Honest Opinion: I really dislike the moving sprites on this channel. They seem to screw things up sometimes like the gardevoir placement and Brenden disappearing briefly, and I think they are an overall distraction and don’t make things look nicer.

10:50 in my opinion from a manga readers perspective i would replace the garchomp with a potential tyranitar for several reasons. first off tyranitar would fit the green color scheme all of wallys pokemon had had during the ruby and sapphire arc. second its power would help out the cacturne he also has which along with flygon was his only muscle on his team. and third and this one is more of a what if scenario but what if ruby mentions to wally about his home region of jhoto and wally on rubys recommendation travels to jhoto's rural environment to help out with his breathing issues. and while on this journey in his friends home region he encounters a larvitar that eventually becomes this tyranitar. it would be a neat way to link wally's friendship with ruby by ruby introducing wally to the region where ruby originally belonged to.

Crobat is essential in Silver's team because it also shows Silver's character development, as he grows to care more about his pokemon as companion, not just as tool. That makes his Golbat earn enough friendship & happiness to evolve into Crobat

Funny since the manga does a similar development plan but in a different way. In the manga silver stole his starter class Pokémon and due to this they start out on uneven terms which is why it’s frustration attack is very strong at this point. And by the end of the gold silver and crystal arc the now fraligator is fully on board with silvers cause and this is best show when silver fights one of his old allies now enemy with this same fraligator that now knows the move return show how tight their bond is now.

8:47 and fun fact since you didn't mention it or do not know but sapphire was originally wanting her kirlia to evolve into a gardevior as at this particular time she was training both rubys and her own kirlia with intentions of having them evolve at the same time. however at the point of their evolution a small earthquake rocks the cave that she and emerald were in and due to this a random dawn stone falls out from the cliff of the cave and it falls on her kirlia evolving it into the gallade that we know.

Favorite part about this: Silver’s magneton. Yeah sure, he COULD go all the way to sinnoh to evolve it. But would he bother? Absolutely not. He works exactly the way I do when it comes to Pokémon with weird evolution methods: Slap an eviolite on it and call it a day. Ya know... If they let the rivals use hold items (WHICH THEY SHOULD)

Loved the video, and I agree with all the choices but if I'm being honest, none of their teams would be used by alot of people except for Brendon's, as they have type overlaps, and May has got THREE FIGHTING TYPES along with two fire and two grass types Maybe to fix May's team a bit, you could get rid of Breloom as it offers no new typing she didn't already have and change Gallade to Gardevoir as she would only have one type overlap like most of the other rivals

I still picture wally with a gallade but opinions are opinions. The point is that we both agree that he has an evolution of ralts gaurenteed. I just feel like gallade is more associated with him than gardavoir. He has gallade in ORAS, sun and moon, and masters. And, from what I remember either never evolved his kirlia before ora's, or only had gardavoir in the 2 to 3 earlier games.

hm, you skipped over some rematches and battle facility teams... most notably brendan/may's gaps of not full 6 team members could also be patched by the claydol and exploud they use in the battle maison... also, blue used heracross and tyranitar in the rematch of FR/LG. heracross was only in that one battle, so it's understandable he didn't make the cut. tyranitar was a post-game replacement of rhydon with superior stats and less weaknesses and came back in the battle tree, but again i get it if for the sake of historic connection he sticks to rhydon for his top 6, could have evolved it to rhyperior though, as he did evolve him in the gen 4 and gen 7 games.

I would only change one, Raichu un Brendan's team, if you're following May's Gallade in the manga, why not stick with Gardevoir with Brendan? She got it because she wanted to have the same pokemon as him and it turned out to evolve differently. Great vid and content! love the new production!

Mostly agreed with the teams chosen, especially Blue. Couldn’t disagree with Wally’s team more. Garchomp makes no sense and canonically Wally’s Ralts was retconned to be a Gallade

Wally's starter should be Gallade, no question. He clearly treasures Gallade quite a bit, as you need a strong bond with your Pokemon to achieve Mega Evolution. Mega Gallade has been Wally's stable ever since ORAS. He has it again in Sun and Moon and even Masters gives him Gallade as a Sync Pair. If that's not enough proof, think about this. Who cared about Wally before he got Mega Gallade? Seriously, who cared about Wally before that? Mega Gallade was Wally's proof of actually growing into a competent trainer and it made the fanbase actually respect him.
