Last year I started reading the Bible cover to cover for Lent. I finished up in January. Imagine my surprise when God asked me to pray for all the people mentioned in the Bible. Groups, nations, individuals got a prayer everytime they were mentioned. I often pray for souls who have no one to pray for them or the wretched souls who have been lost to time and memory.

Please dedicate the whole rosary for the Poor Souls. A nun in grade school told us we could offer as many intentions for our rosaries, masses, etc., and it would not dilut the good accomplished, but, rather, accomplish more good! Say as many intentions as possible! God bless you! By the way, the nun was a BVM nun...FOR BLESSED Virgin Mary . Please, pray for me to say a second Flame of Love daily. When I pray the Holy Rosary everyday, I always include all the pour souls in purgatory and mention the names of our dearly departed family members, relatives, and friends. Sometimes, while in the middle of praying the Holy Rosary faces of souls flash into my mind. This gives me the idea that they too need prayers so I include them iny prayers too. Each time I know of someone who dies, I take it as an opportunity to include them in my prayers too.

You are correct! Your family members that are in purgatory need prayers. Don’t stop. Tell your friends as well so that they could do the same thing to their families. Souls who don’t make it to heaven are in Purgatory….not many people know this, and they blinded themselves to thinking that everyone goes to heaven….

My mom always cautioned us about praying for the souls. I already offered life long masses for my diseased loved ones. I still continue praying on daily basis for souls in purgatory. I believe that these souls pray for us and sometimes when in trouble or danger they save us.

You can have Gregorian Masses (30 the number required ) for loved ones, who have passed. They’re celebrated consecutively for 30 days as well as praying and fasting for holy souls.

Just before my mother died I seen the light come for her. I was holding her hand and was resting my eyes I thought a nurse had come in and turn the big light on because the room was dark. I opened my eyes and before I realised what was happening I said ‘do you mind’! Then I seen the light near the door of the room.. it’s bright! I grabbed my mother because I didn’t want her to go then I seen her spirit shaft out the end of her body, I felt her kiss me on the cheek then she went into the light. Then it just vanished. I’ve seen heaps it’s awesome I feel like I’m home again when I see things like that.

There is a St. Gertrude Chaplet prayed on a regular Rosary. Each decade consists of 10 St. Gertrude prayers, beginning with the Our Father on the big bead and ending with two related prayers and the Glory Be. You can find several versions of this chaplet on KZbin to pray along with. I have added praying this chaplet to my daily prayers, and offer it as a penance. Very good for Lent. I can't wait to read the books you recommended!

I purchased the Flame of Love bundle. I'm nearly finished reading it. The bundle came to Australia very quickly considering and it is worth the cost. The Flame of Love bundle has a beautiful prayer card and a flyer with information on how to mediate on the movement. In the book it is called the Cause. I find with this book, even tho it is thin it has so much in it that I find I put it down after a paragraph or a page and I either cry with emotion or I have to just think about the implications of what Our Lord has said. Can you imagine in the 60's Our Lord told Elizabeth to not listen or watch media for pleasure, how hard will that be for those of us today? Be denied or fasting from social media and to give it all of your time to Jesus? What also struck me was how she heard Our Lady say, "she is also mine." I just burst into tears at this point and had to put the book down. I was full of emotion and just cried. I hope Our Lady says that about me because I need Her help so much! After finally making it back to Australia my son and I are are still homeless and it's been three months. It's very hard for me at the moment and when I read what Our Lady said, I just felt it as if She said it to me personally. I hope so. I love our Holy Mother so much.

Thank you for this wonderful post. I strongly believe in intercessory prayer. I have recently started to remember the Poor Souls when I recite the Divine Mercy. In fact, it is a good thing to recite the Divine Mercy for someone who is dying or has just passed. Also, in the Pieta Prayer book, there is a set of three prayers to recite over the dying. Sometimes, if I can remember, I offer my being at Mass and receiving Communion on behalf of the Poor Souls. I too would rather do my purgatory on earth, as I have read many accounts of souls who have come back to warn the living. I also thank Jesus for His Divine Mercy and am always filled with gratitude for Divine Mercy Sunday.

Every rosary I pray every day, I offer for the Holy Souls in Purgatory, as well as my 15 prayers of St. Bridget, the 12 yr prayer of St. Bridget, the Divine Mercy Chaplet and the 7 Sorrows Rosary... all my intentions are always for the Holy Souls in Purgatory. Why? Because I didn't pray for them, or family for many many years. Covid brought me back to intense prayer and the realization that I failed to pray for all the souls in purgatory. And when I pray for ALL the Holy Souls in Purgatory, it includes my ancestors? Sometimes I do specify for all my grandparents, great grandparents etc.

There are two colors of the soul: light and dark. We are all born with a light colored soul - purity, and innocence. Our demons - we all have one, stain our souls as we go through life: addictions, anger, hate, depression, negative thinking, etc. They stain our souls into a darker shade, until it’s dark enough to take us into the levels of hell! Love and forgiveness are key life tools! Use and exercise both. God is light. God is love! There is no darkness in God. Those who don’t make it are in purgatory. All of your actions are weighted- how you impacted the people around you: how you hurt them, the emotions they have felt, etc. you will bring this with you when you die. While you’re still alive, bring good karma with you! Love( make memories with families, pets) and help as many people as you can( volunteer, people at work, families, etc.) Your good and bad karma will follow your soul. Accumulate good karma.

The two Christine's have given such wonderful credit in this beautiful talk about the Holy Souls in Purgatory and especially on Maria Simma's book "Get us out of Here" interviewed and put together by Nicki Eltz. I read Maria Simma's book too. My mum gave it to me after she read it. I loved it so much that I ended up buying my own copy. I've heard as well that if a soul is in their death bed or nearing death due to a terminal illness, offering the Sacrifice of the Holy Mass on that person's behalf will merit them significantly more whilst they are still alive and ready to move on to eternal life. Through God's infinite mercy, it will substantially mitigate on how long that particular person will spend in Purgatory in comparison to offering the terminally ill person the Sacrifice of the Holy Mass after the person has passed on to their purgative state. I would highly recommend Maria Simma's book "Get us out of Here" The book also has a beautiful section at the end adorned with delightful and refreshing prayers for the Holy Souls in Purgatory. One precious take away (among countless others in the book) which Maria Simma also mentions is that when visiting a loved ones place of rest (grave) to always sprinkle Holy Water over their grave. When I visit my little sister's place of rest with my mum, she always takes out a large bottle of Holy Water and sprinkles it over her grave. She has been doing this religiously since my little sister entered eternal life 8 years ago.

A couple of weeks back, I had a dream where I was standing near the altar and the priest was consecrating the body and blood of our Lord during a mass, and the priest (that I had never met before) turned to me and asked, "Who do you want to offer up this communion for?" Not knowing what to answer I told the priest "one, maybe 10, can I go up to 1000 souls?" The priest looked back at me and laughed because I wasn't sure what number to give him. Reflecting back on the dream, I think God was trying to tell me that we can offer up communion for as many souls as possible without holding back. I will continue to offer up mass for all the souls in purgatory and I hope everyone can do the same 🙏🏼

I had a near death experience & feel like I experienced purgatory. It was excruciatingly painful. I never want to go there again. I knew I earned it tho. It was heartbreaking. To ache for God like that is indescribable. It was only for a second. It felt like eternity. It was horrible. I was utterly alone. Seperate from love & all that is good for the time being. Depending on your sins - every bad thing that you have done is weighted…. That was a warning for you that you’re in the wrong path.. We all have demons. And they lead us into a darker path - to hell. They taint our souls into a darker shade: addictions, pain, anger, depression, hate, negative thinking, etc. all of the bad things stain your soul into a darker shade when it’s dark enough, they bring you to the levels of hell. God is light. There is no darkness in God. Win your good vs. bad battles and clean your thoughts and habits- LOVE and Forgiveness are key life tools! Help people as much as you can while you’re still alive. Accumulate good karma, this will follow your soul.

I had a dream years ago that I believe was Purgatory. Everything looked like a canvas white and there were people in line on each side as I was walking through the middle. When I was touched by each individual I could feel their pain...it was so painful I woke up moaning and went straight to church to light a candle. It felt so real.🙏

The month of November is also a great month of the year to pray for “All Souls” but also all your ancestors from your lineage and your Spouse’s lineage. Place as many names in the envelope (relatives and friends) and give an offering for the daily masses that will be said for the souls. Also attend Mass during that time and visit the Cemetery and offer your prayers for these souls. Also the Christmas Novena is said to release the Holy Souls in Purgatory and some Churches have Mass at 6:00 a.m. to comply with this beautiful tradition. First Friday vigil starts with Mass on Friday evening (to begin the vigil) and ends with Mass at 5:00 a.m on Saturday - with confession and prayers and hymns during the night, this is offered at a few Churches, but is an amazing experience - the Catholic Church provides us with many ways to make reparation and also pray for intentions 🙏

I am living proof that the Holy Souls have really helped my father and I through covid along with the Heavenly Court by keeping us safe and providing for our immediate needs . I love you ladies! Continue doing what you do. Being a business director in ICT business, I understand purgatory as "limbus coeli" and "limbus inferni". It is like testing and purifying of outdated SW, that's is our soul&being. Nothing unclean enters the heaven. Mathematics of God's Love&Justice is strict! Consider praying of St.Gertruda, who has prayers, that saves every day at least one soul from purgatory per day! Promote Mrs.Sima from Austria heavily, who has a terrifying witnesses, how souls in purgatory needs us to help them! You know - every night after my rosary, during my dedications - I say “ I pray for the souls in purgatory- especially any of those kin to me or friends of mine” and then I go on to also name acquaintances by name , neighbors or deaths I have recently heard of . I am trying to be sure to cover everyone but after hearing this - I wonder if there is more that I can do. I also try to dedicate masses (at the time of the Eucharist) for the souls in purgatory - when I can remember but it still doesn’t feel like enough

I admit I can understand it wrong, but I understood that the soul can saved either from purgatory, or from hell, so that the promise is even greater (saving souls from purgatory is great, but I think from hell, it's greater, because this is a difference for eternity): "I was in the midst of many souls - they seemed to be purging souls and Saints - who were speaking to me and mentioning one person known to me, who died not too long ago. And they said to me: ‘He feels happy in seeing that there is not a soul who enters Purgatory without carrying the mark of the Hours of the Passion. Surrounded by the cortege of these Hours and helped by them, the souls take a safe place. And there is not a soul who flies into Heaven, without being accompanied by these Hours of the Passion. These Hours make a continuous dew pour down from Heaven to earth, into Purgatory, and even into Heaven.' Souls cannot be saved/freed from Hell. If a soul does not believe in God or rejects Him, why He should safe that soul? We have free will and God will not force anything on us.

Here one offers Jesus' suffering, which is even infinitely greater than ours. And since Jesus said it, it's good reason for me to believe it.

it has been 37 years since my baptism and communion. had i been praying St Gertrudes prayer and 1,000 people had been released from purgatory each time...and had i prayed 1 prayer per day: 365 x 37 = 13,505 x 1,000 = 13,505,000. 13,505,000 souls would have been released to heaven! talk about an absolute shocker! i feel soooo guilty about not doing this prayer! i didn't know about it. i went away from the catholic church for so long. this doesn't count the many souls released from purgatory via the rosary either! man, is my roasting in the fires gonna be well deserved!!!! Father, please, forgive me. Holy souls in purgatory, please, forgive me.

The traditional Office Of The Dead is a Catholic prayer to release souls from Purgatory- it’s found in traditional Catholic Breviaries like the 1962 Roman Breviary or the 1962 St Benedict Monastic Diurnal Catholic laity can also pray it privately - not just Catholic clergy

I have been offering Masses for the Poor Souls for a long time now. I love this practice. Plus I have been saying the St. Gertrude Prayer as well. Sorry though I will not support Amazon for there discrimination against PARLER. If you did not know about this before you should go and search the facts. Amazon shut Parler completely down.
