​@@cesarrobledo2583That Russia didn't roll Ukraine in three days is humiliating. Used to be that the West lived in fear of the Warsaw pact pouring through Fulda Gap in a mad dash over the Seine. Russia was nominally the peer rival of the combined forces of NATO, but it's bogged down in a country 1/3 the population and 1/28th the size. It's as if when the US invaded Iraq and stalled out twenty miles over the border. Russia had months to prepare their invasion and still mucked it up miserably. How is this so? Corruption, misinformation, disorganization, politics before practice, demotivation. Russia thought it would over so quickly they wouldn't need to worry about foreign assets, which is why the West was able to freeze half of Russia's foreign assets. The Budapest Memorandum drove the West to arm Kyiv. It's all a very compelling argument for democracy over autocracy. Which is why Republicans are also so milquetoast in their support for Ukraine. Russia was conservative and macho; Ukraine was a Western leaning democracy. The Republicans and Hungary's Orban will trade Ukrainian freedom for a "win" for reactionaries.

I never doubted they would last at least for a few months. The only reason why we EVER thought the Russian military is competent is because they won against much smaller, weaker, and outdated countries like Chechnya in the 90's and Georgia in the mid 2000''s. The second they started to face a modern military like Ukraine's they start to crumble and show their weakness. They thought that the war in 2014 Ukraine with outdated old soviet equipment and the war in 2022 Ukraine with modern NATO and Western equipment would have the same outcome.

Численность же войск, которые могут непосредственно воевать не суше до мобилизации была 270 000 человек. Загугли в википедии сухопутные войска России, очень сильно удивишься, что армия это не просто толпа мужиков с автоматами, которых всех пересчитай и будет итоговая численность, а что армия это огромная структура с кучей людей, многие из которых даже автомат никогда не держали, воюют из которых меньшинство.
