I don't know why, but this particular video made me cry real tears of grief. She's been the Queen my entire life (and the entire life of my mum!) and one just believed she'd always be there. She looks more frail in this video in a way I hadn't noticed the last few years. I think we took it for granted that we'd never lose her. Grief comes in stages and seeing Her Majesty return to Buckingham Palace for her Lying-In-State today is bringing it home that she's really left us. No one will ever be quite like her and we're all the poorer in spirit for her loss. Rest in eternal peace, Your Majesty. Thank you for everything. 🕊️🤍

However, there is an important distinction to be understood between Queen Elizabeth and a future Queen Catherine. Queen Elizabeth is Queen REGNANT, where as Catherine may one day be titled Queen CONSORT. Queen Regnant means that Elizabeth II is the actual monarch (the Head of State). There is no King right now. Elizabeth inherited the crown following the death of her Father, King George VI, who did not have a son. As King George VI's oldest daughter, Elizabeth inherited the crown and became the monarch and received the title Queen Regnant, which differentiates her from a Queen Consort. There is never a King and Queen Regnant at the same time. If the monarch is male, then he is titled King, and if the monarch is female, then she is tiled Queen Regnant. If Catherine is one day titled as the Queen, she would be the Queen Consort...meaning wife of the King. She would be Queen only by virtue of her marriage to the King...not because she is of royal blood. William, as King, would be the monarch. All of the power and duty of the crown is vested in the monarch, not their spouse, who is also known as their Consort. So, Catherine's role as Queen would be completely different than that of Queen Elizabeth II. Queen Elizabeth II, as Queen Regnant, is the actual Sovereign, as a King would be if the monarch were male.

Charles is going to have to be very careful about his behavior is king. He has a lot of baggage and there are many people who don’t wanna monarchy anymore. But he’s used to doing whatever he wants.

One of the most endearing qualities of Queen Elizabeth was how easily she was able to speak with the common person. She wasn't haughty or aloof, she carried herself like a queen and needed nothing else to show that she was. A truly extraordinary person in every regard, she will be missed by all no matter your nationality or social status. This from an American admirer.

US veteran here. It's great seeing the Canadian soldiers in their uniforms and looking sharp for the queen. Also interesting seeing the difference in their uniforms from the ones I wore when I served. Met Canadian soldiers rarely during my time. But every time I did they were professional and great guys to talk to.

Neil Shawn always calls the Queen, "our gracious Queen," and this video shows she is most deserving of that description. She didn't just shake hands or nod and walk past each man, she stopped and actually spoke with each one in a personal way. She is indeed very gracious, and those men will never forget that day. God save the Queen! 🇺🇲❤️🇬🇧
