I Bought the Haloview RD7 to replace a camera system from Furrion Vision S that had significant drop out issues. Installation was not a problem - powering the camera off the top rear marker light. Swapped out the old mounting brackets for the new ones and ran the transmission cable up to the front of my 26 foot long camper. Mounted the transmitter with liberal amounts of RTV/Silicon. Got the monitor hooked up in the cab, powered it up and turned on the marker lights. The camera and monitor paired automatically and provided me a terrific view of my back yard - as expected. Finally got to road test it this past weekend on a short camping trip - about 50 miles one way. Camera performed flawlessly the whole way - didn't notice a single drop out and had very little, if any flicker. Decent field of view as well. I can see cars within about 20 feet of my rear bumper and can pick up the entire lane of expressway on either side at about 40 feet back. I am VERY satisfied with the performance of this system so far. Big test will be next month with a 1000 mile trip coming up. Looking forward to it.

Thank you guys, this video saved me a lot of frustration. I installed one of these on my camper but couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t getting power. Even took it to my RV dealer to check the wiring, they said it was all good. Nowhere in the instructions or at the dealer was it mentioned I needed to have the truck lights ON for power to get to the camera… (I felt like such an idiot!) thanks much, and happy travels!

We had the original Furrion, but the screen got stolen when we got robbed in Houston 😡 Quick question: if the trucks lights need to be on to supply power to the cams, how can the system be used as a security system when it’s unhitched 🤔
@gregebel38424 жыл бұрын
Just jumper pins 3 & 4 of the TV power cord. This connects the camper's 12 pin to the tail light pin. Use a 10A or 15A fuse to do it.

Got the 5S Furrion kit. (Fifth wheel 35 ‘, F-450 6.7 L platinum 22’) the three,work well, no drop issues, but still haven’t figured what and how to deal with extra. That can go above the entrance door or a second backup camera, though this one has the green-yellow- red grid parking markers to help with backing up. Best thing is the pre-wired one isnthat it sees while driving, in forewarn, whereas the Ford one doesn’t work unless truck in reverse….

Hi guys! Love the hat by the way, Go Hawks! We have a 4.3 Furrion observation camera and it worked once! It will not pair when the camera is on the trailer, but it does when the camera and monitor are next to each other. We have a new GD trailer and new F-350 truck since we bought the camera and it won’t work with either the old or new set up. Furrion says 2019/2020 Ford and GMC trucks have issues with the cameras getting power through the 7 way plug in the truck. We bought an adapter from them to see if that helped, no go. They say the trucks “learn” about the accessory and won’t let power go to it. I called BS on that. If that is true, then Jason and Rae, you should start having issues with your camera pretty soon. We’ve spent $545 between the camera and the adapter and it doesn’t work. Has anyone else heard this excuse from Furrion?
@brianvanostran29444 жыл бұрын
You know if you want to monitor your cameras that are on 12 volt, you can put a 15 amp fuss in the top two holes in electrical plug on the camper , then it will light your lights and your cameras will work.

Hello, love your videos. I have a 40' 5th wheel with the furrion backup/observer camera and it also showed about 2 bars while sitting in the driveway. However you will probably find that the rear camera will NOT stay connected while driving however there is a fix. I purchased the 12" antennas (1 for the rear camera and one on the monitor) and that fixed my problem. I hope yours works without doing that but if you like I can send a link to the 12" antenna. Safe travles.

These are only rated for 50' when in motion and up to 500' of direct open space(which you don't have when under way) If you have a 40+ foot rig and a 8' truck box you will be near the limits of this system. I think for larger coaches the Haloview will be a better choice and is 1/2 the price.

Wire nuts, the things you used to connect the wiring, are not the best choice for connecting wires in a location subject to movement and vibration (an RV for example) and could vibrate loose leaving you with a blown fuse. Or worse, an RV fire.
