This video is just for the fun of it. Got to have a little bit of whimsy in our lives sometimes, right? Nothing personal is meant here, and no matter how I rank your favorite Primarch just know that I actually love them all. No matter how I feel they stack up against one another. They're the baddest-ass characters in fiction, so even the suck tier is pretty much far above all the lesser, non-son-of-the-emperor beings.

I like this take. For some reason, this video has gotten so many dislikes it is ridiculous. People think I'm hating on certain Primarchs, when I actually love them all. Yeah, Guilliman is rad. I see why he's the favorite for his fans. Plus the model is amazing.

One thing i love about 40k is that there is an argument for most primarchs being s rank but there is so much lore behind them that some can hate them while others love them.

Leman Russ literally sucks! He is the biggest hypocrite, he hated Magnus for all the warp stuff but he let his librarians to do psychic things, he didn't wait in the imperial palace to fight the traitors with his brothers! He is just dumb and a bad leader, you put Perturabo in A tier, because he didn't really do much recently, but neither Russ. For me is in SUCK tier.

Ferrus Manus is minimum A tier. His tittle was the Iron General. Guilliman rated him in the top 3 primarchs during the heresy. Bro literally has iron fists and is rated consistently as the physically strongest. His main weakness is inconsistent writing and gw neglecting his legion. If the writers didn’t try and make dramatic plot points by letting his simp brothers special sword end him there would be a lot more fans out there.

The thing I always think of when it comes to the lost Primarchs is... the Imperium didn't scrub the traitor Primarchs from the record. You know, the Primarchs who essentially turbo fucked humanity into a new dark age where they're constantly on the brink of collapse and defeat, and even resulted in the permanent incapacitation of the Emperor? That means, whatever the lost two Primarchs did must have been absurdly bad. Bad beyond belief. So bad that they had to erase the minds of the remaining Primarchs. I'm not sure if that makes the lost Primarchs god tier or garbage tier...

I was under the impression that most people in the imperium don't know of the traitor primarchs existence, similar to the 2nd and 11th. Or maybe i'm misconstruing not knowing with thinking them dead.

@alimac5926 maybe. I know in the eisenhorn books Horus is mentioned by name though, I can't remember by whom or in what context though. People and Space Marines are aware of the heresy and the folks involved, so after 10 thousand years it may have been mythologized a bit but I do know the heretics were not struck from the record. Whereas the Imperium actively erased the lost primarchs, going so far as to establish a mental block to prevent even the primarchs from recalling them.

@@Cristov123 that's true. My thinking is that, because the horus herasy and traitor primarchs had such a massive impact on the setting and malcador plus big E are inactive. It was pretty much impossible to wipe them from every person's memory. Were as the lost primarchs' actions were more easy to cover up. They weren't necessarily more heretical.

I say up the stakes for everyone. It’s a future of only war, so why is anyone safe. I know it’s “a setting, not a story,” so having some mains around is good. But it’s time they ended some big characters. Literally every chapter master gets wounded and is gonna die…so they cross the Rubicon. It gets old. Let’s take away all that plot armor and see Lion give Guilliman a good clop in the chops. And honestly I’d like to see Angron actually die tor once. Yeah, you’re right it does just even the playing field though. Just wish nobody had plot armor and was vulnerable. Sorry…I actually love Guilliman, just got sick of his sons during the Matt Ward era. People literally sent me death threats for putting him where I did though.

Lorgar is awesome as a character, for sure. I actually love every Primarch. But they aren’t all good people…or even Primarchs. And yeah, Lorgar’s awesome too. Especially when he maced Guilliman upside his face.

I personally really like Dorn (attention tho. Im no Lore expert just regular I guess) I think my respect for him comes for being the dude behind the defence of terra and barely holding that against those odds. Also the idea of Rogal 'the brickwall' dorn just frustrating chaos with his stoicness is funny to me but even he has moments when he nearly cracks his wall when he decides to just run into the iron cage. Yeah, I like my imperial fists so I may be a bit biased too✊️

We all have our faves. I actually like Dorn a lot more than this video suggests… I even love Manus and Lorgar, just the least. Yeah, Dorn is fun. But I do love to rip on him ever since TTS came out.

Corvus and the Ravenguard are one of those that have just never clicked for me. They have the right formula as well, but it's just never drawn me in. Rogal? Yeah... The only reason people love Rogal is TTS (which is fair, that's the best iteration of any Primarch ever) and him carrying the Siege of Terra pretty much. As an actual character, he's a plank of wood. Also, I don't think it's biased to call Lion an S after recent developments. You can certainly call him privileged since he's the only other loyalist to return so far, but still, it has given him and the DA a lot to work with.

Regarding Russ, I have a theory - perhaps he and his legion were more based on a slavic core with a viking outer shell rather than just on viking/norse alone, please add upon this if able. Iirc, a russian artist(good one, too) used that combo for angron(red hair, yellow eyes), I'm using it for my world eaters loyalist chapter(pops up coupled with black armor nicely). Not sure about b-slap, I'd swap that for a "slavic educational slap" for extra gravitas(those who know, know what kind of slap that is). Come now, a slav shouldn't give a flying rat's rear(why flying one, no idea, sounds better than plain) about ruffling feathers, especially if ruffling said feathers has merit(not linked to "kremlin gremlin", to be honest). You got yourself an extra watcher now, like your style.

Yes, I see the Black God and the White God both within him. He has a lot of that Kievan Rus era influence. He and his legion are like the Varangian Guard to the Emperor's Byzantium, in my opinion. Yeah, slavic and norse mixed influence...no wonder they named him Russ. Makes sense, now that I think about it.

@@InquisitorRomanov Varagyr was one of the russ's honor guard names(tying into the "slavic+nordic" theory as well) if the lore hasn't changed from the inferno black books(when they fully introduced the legion on the table). Valhallans and vostroyans are perhaps the closest equivalents of slavs in-universe, unless we include the wolves to that too.

I love them too. And I love Ferrus too. I wanted so much more for him though. In all fairness, he needed a lot more screen time. But I get it, somebody had to go out... Some people got really offended at how I ranked their favorites...but didn't know I had a pinned comment about how I actually love them all. They're all great characters. And yeah, the Iron Hands are awesome. One of the Legions that GW really need to show more love to...no scratch that, THE Legion that GW needs to show more attention to.

Guiliman - I agree with PancreasNoWork, but at this point he became Emperor-Lite. His work - misunderstood and misshapen. Wasted character, static puppet now. Shame. Kurze - most frakin' wasted opportunity in setting, along with Angron. Assuming he was supposed to be Emperor's justice, he should be in meaningful conflict with Russ / Lion. Russ - for supposed executioner, whoooped all to frequently. Underused. Khan - you should add Khan-tier atop all else. Too bad him and Corax were never that close. Magnus - I could easily see him in vile conflict with Lorgar and leader of Heresy. Faqued up by writing error. Alpharius - downgraded to meme at this point; also, we know he doesn't exist and II and XIth are really Alpharius and Omegon ;-) Sanguinius - beautifully done.

I love your opinions. You're right...I probably should readjust my view of the Khan. I think I let that one dude just really ruin my view of him, and even though I consciously know that is unjustified it is still eating away at my opinion of him below the surface. That's a fun view of Alpharius too. And I am so glad you disagree and were cool about it. Been getting lots of hateful messages from Lorgar and Manus fans, lol! And a TON of dislikes on this video. But I honestly love those characters, even if I think they are outshined (outshone?) by their brothers. All 20 primarchs are pretty much better than just about any other characters, in any setting, ever.

I think that *Jagathai* was almost as level-headed as Guiliman but bit more cynical, competent as fighter and leader and planner ("Tales of Heresy") saw Emperor for what he was almost as Sanguinius or Corax but never went way of Angron/Mortarion. He wanted to extend help to Magnus even after Prospero, but saw through Mortarion's hypocrisy and beaten Alpha Legion in their own game to some extent. He was cautious enough. "Wherever we are, there is a center" - what I think, that Khan had one thing he shared with Guiliman; he lacked some clear advantage over brothers, but also lacked one defining, cripling weakness (like stubbornes of Dorn, insecurities of Most, attritional warfare style of Dark Angels or Wolves, plans within plans of Alpha Legion, pride of Horus or Magnus ) and as opposed to Guiliman, kept low profile. He was also counterpoint to Guiliman, whose formal education on Maccrage is usually understimated, but Khan was more of self-made man. That, if anything, made him dangerous.
