I like to interpret Fierna and Belial's relationship as a loveless marriage that neither can escape from, but they often get to points where the fighting gets bad enough that one tries to overthrow the other. The moment Belial struggles with his work, the bureaucracy starts to pile up and Asmodeus complains that everything is on more fire than usual. When Fierna isn't managing the contracts and meeting the soul quota, the casinos and brothels start acting like legitimate businesses, and Asmodeus starts complaining about getting fewer souls.

0:38 doesn't matter if you can find Acererak's phylactery. We dumped him in lava, cast Cone of Cold over said lava thereby solidifying it with him inside. Our Dao friend then cast Stone Shape to carve his rocky prison out, and when we got out of the fungeon she Plane Shift'd us to Mt. Celestia where we had his rocky prison coated in adamantine and thrown tot he bottom of the holy water sea surrounding Mt. Celestia. In the rock he can't move, can't speak, can't cast. Being a lich he can't starve to death, die of asphyxiation, or age to death. He'll be stuck there until the magic keeping him Lich'd fails because he's not able to feed his phylactery. He can't even sleep, and therefore he can't dream. Devils can be a generic term for a number of creatures. I hear older people use it that way more often than people nowadays. Honestly, the dichotomy between demons and devils in D&D is one of the most interesting things to me. That sort of warring multiple faces of evil. Then there's the yugoloths. I also kinda like how all of the lower planes really embody that "hell of our own making" idea. In Baator, devils get power and promotion, but it just nets them more jealous looks and paranoia, but being lower gets you underpaid, so there's no happy place in it.

Devils ruined my last campaign. Well....players ruined my campaign....using the help of Devils. The party was ECL 9 (3.5e), and consisted of a human wizard named Svein, a weretiger druid named Ragnarok, a LE cleric named Tabitha, and a charisma max rogue named Aralis. The gang was rolling into a new port town, Hadun. Hadun controlled the entire coastal area, through military power and trade laws. In the last town the players visited, they heard many rumors about strange lights and happenings in Hadun. I had written up a simple bad guy, and some lackies for the party to fight. The BBEG that I had written was an ECL 12 cleric of the law and evil domains. His name was Warder, and he was just supposed to die in that town. Instead, as soon as they meet Warder, they realize how powerful he is. Before I know it, the party is trying to pal around with Lawful Evil cleric bro. After a couple sessions of having Warder become their new quest giver (as a dm I prefer to roll with player choices for the story), the party had become lawful evil warlords. Warder joined them as a cohort (the wizard took leadership), taught them some evil magic, and after only a month got the party to sign infernal contracts. The players summoned up a bunch of devils, infested my material plane, and started what has been referred to in my game group as "The infernal crises" or "Evil Oopsie 2: electric boogaloo". Spent the rest of that campaign sweating over the fiendish codex 2, listening to slayer 🤣

Fun fact: In D&D a group of devils is called a Conspiracy

I knew another story about Asmodeus. He was a helper for the deities and offered to keep in prison the souls/creatures who have sinned. The deities agreed and made him a god with power over the domain "Sin". Then he noticed that usually the best humans were recruited by deities or saved from hell somehow, so he instructed his devils to corrupt souls using evil pacts. The deities discovered it and imprisoned him in his realm, the Nine Hells

Recently I sent a group of adventurers to hell. Not in the "Go to hell!" style. They almost died. It was very entertaining and instructive.

And here I am, an intellectual, who knows that Asmodeus is actually a big-ass snake that created the entire multi-verse alongside his good counterpart, and is responsible for the creation of the Abyss too.

You speak of therizdun, the other bloke who nibbled on Asmodeus’s tail.
@ivodijkman1375 жыл бұрын
@@jacobvanveit3437 So... Tharizdun took a part of the bleeding snake body of Asmodeus and with it created the Abyss? Thought that Asmodeus' actions by breaking the Ouroboros was the chaotic act that created the first abyssal plane.
@mahrbooiiii5 жыл бұрын
@@ivodijkman137 i think both were involved in the chaotic part cause they both wanted their realm in the centre.

I have a crazy idea for a warlock! He made a packed with the fallen angel making him technically immortal but each time he dies he has to slay a number of demons to return as a any age he wishes to the land of the living but every time the number of demons he must slay rises and if he fails he’ll end up in hell for ever!
@NobodyDungeons5 жыл бұрын
So I wrote up a contract with a devil in one of the games I played and I was the one who wrote it and basically what it was is that I would handle all of the background work of managing Zarials plane while she goes and beats up demons also I get immortality and stuff

Levistus slept with Asmodeus’s consort and tried to overthrow him, at the same time he was sleeping with Asmodeus’s daughter. When the daughter found out, she killed the consort and blamed Levistus for the murder.

I'll be honest, Zariel really sounds like the best deal out of the bunch. Not only do you fight better but at the end of it all you get to keep fighting an endless horde of demons that spill out onto your boss' front lawn. Seriously, a better deal with the devil I have never heard.

Idea for homebrew class: Hell-Hacker - someone whose job is finding, twisting and subverting the small type in Hellish contracts, so they can summon devils but should not have to go to hell. Ideal for someone who works in computing. Dispater (emerging from the ground): What? The devs said they'd fixed this bug! Hell-Hacker: Yeah, but the password input was susceptible to SQL injection... soooo... Dispater: (growls) This is the last time, mortal. Hell-Hacker: (smiles innocently) (that would obviously be endgame)
