I did the plugs and back coils this week. Your video is excellent. Thank you four putting it on KZbin. Here is one additional thing to note. The cable tray that comes from the left side of the car to the upper ECM, is held down with a nut, but it is also secured to the support plate under the tray. In your video, the cable tray lifted off the support plate like nothing held it down except for the nut. But on ours, it has a pair of plastic "clips" that held down the other end of the tray to the metal support plate. At first I could not find what was holding it down, and even when I did, I was not able to get it to release with my fingers. I finally broke one of those clips to get it loose. Maybe it could be released if I knew to pull them together toward each other carefully with a needle nose pliers. When I reassembled it, I used high temp RTV on that area to glue the cable tray down where the broken clips were at.

I have had the torque wrench fail like that. Always trust your instincts and the more experience the better. Finally, for sanity check, I frequently calibrate my torque wrenches (I check them, I have never needed to change the calibration) by clamping the drive end in a vise, putting the handle horizontal and standing on a bathroom scale while pushing down on handle at known distance (eg 1 foot). Set at 50 ft-lb, for example, my scale always unloads exactly 50 pounds just when wrench clicks if I am pushing straight down at exactly one foot from center of drive end. Then, I know I am in the ball park.

Hey bro, the oil filler tube twists out.
@TheFlyingMechanicDIY5 жыл бұрын
AP there is a catch inside the tube that u have to reach with a bent pick to release, then twist the tube clockwise i think

@@TheFlyingMechanicDIY Thanks for commenting back. I did this job last weekend before seeing your video, and all you have to do is grab the filler tube and twist counterclockwise. There are no catches and removing it makes taking off the plug for cylinder 4 really easy. Also, it was pretty easy for me to remove the entire intake manifold in order to get to plugs 1, 3, and 5. I also changed out all the coils because I didn't want to do this job again. Good video, man.

AP the catch usually break if u twist without releasing it, but u wouldnt notice. I saw no need to remove it, just work around it, also depend on what tools u have but with my tools it was super easy to access everything without removing extra stuff. But what ever makes u happy man.. cheers

Chances if they are the wrong number they will cause misfire (assuming at least they are the right size, otherwise it could be catastrophic)

Do you prefer the V6 or the 2.0.
@TheFlyingMechanicDIY5 жыл бұрын
Joeybabbs .BABBS : 2.0 easier to wok on but the V6 is more reliable and more smooth

Yes I had one and I can confirm that, when testing the v6 I noticed way more smoothness and power the 2.0T is kinda bucky and slow
