The running animation still needs a lot of work. Would be nice to see some variation in body shapes and styles. They all look the same. The goal kicking animation also could do with a lot of work. Just look like he takes a casual swing at it with out applying in force or momentum to kick it further.

One of the weird animations is it seems that everyone that catches a pass runs into it and takes it behind them, sort of stopping the momentum to pass to the next person. overall this looks much better than the initial build! thanks for keeping us updated.

Yeah, they seem to have tried to work on momentum but its not perfect yet. One of the most annoying animations for me is when doing a small kick over the defensive line, your player just stops on a dime after the kick and waits for it to bounce before chasing, which is completely useless 😂

@@MaDDragonRugby ah man I remember something similar happening in the Rugby challenge series but your player would chase and as soon as the ball bounced near them they would just stop dead in their tracks. But this definitely is starting to come together, some animations will be smoothed out. Game devs have done some serious work to get this to where it is. Look forward to some more updates

Hopefully major patch out soon, im tempted to look at a livestream this week, have now played some online games, want to work out the in game talk before doing a livestream, because you could join a game with someone who just says horrendous stuff and gets the stream taken down. If I can mute opponents I would love a livestream.

Yeah they still got some sounds to sort out, I enjoy dialogue lines being in the game, but the issue is theres about 5 so you hear the same ones all the time.

Wow I’m really pleasantly surprised. When it first came out I was truly disappointed, it was quite literally a reskinned version of their rugby league game. But it’s clear that the CEO wasn’t bs’ing about clearly wanting to improve the game. I’m very impressed with how the developers have stuck to their guns and continued to develop it. Exciting to see what they can do later.

The far out end camera is SO much better than any of the other views, I think. Being able to see the pitch, and spot where people are is a good thing, otherwise you are just playing blind! If it feels too easy to find space with kicks, I'd say that's an issue with the player positioning and opposition AI.

They could randomize kicks more. Like, if you have 70/100 kick stats. 30% of the time you kick the ball not where you aimed.

Its certainly the best view point from a tactical standpoint, being able to see the whole pitch in 1 go. I personally dont like it because the game becomes way to easy due to the ability to just place kicks where you want. Really hard for the AI to cover the back field when you can aim a kick however you want at any second. And would be very hard as a human player when you can only control one player at a time. So basically every possession you could run to half way, land a pin point 50:22 then maul over for a try, then on the restart run back to the half way line and repeat and there isnt really a counter.

Kick pressure from AI needs to be implemented (situationally) rucks on the tram lines where it’s high probability for a box kick, and like wise if you drop your 10 back for 50:22. There needs to be that awareness from AI in and around the halfway line to pressure kicks. Hopefully with implementing strategies you can position your bck3 to cover those kicks…

Man i really hope they do something with the goal kicking animation cos no one in rugby kicks like that. 😢 Also would be nice to see an animation where the player carries ball in 2 hands and when they break the line, they can hold it one hand while sprinting. The games looking much better tho. 🔥

Would love to see the bodies actually lean into the turns like rugby 22, only thing I loved about that game, felt nice to technically do a little step just by turning if that makes sense

Great video MaD Dragon. It's nice you didn't encounter any crashes. I also liked that you spotted the occasion where a player passed through the other player like he was a ghost. The animations seem improved, like the tilting of the body you mention is very nice, bur still need further improvement and variety. Finally, although I know it isn't top priority, I would like the conversion kicks at some point of Early Access to become more challenging because they are super easy and you have 100% success so far. But the game is progressing very well and it's becoming with every update more enjoyable to play.

I think its heading that way, Ive now been able to play some online matches for a video tomorrow, not perfect but actually enjoyable and very smooth multiplayer, with more development time this game will be great.

This video has made me want to purchase the game. It looks more legit. I thought it would be like the last ones- super cheap but it looks well designed and developed.. can’t wait. Gotta look up created players and playing career modes with them cause that’s all I do.

Game has come a long way sine EA1, can imagine a lot of people were a bit iffy when it first came out, but it is developing nicely, ive now played some online games, and the online is already better than Rugby 20 or Rugby 22 and this is their first go at it, so will only get better from here.

Really wish the players scored the tries slower and more realistic, would also atleast like a little bounce when they hit the ground like in rugby 2011, just adds to the experience rather than them in the span of a millisecond drop to the ground and score boringly, it's literally the best part of the game man.

Drastically improving. Im gonna complain about kicking till the end of days, especially goal kicking! Seems a new glitch at rucks/mauls that the backline are completely all over the place. Lineouts and scrums/rucks need more impact and slowed down a bit. Im sure they have 1 or 2 major updates to fix things but it does look much more enjoyable overall

I’m not interested in this game for one reason. The old ‘run sideways to break the gap’ cheese cheat mechanic which seems to be in most rugby games. I hope they patch this out somehow

It is unfortunately still a big thing in this game, hopefully when player depth and spread gets added the AI will adjust wider to stop it. Against another human player it will be more tricky in this game because you can move accross with them. But its also my most hated tactic in rugby games

Completely disagree with your views around locking the online camera view to a specific view. Allow for any camera angle to be used. If you limit it to side view only then those that play on side camera all the time then gain the advantage.

I think a career mode should be coming, but if thats your main thing you want in the game then best to hold of purchasing it until its implemented, which may even be at full launch rather than EA
