@phh24005 ай бұрын
@@gurdimeikenskjaldi5060 "not really?" it is modified so it is not look exactly same... cockpit, bigger engine intake, two propellers, different wheels, yes.. but the overall shape and the canard placement, propeller at aft and the rudder placement on wings - well that's still Shinden underneath. What the jet plane look like to you? I see it as a modified Crusader (front) and EE Lighting (fuel tank placement on top of wings) again in canard design.
@gurdimeikenskjaldi50605 ай бұрын
@@phh2400 it's only the concept but if you look well at it that plane has the structure of a modern post 1960 jet fighter, while the shinden has the layout as a typical WW2 figther with the cockpit placed in a more central area. And has no big intake. I think it's not directly inspired but a sort of evolutionary convergence. I can't do much here (I'm on phone with bad Internet sorry xO) the movie pilot promo has a different design that resembles a biiiiiiiit more the Shinden. At least the silhouette. About the cool jet fighter I have no idea tbh, I didn't imagine any close inspiration but gotta say the crusader has some elements in common!

Earth-grounded military anime of any kind, if it isn't "comical/hysteric", doesn't make it to the masses. Pretty much why Girls und Panzer is the only one to become widespread enough. Violet Evergarden ALSO made it into mainstream, but mostly because Kyoto Animation did it. Gundam and Yamato don't count because they are much more a space fiction. 86, Arpeggio, Skycrawlers, nothing works...

Out of all the animations and movies and japanese anime that I've ever seen, Royal Space Force Wings of Honneamise continues to surpass the feeling any other thing I have seen. I enjoy seeing this to modern music, it gives me a weird feeling of bliss. Animation like this is like Ancient Art Its something that will never be done ever again, its a remarkable stone/landmark in animation, its an aesthetic and style that is intemporal, and will be duplicated but never Passed. Its a testimony to the talent and work of these craftsmen that will be frozen in time where we look back at it fondly and with marvel in our eyes, but we know deep down, that this is it, there will never be something like it ever again.

Retrofuturism, it's going to an era in time, and studying the technology and industrial process, and making advanced machines with it, with a modern understanding of science.
