I feel like if Jarvis knew anything about Ssniperwolf as a human being he would not be so charitable. She has consistently showed a complete lack of empathy/morality for years and years and years. I’ve never once seen/read/heard a good thing abt her from people whose opinions I respect. Like, I get how devoid of context it could maaaaaybe be seen as harassment, but it quite clearly is not that in context. I’m the last person you’ll find defending harassment of any kind. She’s a content farm of stolen content being promoted by KZbin - that’s absolutely a problem and deserving of parody/criticism.
@FukaiKokoro Жыл бұрын
She bullied a competitive KZbin gamer girl off the platform. She has a history of violent crimes. She's a legitimately dangerous person. And what makes her.more dangerous is she's the "I'm not like other girls" and thinks because she's a girl she deserves better treatment than others.

Hoping more people talk about this cause after KZbin's response today, this is just gonna keep happening and it's gonna get worse.

I’m gonna be honest, if you actually watch Jack’s videos on this and understand what their purpose and intention was, there is truly no reason to make all the caveats of “he’s harassing her” and such. He made very reasonable criticisms in a noticeably responsible way. I totally get the instinct to have doubts if you aren’t fully aware of the situation, women being harassed online is always a big issue, but that’s not what this is. There are already widespread criticisms of react content online in general, much of which is aimed at Twitch streamers. So I think Jack focusing on maybe the most prolific example on KZbin is completely reasonable.

Jack was always very intentional to keep his criticism to her content an the making of it and nothing personal about her life or anything like that. he kept making it because nothing was happening/she wasn't stopping, he explained how he kept doing it because it was reacting to the video of *that day*, not some random video from years ago, his point was that people's content kept being stolen and youtube kept defending and supporting it, nothing was changing, so he persistently called her out. not aggressively, not harassing, but persistent since the issue wasn't being resolved (and still isn't, but of course he's not making it now that his family's safety has to be accounted for)

I think Jack was pretty justified in what he did. He did praise her when she responded to the claims that she wasn’t watching the videos, she was just reading off a google doc (it was actually the reflection of her light on her glasses). His literal point was that she basically freebooted videos, sometimes even hiding creator names. His whole thing is “credit the creators” and “be transformative” (the bingo card was made up of things like “reading the caption”, talking over the video”, “stealing the original creators jokes”) He’s been pretty clear that it was never about gender and that literally the bare minimum he was asking was she credit the original creators and add some actual commentary but i understand how it could be perceived as an attack directly at her. regardless, doxing someone is not what “adults” do.

as someone who has been into the sssniperwolf and Jackfilms drama here an explanation of jack's content (from what I can tell). He made a parody channel, reacting to her reaction content. All the videos are streaming clips where they play a bingo (like Jarvis's Dhar Mann bingo) where they play cards that contain sssniperwolf tropes/repeated moments. From what I can tell, it's focused around calling our how she using content without crediting the creators. On his streams he tries to find the creators for all the tiktoks she reacts to and links them in the description. Plus he encourages people who watch the streamers to claim their content back (with growing success!). There is also other talk about sssniperwolf breaking community guidelines before with videos sexualizing/making fun of minors. Jacksfilms has a history of being against lazy reaction content. I think part of the whole Bingo thing, and making content out of it is because he found SSSniperwolf to be an incredibly egregious example. I also don't think that the Bingo was making fun of SSSniperwolf herself and moreso the themes and consistencies in her content that pointed to towards it being shamelessly pandered to kids while also being absolutely nothing. The worst it got was maybe her consistent use of the word "bro." He kept his criticisms strictly to her content.
@mattgopack7395 Жыл бұрын
I think that being against lazy reaction content is definitely good, but the moment that he started pumping out video after video solely around her with the bingo thing is when it starts coming across wrong. For all that people are saying it's fair and it was a good thing, it's still an incredible amount of videos to just see one after the other. Like maybe she's the most egregious example of the lazy reaction stuff, but she's not the *only* one - apply that bingo elsewhere, cycle through some to show it's a big issue. Because otherwise it really does come across as obsessed with her. And that would go for anyone - like if someone made 30ish straight videos on a channel in a way that absolutely comes across as making fun of any creator, it would get weird. A couple of long & thought out videos, or recurring and split up between other topics would both have been plenty for him to get his points across.

The reason why it's Sniperwolf (though it isn't always; I was there the stream of the night he got doxxed and he did the bingo with 2 other "reactors") is because she's actively supported by KZbin and because she is at least more interesting to mock than someone who just laughs which was just painful. Jarvis made dozens of Dhar Mann videos on his main channel, Jack created a separate troll channel. And Jack was providing sources for the videos being stolen, which is a valuable service. Not to mention sniper's videos aren't just garbage she is stealing content and not using it in a transformative way which is a violation of fair use that leaves her open to lawsuits and therefore threatens everyone on youtube. You've been tricked into blaming the victim and are doubling down by saying his "bad optics" are to blame for your bad take. @@mattgopack7395

Yeah, sorry to say, I agree with what everyone in the comments is saying. Jack was criticizing her content in good faith in an effort for her to see her wrongdoings and grow as a creator, there was no malice intended. Lia, despite what she said in her apology (that may or may not have been written by ChatGPT) definitely made a conscious decision to doxx him to her 5 million followers. That is not a "lapse in judgment", and her sister's comments only made that more obvious.

I feel like you're a bit too focused on the optics of the situation to realize you're feeding into Sniper's shitty viewpoint. I understand you don't wanna dogpile on a female creator but it almost sounds like you're giving her the benefit of the doubt just because she's a woman, which, idk, feels a bit infantalizing. She's not being harassed by Jack, he doesn't sick his subs on her. She did something kinda shitty, he poked fun at her, and she responded with a nuke. It has nothing to do with her gender.

Sssniperwolf is just the latest in a long line of people he's openly mocked, but obviously much more consistent because of how youtube treats her and just how popular she is. On the sexist comments, Jack has always been against furries and that's about it. He's not sexist, he's not homophobic, he's not transphobic, if something is funny then he'll make the joke, but not if it would actually upset someone. I really wish people wouldnt make podcast episodes titled and centered around a topic they know nothing about and outright admit they havent researched and throw around words like "harassed". SSSniperwolf has a history of harassing competing girl gamers off the platform, shes been arrested for armed theft, she repeatedly shows a lack of empathy in general and for the creators she steals revenue from. Even if none of that was true. Jack has stayed professional. He is honest to god CRITIQUING her. He points out the bad stuff and credits the good stuff. But SSSniperwolf is so full of herself shes been spreading around that hes just jealous and obsessed with her.

Before the doxxing, Jack outlines his frustrations about Sssniperwolf's "content" in a video a couple months ago. He admits he is jealous of her status because she is a "Creator" that is being elevated by KZbin, when all she does is steal content, summarizes what happens in the video in the most rudementary ways possible, does not properly credit the creators of the videos she's reacting to, and was recently caught taking jokes made in these videos and diliberately cuts out the part where the joke is said. Jack is criticizing the lack of content in the content of someone who's being protected by KZbin. A person who has potentially put people's lives in danger and is not being appropriately dealt with by KZbin. I don't agree with how the boys are talking as though they have to walk on eggshells in this case. I feel like they should've looked into this more before talking about it, because now there might people who are unaware of the context of the entire saga.

A lot of people stopped caring simply because it's spread like wildfire and bc it's "looking cooler" meanwhile us artist are becoming met with more disrespect from people who think we're useless and want to claim their an artist by using ai. There are people who will continue to pay artist and some do believe it will die down. But we have to just keep fighting against it in order for it to truly die

It's like if My Story Animated's frontrunners showed up at your house because you've been critical of them; granted, Jack went very hard on SSSniperwolf's content-but he's *always* gone hard for criticism and satire. There was a time when he was churning out content on the Emoji Movie nonstop, haha. I can't begin to fathom how violated he feels. I've had a Tiktok prankster with 3 mil followers record video of me at work, and that felt violating enough-and my sister's had her ex stalk her and show up at our house. But a mix of both? Blegh...

Jacksfilms, from my understanding, had a series where he parodied sssniperwolf's reaction content by sitting through her streams doing the same low effort 'reacting' that she passes off as content. He was also crediting all the creators she was 'reacting' to that she, of course, did not credit. It was a way to show how people like her basically steal other's content, don't credit them, and then act like it's transformative. It was this series that prompted her to dox him publicly. Absolutely unacceptable, she does not deserve the charity that Jarvis gives.

the thing about the SSSniperwolf situation is she is literally the biggest "reactor" on the platform who is actively put on a pedestal by youtube despite none of her content even being close to fair use, and Jack has been crediting the people she steals from. it may seem like harassament but he doesnt even take it that seriously, it is literally a game to jack. He is only critical of her content, and he very often offers actual ways to make the content transformitive. and its worth noting he started the channel over a year ago as a parody of her, and nothing changed, so he recently brought it back because youtube keeps promoting her. He genuinely just wants her to be responsible with her "content". She's been proven to steal jokes, she's intentionally cut around the username, and she has repeated clips in the same video literally 30 seconds apart to reach midroll qualification.

He’s called out other male youtubers that has done this as well. women can be shitty too man.
@sophdog2564 Жыл бұрын
I think y'all should've done a smidge more research into the jacksfilms/Sssniperwolf situation tbh. The situation came to a head when KZbin tweeted "Where does Sssniperwolf get her ideas? From her fans!" And then jacksfilms replied or quote tweeted saying that she actually steals other people's content. Then there was a back and forth Twitter thing that is documented on jacksfilms main channel and he announced that he was reactivating his parody channel, JJJacksfilms. He made the channel a year ago to call out her lack of transformative content. From my understanding, it went dormant for a while until this new situation JJJacksfilms then started being a host for clips from streans where he would grade her reactions (see: "Grading a terrible reactor" video on JJJacksfilms) and that evolved into Sssniperwolf Bbbingo when someone on Twitter made a bingo card and sent it to Jack. (I don't know who it was, but jacksfilms made it a point to credit the creator of the initial bingo card, even after it had been edited over time) Notably, there were never any personal attacks in these criticisms. Jacksfilms was very intentional to not only avoid sexism, including remarking on her looks, but also avoided baseless rumors like the rumor she was reading her reactions from a Google doc. He even refused to bring up her past actions like armed robbery, and didn't talk about her current lawsuit with her ex husband that alleges that she didn't actually play games in her gameplay videos from her previous channel. The only thing he criticized was her content and lack of transformative work, because as he said "all that other stuff is in the past, this is happening right now." And that was all he cared about. It's also worth noting that there is a bingo spot called "Actual Insight" which accounts for the rare instances when she says something insightful and transformative. According to jacksfilms, she never reached out privately to discuss or talk out their issues. She did make snide comments in a few of her videos, and there was obviously the twitter incident that incited this chapter of the saga, but it's also important to note that jacksfilms has always taken this hardline stance against "reaction channels" that just freeboot other people's content. He's criticized many other KZbinrs who do this, and even in the current saga he's been critical of Jason Derulo for being a freebooter worse than Sssniperwolf. The reason he's been going up against sssniperwolf so aggressively recently is that she is the biggest of these freebooters disguised as reaction channels and he wants her to, at the very least, credit the creators and ask them for permission before reacting to their videos. He has also suggested that if she's going to continue to not really react, then she should just accept that she's a complation channel and start licensing the videos like Daily Dose of Internet. He's also been encouraging creators to claim their work from videos that they don't want their work in. There have been several of these creators in his twitch chat talking about their content being stolen (even when they themselves were children) and one of the most heartbreaking ones was someone who said they almost quit art after sssniperwolf made fun of a drawing video they posted. They even deleted their video because they felt ashamed. I guess my point is that taken in totality it's pretty black and white. I think you were too gentle on sssniperwolf because you didn't have the full context. If it was a matter of her not feeling safe as a woman on the Internet with some guy making a bunch of videos about her, then why would she go to his house and try to goad him out? There are many other, safer, routes to take if that was the case. If you want a good female perspective on the situation, I suggest Swell Entertainment, who put up her video on it today.

I have loved watching jack's SSSniperwolf bingo videos. The main purpose of them is to give actual credit to the original creators because in about 98% of sniper's videos she does not credit any of the creators and often gets the videos from ALREADY freebooted videos AND will even intentionally crop out their handle or crop out the caption so that she can say what the caption said and make it seem like she came up with a funny joke. and so often jack will try and find the original video that she is reacting to ON STREAM and tells people to go support that creator and to let them know that she used their video without their permission. And when she does include the Tik Tok handle he always links that account in the description of each video he uploads. Jack is a delight and Sniper is absolutely in the wrong in this situation and KZbin needs to take accountability of actual crimes that have been committed. Love the pod by the way! This was a great episode! Just wanted to weigh in since yall said you hadn't seen the bingo vids!
