It's most likely just a Black Legion Khornate Champion rather than a World Eater. World Eaters are a specific Legion of Traitor-Astartes and in many source books and materials, Khornate Marines, particularly Champions, all have the same styled of armour in each Legion except the Thousand Sons (who have none, at least not without breaking lore) due to the fact the worship of Khorne is to wear his colours and iconography over your Legions. A great example is the descriptions by Graham McNiell in the Iron Warriors Omnibus as well as during several of the Horus Heresy novels when the Legions first start to fall and be warped. World Eaters are universally almost all Khornate worshippers due to the fact they are forced into an aggression based insanity by their implants and the easiest way to recognize them is based off their pauldron iconography. Unfortunately this particular Marine doesn't have any easily identifiable emblems to mark them as belonging to any particular Legion, so the most accurate assessment is to assume they are still a warrior of the Black Legion (who are effectively the poster-child of the Chaos Legions). The other aspect is that the classification of worship within a Legion has become very muddied in recent editions with a lot of retconning of previous lores and alterations but with the Black Legion specifically, they are one of the few Traitor Legions which worship all Chaos Gods near equally with a general doctrine of Chaos Undivided in comparison to other Legions which might worship a specific Chaos God over the other. Examples are World Eaters being almost exclusively Khorne or Thousand Sons being exclusively Tzeentch or Death Guard being exclusively Nurgle with very few exceptions.

Worthy of note is how that red chaos marine was a berzerker of the World Eaters, who worship Khorne, the demon god of bloodshed, martial strength, and rage. Berzerkers are one of the *scariest* things you can face in melee combat in all of 40k, _and to see one of those giant raging murder boners sprinting straight at you in a closed corridor and not even let the tiniest fart of fear out in your own unwavering heroic charge towards such an enemy shows just how truly badass and scary the Kriegs themselves are._

But important to say, they are not just fanatical suiciders. They will sacrifice themself without a blink, but not in vain. Let's say there is a unit of Necrons aproaching your position, so you send few individuals to charge them and stall them, so the rest of your guys can shoot the necrons to scrap, while without the sacrifice of those few charging soldiers, your whole unit would be anihilated. Thats how they think. They welcome death, but they don't wish to die in wain, for they have a duty to the Emperor.

A cool little factoid if you havent noticed: Around 7:15, when the Kriegers charge the Chaos Marine, they are not just stabbing randomly. They are actually stabbing between the armor plates, trying to gunk up the thing.

The shovels are a delightful holdover from the WWI inspiration that the Death Korps came from. As it turned out, the trench shovels were _disturbingly_ good melee weapons. It was a meat cleaver and a quintuple-wide bayonet that didn't reliably get stuck or snap upon lodging itself in a corpse. Also, the reason the Krieg cavalry was so effective was in large part because of their lances. There's only a moment to see it spark, but the tips are basically shaped-charges meant for punching holes in armored targets. Some other Guard regiments have that, though, and it's usually traitor militia armored vehicles that are targets, but Krieger cavalry are bred and conditioned to be almost suicidally fearless and uncaring. It's good stuff.

The Death Korps of Krieg are the funky ww1 uniformed guys who are considered one of the most Zealous grunt regiments. Although many of people call them space Germans of ww1 they are a mixture of French uniform/helmet dyed grey or German depending on the animator with many elements such as German and British influences on their uniforms. Krieg literally means war, I would highly recommend reacting to Majorkill's explanation of those guys. Kriegers naturally specialise with Trench Warfare so there's always a joke about bayonet charging a hostile chaos marine with a bayonet or a shovel

They essentially are Space Germans though, even has the Geballte Ladung (anti-tank grenade made from Stielhandgranate), the Imperium symbol in place of the Totenkopf that some WW1 units worse and even the futuristic body armour that takes inspiration from the trench plate armour that Germany used. 2:48 These are marines from the Black Legion (formerly known as "Sons of Horus" and before that as "Luna Wolves") - one of the 9 space marine legions that betrayed the Imperium during the Horus Heresy. The green-armored loyalist space marines here are Dark Angels (I think you were thinking of the Salamanders - there are several legions/chapters that wear green armor). 4:41 THAT was a mistake from the Chaos officer. The flare gave away their position to the Kriegers' artillery. 5:27 To keep with the WW1 theme. When large scale trench warfare on the western front started, high command on all sides expected the soldiers to storm the enemy trenches with their bayonets, which seems reasonable at first until you realise that most trenches were too narrow for long weapons to be wielded effectively and bayonets also had the nasty tendency of getting stuck in between the ribs of the enemy, so the soldiers started to use them as knifes instead or improvise weaponry. The standard issue field shovel had a short handle and sharpened edges (meant to make digging through tough ground easier), which qualified it as an improvised battle axe. The Krieger from 40k just follow the same principle. 6:23 That's a Khornate Berserker. He's dedicated himself to the blood god, that's why he's wearing red armor with the skull rune painted on it and why - even by space marine standards - he's an absolute beast in melee. The one Krieger suicide bombing him was nothing special by the way. There's a reason why they are called the DEATH Korps.

The Death Korps of Krieg is one of my favorite imperial guard factions right up there with the Steel Legion. The Death Korps are the guys in the gasmasks and they are one of the most fanatical troops in the guard. Their home world Krieg had a civil war between a lot of rebels against the emporium and a handful of loyalists. after nuking their planet into oblivion they continued fighting underground for centuries (hence the specialization in close quarters and trench warfare) until finally the loyalists won. The survivors of Krieg decided the only way they could make up for their ancestors rebellion was to fanatically fight and die for the emporium. The Death Korps looks forward to death in service to the Emperor in order to atone and it is glorious!

Hey i haven't seen anyone say this but here it is: The tanks that was escorting the guardsmen was called a "Leman Russ". Its the MBT of the Imperial guard it has many variants. We can also see that the sponson guns (heavy bolters). Many 40k tanks have them but NOTHING is even close to beings scary as the "Baneblade". Btw im hoping you are still reading comments cus theres a lot to learn about 40k!

Well the baneblade is big and scary for sure. but the biggest functual tank the IG is dropping to planets (according to book lore atleast) would be the Leviathan HQ Tanks. According to the book i read, 20 baneblades would fit into that monstrosity of a tank. I think seeing one of those rolling around firering Titan class guns, can only be topped by said Titans in fear inducing.

The Death Korp of Krieg (Krieg is the name of their home planet, but also Krieg is german and means = War) is a reference to the germans in ww1, thats why they have the shovels, they were the melee weapon for german soldiers in the trenches ^^

This is my favorite group in Warhammer 40k. I am so hyped that you watched this. It shows them off so well and how they see things and function. 2 things to keep note of. Artillery is still firing even when they are in the trenches. So they don't mind if they get blown up by their own stuff. Second of all, they are using horses in 40k. 40k is insanely OP yet they use horses and spears... Like wtf. The green space marines are Dark Angles. Dark Angles have a lot of secrets.

it's a battle between imperium vs chaos (most probably are elements of traitor guards since they looks more professional compared to common chaos cultist) the green uniformed guards are the Cadian regiments, renowned as the best imperial guards regiment in the imperium, notice they put a bloody good resistance despite being ambushed, they only start faltering until the black legion (the black colored chaos space marine) came into the picture. the green space marine are from dark angel chapter, they have the dark green color power suit and insignia bearing a sword and wings. they are super though, even being pierced through by a freaking missile doesn't kill them. the masked one is of course the death korps of Kriegs, one of the most popular if not the most popular imperial guards regiment in warhammer 40k fandom. the gas mask and grey great coat is their signature, along with their willingness to die for the emperor. if you haven't notice, they charge trench line before even the artillery starts firing. heck they even bayonet charging a freaking khorne berzerker (the red chaos space marine with the chain sword) without a shred of hesitation.

The guys with the gas masks are the Death Korps of Krieg, who are a guardsmen regiment with a focus on sieges, trench warfare and are unafraid of death. The troops in the beginning of the film, with the tanks are Cadians, another guardsmen regiment that is overall balanced, due to the nature of their homeworld. The Space Marine in green is from the Dark Angels chapter of space marines. The "evil space marines" are Chaos space marines.

The Chaos-spacemarines in black armor were The Black Legion. The Spacemarine in red armor was Khorne's berserker(yes, the one who likes to shout "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD") from the World Eaters legion. You can see legion marks at pauldrons.

You might consider playing Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 1. It's an RTS 40k game and has fantastic voice acting and campaign for its older age. You play as Space Marines (the Blood Ravens chapter) but in the DLCs, you can play as many others. The more recent (DoW2 and DoW3) installments don't even get close when it comes to the gameplay experience. It's on Steam right now and I can 100% recommend it!

Funny thing about Krieg is that there are statements that say they send their soldier as early as they can. So it is entirely possible that those guys who charged a gunline and a spacemarine where only about 16 years old.

@@Thorfinn_Son_Of_Thors then you guys would love the Deathwatch Chapter. Imagine Deathkorps of Krieg but as Space Marines. They are formerly known as Black Shields, which are composed of the Remnants of Traitor Legions, still loyal to the Emperor (Emperor's Children, Iron Warriors, Alpha Legion, Thousand Sons, Night Lords, etc..). But as time went on and the Traitor Legions committed more horrible atrocities, the Marines of the Black Shield were so ashamed of their former Legion, that they stripped off evey Rune and Insigina of their Armor, painted heir Armor Black and changed their Name into the, now a days known, Deathwatch. They are taken under the Wing of the Inquisition and put into the Ordo Xenos and operate mostly against Tyranids. They work as "kill Teams" and use unorthodox and unconventional Methods of Warfare, even to the point to sacrifice themselves for the Emperor. Kinda like the Deathkorps.

It's so nice seeing people getting / getting back into warhammer nowadays. There is a big wave of newcomers recently and that's so cool. the hobby is expensive but since we spend lot of time building / converting / painting and then play games with people, in the long run it's definitely worth it :) Have fun starting your wargaming and I'll be looking for your start in this hobby.

So yes, "Krieg" (pronounced "kreeg" ) is German for war and those lances are really cool as they can cut through infantry as well as tanks as they have a armor piercing shape charge right behind the pointy bit. 😎

If that tank crewman looks a bit unsettled by the Krieg, its because he really is. Most other guardsmen units don't like deployments with the Krieg due to their suicidal nature and very uneasy presence. The Krieg will most likely cause a moral shock to many other guardsmen units they're with.

If you get shot, then congrats. You just protected the man behind you. 3. If you die, then congrats. You just joined the sandbag division.

The part where they enter the bunker, the chaos space marines there are Khorne marines and the ones earlier in the ambush are called black legion space marines. Glad to help, keep up the vids dude😊👌

Fun fact:the leman russ (the tank in this video) has a hull mounted heavy bolter (basically it fires slightly larger bolts that the standard bolter used by the space marines and at a very fast fire rate) and it can have 2 more with extensions in both sides

You are absolutely right, those were Chaos Space Marines. Specifically Black Legion (in the black and gold armor) and a Khorn Berserker (the red one in the tunnel). As for the Guard, those were Cadians marching with the tanks and the Death Corps of Krieg are the guys in trench coats and gas masks (they specialize in trench and tunnel warfare). The people they were fighting were Traitor Guard, members of the Imperial Guard who have sided with Chaos. Oh, and the green armored Space Marines are Dark Angels.

Yes they were chaos space marine from one of the traitor legions and it looked like the first two were undivided and the second one was khornite so he’s was a world eater (the name of their legion) and the first twos legion is either alpha legion (which is also part loyalist because two primarchs) or night lord or world bearer or the black legion also the guys with the gas masks are the death korps of kreig which are all genetically made to have no fear because their all clones

The Death Korps of Kreig (as in German, like Kreigsmarine, sans the marine part) are part of the imperial guard, the shovel thing is a bit of a meme. The green space marines are Dark Angels - or Salamanders, but usually everything is on fire with the Salamanders Also, "The Faith" might be worth checking out, another fan made vid
