Hard same. 32 years old and I've never kissed or had sex and I've only gone on 1 date. I'm still recovering from growing up in the mormon culture and it has really stunted my emotional and social growth. But I plan on moving out of Utah soon and that will be my first step into exploring romantic relationships. When she said she felt like she had to explain herself to everyone she dated I was floored because I never heard someone put that concept into words before. It's a constant anxiety I have when people show interest so I just come up with reasons to ignore my feelings until they go away. She talked about it like it's not as much of an issue for her now so that gives me a lot of hope and peace.

Yup! Late bloomer here who grew up in a very conservative christian environment. Came out and started dating "late". It took me a while to get past feeling like I was inexperienced and behind everyone else. What I learned over time is that even though I didn't experience certain things when many of my peers did, I was still having other experiences and learning about myself and the world. I wasn't behind, just on a different trajectory.

My toxic trait is that I will defend weird art to my death. I thought Beau Is Afraid was incredible. Extremely weird but it had a focused theme and every detail matched it. I like where it started and loved where it ended. I found it incredibly immersive and love when film explores the weirdest most bizarre and taboo parts of the human experience. Definitely polarizing, but it had a clear intention and executed it beautifully (imo). I totally agree that it is more like an experience and definitely not a popcorn flick! You have to be down to go on a wild and fucked up journey, don’t expect simple entertainment or a clear plot. Aster loves to explore family trauma and this is no exception. I actually think it will be looked back on as his magnum opus. I know this might sound pretentious but my thoughts are genuine and I really loved it! (This isn’t to negate Kennie’s opinion, just to share my own😊)
