embroidery is so hard to come by (along with so many other things), so I have been watching some embroidery videos so I can make some of my own. You not only in less than an hour taught me some simple but beautiful stitches but also that I can do it on paper. Thank you, thank you! If would like to share more, I would love to learn! These are fantastic, I used to embroider when I was a kid and into my 20s when embroidering on chambray shirts for your boyfriend was popular. I recently embroidered on a vintage envelope. It had been so long I had to look up how to make a daisy. It was really hard to embroider on paper because it’s not forgiving if you stick your needle up in the wrong spot you’ve got a hole and you can’t really hide it. Needless to say I haven’t done it again since I did that one envelope it was in a journal that sold so I don’t even have it anymore. You make me want to try again. I’ve never heard of the colonial stitch either.

Love love love it. I’m a fan of a U.K. textile artist, Ann Brooks. She does YT Sew 4 the Soul videos each month with us and her snippet rolls are just glorious. Worth a look. These little embroideries are so beautiful. I love creating with the French Knot, but thisbisbthe first time I have seen the Colonial Stitch. Very wonderful. I love embroidery...can see I will need to get one of the silicone thimbles. Thank you, Rachel. This was great.

“A wee little video” … is that even possible? 🤣 Well, it WAS under an hour, so you could say ‘wee’. At any rate, it was a lovely video, watching you make clusters. Did I almost climb out of bed in the middle of the night to make clusters? I had to fight the urge, but this morning, I’m surrounded by tons of scraps. It’s fun! Thank you for sharing and inspiring! Xo 😘

Oh my gosh these are beautiful. I love hand embroidery it's such a lost art. My mom just passed and my sister was going through her stuff and came across 4 full boxes of embroidery floss. I love slow stitching also

Saw you use a bottle pattex glue we have here in the Netherlands and i was happy about it because i use that bottle but i didn't know it was pva glue but it's very good and i can buy it in bulk so that's a good thing. I like the way you work and interact with your kids very much, it's almost that we have a nice come together and craft with a cup of coffee or tea. Thank you

Love these Rachel, l have been meaning to make these for a while now thanks for the inspiration. A good tip for the parts with thicker paper - pre prick the hole with a thumb tack it makes it so much easier to sew through. Tfs hugs Susanna xx

You had me hooked on having a go at these after just showing the first one!!!😍😍 Gorgeous work. You are right about Vivs beautiful creations. One day when the exchange rate is better I’d love to own a piece of her work. I envy you doing a Class with Yoko. I was lucky enough to visit her shop in Japan and she was there and had just finished with a class in her room. I got to meet her and take a pic with her, fan girl moment!! 😊 The quilts and fabric in the store were amazing. X
