So many of the older sailing channels have drifted from their original content and have gotten wayyyy to serious. They stopped delivering raw footage of sailing as it was. I missed that. But then I see you folks! Thanks for the real and genuine footage and story. You both are awesome! I know what its like to buy a boat and I cant wait for winter to be over so that I can get back out! You younguns are a credit to young people who have vision and shared passion for your other, and your commitment to having the balls to showcase yourselves in the dearth of other similar minded people also acting out their dreams. But you two have something different. You seem to be gentle caring folk unafraid of anything. So you just keep on doing what you're doing. If you get a chance check out Sailing Zatara. They are also great and loving people who came to the nomadic lifestyle sailing adventure later in life than yourselves, but I am guessing you are going to end up as a significant waterworld participants and fantastic role models for those of us who have now lived our lives having not had the balls to make the mighty leap..

I had exactly the same plan for 2019 and 2020 but i went aground coming into Instow, North Devon and i capsised on a sandbank! But i manged to fix a boat and will continue this summer!! Nice to see young (same age) sailors. Maybe we meet in mediteranian sea one day!!

Hi guy's . Can i make a couple of suggestions . The seasick issue , there's nothing worst , a trick i've used with non sailors is put them on the helm , it diverts the mind into thinking about something else . Don't wait till your feeling rubbish , but next time one of ya is feeling a bit rough , disconnect the auto helm and hand steer the boat . I would advise both remain in the cockpit at first unless lifelines are used been though . Maintain heading , by pointing the bow at a cloud or formation of clouds on the low horizon . Another method is maintaining the boats angle to the swell , but that's a bit more difficult , as you need a constant wind to maintain the swell direction . Inshore you can use markers on land , but deep water , clouds are better . Never steer by just the compass alone either , your end up chasing the needle . Use it for reference , but don't stare at it .

@@WildlingSailing agrrr , understand , it is a difficult one to call . I think , i've only suffered from it once , on a ferry when i was about 14-15 , but i've never suffered from it again , and i'm 59 now . It started as a headache , that gradually got worst . I tried to shut it down , but never managed it , though i never actually vomited either . The fact is more people suffer from it than admit , there are many schools of thought on the subject , with equally as many cures . Ranging from the type of food eaten before you sail , through to a mechanical device worn like a watch . The problem is , one size don't fit all , and i'm afraid those conditions , were only slight . I would guess a force 4 , beaufort scale , with 3 ft swell and around a 15- 20 knot wind speed . The next one up a 5 and often classed as a good sailing breeze , but your be dealing with a 5 foot swell and 20 knot plus wind . I would strongly advise you to stick to coastal work until you do crack this , you really must look after her , she's gorgeous . Perhaps noting the conditions were it does happen and put her (sorry i don't know your partners name , and i doubt i'd be able to spell it anyway) on the helm before any symptoms begin to show , may help . And a word to the good lady herself . Try and relax , basically as i understand it , your brain is confused . Your senses are giving it mixed information , stressing it out and causing the headache . Try to relax , steer a bit , get involved with sailing the boat (both good practices anyway) , try closing one eye . If it does get out of control , lie flat , close your eyes and try to focus on something nice . Block the boats movement out and stay warm , but stay in the fresh air , above all , never think your the only one who suffers from this .

Regarding painting. Always use a undercoat or primer if you don't the bottom colour or varnish will bleed through your top coat.

Regarding getting nuts etc loose. WD 40 but first heat up the nut. It will expand and hopefully loosen. So in your tools you should always have a small blow torch

Hi Mark & Nadia I think I might have found your next boat. Just seen on eBay yes nothing wrong with eBay. It's a 10 meter Elizabethan had loads of work done so not much to do. Sailed the Atlantic to Carribian and lots of other places start bidding at 7000 or buy it now for 13000. Reading the spec should be perfect .take care .

Another interesting video, I,m enjoying watching your travel adventures. I was in Plymouth building the interior of my boat when you stopped there. It was ready to launch in mid September. Now spending the winter near St. Malo on the French coast. Back to the ocean again in early spring when weather allows a crossing to England. Pity my boat is to deep for the canal system.

A bit late now but maybe useful in the future. For a heavy tow or pull the tow line is held at the bow with a couple of lines that keep it central. It is then led back and tied around the base of the mast. But I guess you are better off braking the samson post. gary

Nice boat. I got it from an online chandelry either marine superstore or galeforce marine. Cost a fair bit though, maybe 550 pounds, not worth buying a used one though as they could be faulty! Good luck with it mate

yeah thanks it turns out its got one! its just needs a little tlc i cant wait to get started. im going it alone never sailed a boat in my life i get set foot on it tommorow for the fisrt time me and the dog. Im a keen fisherman so i wont go hungry i hope. Im literally taking a bag and my dog and leaving the rat race behind im gking to start a channel and blog the journey also 4 sure. Hey Wildlings, I have noticed something about your engine temperature. Are you circulating the same water when you are running the engine? I mean the water in the bucket, because it will get hotter and hotter and you would intake hot water to cool the engine?? I’m no expert but normaly the water would be taken from the sea which is cold and then that would help with engine temps, isn’t it?? Hmm?? Love your show and keep going!! You inspire us!! Xoxo
