Matthew Walters: I'm using a BCM and have been for a while now, since I got the new Jeep. The reason being, I have a very discrete rifle rack that keeps the rifle above my head that the Tavor won't work with. It requires a longer rifle. I love the Tavor and still shoot it frequently, but the BCM has been my every day rifle for a while now.

Mac, great review. I’ve put the Ruger PCC9 Carbine on my buy list. I must say I was happy, not surprised, you have your children shooting. I had both of mine shooting by 8. I’ve had many people shocked to learn I had them shooting at such an early age. I was even told I was a poor parent. I grew up around guns (Marine father). I learned early on to be safe and respectful. My children have learned to be safe, and respectful. My daughter comes and goes with her shooting (now shoots only revolvers). I am okay with that too. She will never lose the knowledge she has. From one parent to another, I am glad to see some of us passing on the love, and knowledge to the next generation.

Three hundred rounds downrange on the first range session with my new PC9 without a single hiccup using Glock mags. My experienced eye sight (read older eye sight) does not do well with a black front post but I still made center of mass at 50 yds. Added a UTG 3-9 Bugbuster scope at the half way point (QD mounts) and the accuracy put a real smile on my face. For cleaning I disassembled the receiver and found your video to be a solid confidence booster. I expected the inside to be real dirty but that was not the case. The PC9 just might become the new standard for pistol caliber rifles in features, shooting and price.

Make them in 10mm .40, 45acp, 45 win mag, 357 sig, and whatever other calibers someone may like, there will be people that will buy one in every caliber offered, just because they want one in each caliber.
@opie27367 жыл бұрын
I would agree 10mm, .40 and .45acp. not enough people use .357 SIG and any other pistol caliber for it to be profitable. I only say 10mm because it is really coming back with a vengence, and I think it'll be much more popular soon, and with greater demand the prices of the ammo hopefully will go down, in order to facilitate the purchase of more guns in that caliber.

Does ruger have any plans for a 10mm version?
@denisleblanc45067 жыл бұрын
Maybe a conversion to 40 S&W would be possible with a bolt head and heavier recoil spring. But the step up to 190 mm would probably need a different bolt to allow a heavier insert to be installed in it. This coupled with a much stronger recoil spring might do the trick? 357 Sig might be easier than 10 mm. I wonder if they couldn't just make a bigger well weight insert in the bolt and fill the free space with a spacer and light weight for the 9mm, then replace those with a heavier bigger weight for the stouter caliber. I'm almost certain they're presently doing R&D on this as we speak. 357 Sig would make it a deer rifle and 10mm would be even better if feasible. Mag well length would be tight but I wouldn't rule it out. There seems to be enough thickness in replaceable mag wells, but to get enough clearance for the 10mm may require a metal mag well because of the extra length of the cartridge. Same carbine would fit all the mag wells.
Thanks MAC. Best review on this carbine I have seen. You answered my question about how hard it would be to disassemble it for spray-on finishing.

I was very ho-hum at first with this rifle but I think Ruger has a home run here: caliber conversions, suppressor ready, glock or Ruger mags and likely reliable with big R support. Tim, I LOVE how you showed us the reliability of the different ammo brands. I hope this becomes a bit of a standard procedure for your review videos. Granted, it is a sample size of one, but it can at least give us some starting points. Can't wait to own one of these!

Robert H I'm wondering if/when they do make a charger version, if copper custom will come out with another adapter. If we're lucky the one they already made will fit it. But holy crap, if they do make a charger, I don't think I could drop my money faster. At around a $649 msrp that would be a TRUE scorpion killer **cough cough** B&T **cough**

provehitocobalt I can't seem to find a cz scorpion for $509.

Totally agree with your 10mm request. That’d make a great woods gun.

I liked the video setup of switching between shots from the range and talking about the gun indoors.

Those sights on the barrel are really good. The Sub 2k doesn't have the rear sight mounted on its wobbly barrel and the accuracy really suffers because of it.

A very nice blend of new and old. I appreciate the less-tactical, almost retro design, that incorporates customer oriented features.

Tim the radical ejection could be caused by the fact it is set up to be a multi caliber carbine. Maybe the extractor is designed to handle 9 mm all the way up to 45 ACP. With using one extractor with just different bolt faces. Happy 10 year anniversary Tim, here's to another 10.
@Militaryarmschannel7 жыл бұрын
Each mag well has its own dedicated ejector, I point this out during the mag swap portion of the video.
@echosreloadingchamber73067 жыл бұрын
Military Arms Channel understood but what about the extractor. Did you see any goofiness going on with it as far as the tooth? Could it be that they're using only one extractor to go between 9mm and 45 ACP? And because of this it's not getting a good grasp on the smaller 9mm rim? And yes I watch the whole video. Just to let you know. I was saying extractor where you were talking about the ejector.

Erratic

I think the only erratic ejecting was during the drum mag firing.
@Bl4ckD0g7 жыл бұрын
Cleetis McDougall the ETS Group mag had pretty weak ejection too. I'd steer clear from the drum and the ETS mag.

As a left-handed shooter, the omission of a shell deflector makes this a deal breaker. Thanks so much for this video as I was considering purchasing one of these, but it's a no-go for me.

Nothing against Ruger products... own a few... but the Kel-Tec is 4.5 pounds versus 6.8 pounds for the Ruger PC9. That is a big difference when it is going in your backpack. And like Jimmy Kimber said... so far my Kel-tec has been flawless.

I'm sick of the NRA constantly selling us out while telling us how great they are at defending our rights. Screw them and the horse they rode in on. My entire life they've been "compromising" our rights away. No more.

I can see many parallels between the present NRA and those slick, TV evangelists that can count on buckets of cash coming their way every Sunday.

I predict the same thing. This carbine will be able to swap calibers by swapping the bolt face, recoil spring, and detachable barrel assembly. I also, said “10mm, please!” when I first saw this. Additionally, look out for integrally suppressed barrel assemblies in the future. Ruger has got a winner on their hands. Two things I would like to see - a shorter barrel, pistol-braced version, and a pull/release trigger for these (think Fostech Echo II/Franklin Armory BFS III), too. Keep the innovation coming, Ruger!

I have and carry an SR9c as one of my EDC. I also carry a Glock 42 and own 2 Glock 19's too. I have no problems with the SR9c and love the idea that no matter what 9mm I carry I can have a long gun to go with it to. Smart play Ruger, maybe they're finally learning from their screwup with not using common available mags in the Mini 14/30 and Gunsite Scouts.
