:-) My daughter always says " slap, pop, mmmmm" when she puts a ForJars lid on our jars because you slap it on, it pops when it seals and everything's tastes so delicious we say mmmmmm. ❤ I love your idea to can the smaller size for lunches! Imagine if all the mamas out there canned a little extra few serves for their lunches instead of forgetting themselves...BRILLIANT IDEA! ❤

I finally got around to doing this. I did half pints with a few mushrooms and chopped onion added in. I haven't tried it yet, but it's lookin' good! I used a wide mouth lid lined with Saran wrap to make the patties and that worked really well. It was a suggestion from one of your subscribers who watched the meat grinding video! Don't you just love the canning community? So much to share and learn!

I thought salisbury steak was made with beef, but after seeing this video, I believe I'll try this recipe. I actually prefer pork over beef, and not just for the cost savings. Most beef you get from the supermarket is tasteless anymore. Great video. Thank you to all involved in this years Canuary collabration.

It is traditionally beef. Also, this isn't actually a Salisbury Steak recipe, it is the Quebec Meatballs recipe from... I think she said the Ball Canning Book? The ingredients are very different from traditional Salisbury Steak though. Honestly, this version sounds better than the traditional if you ask me! I can't wait to try it!

Holy cow I'm so glad you did the smaller jars too. My Dad and Daughter laughed when I got so excited when I found a deal on smaller jars. This recipe is a game changer for my family. We have a farm and I have a difficult time feeding my boys when they come in from work, change their clothes, and go running out the door again. I could put some of these jars by the back door and they could grab one on the way out. At least I know they are getting a healthy meal (and made with love and care 😉). Such a WIN! Thank you so much for sharing! So happy about the Canuary event to find my newest mentors!

I have canned Salisbury steak using ground beef chuck. It's all gone now but was really good. And I broke all the canning rules doing it (I was new to canning then) but it didn't kill anyone 🤐 This sound like a very interesting recipe. suggestion: When you put your lids in the hot water, alternate their direction (seal side up, seal side down, etc.) and the lids won't stick togetherl

Thats how I stack the lids when I am canning also.

Definitely a must to put in my pantry! I usually do 2/3 beef and 1/3 pork when cooking any beef. Pork adds so much flavor but onions, garlic and spices, oh my, so delicious. Giveaway will be january 31 at 7:00 PM. Good luck everyone. A lady friend of mine gets her deer every year and she sends it out to get butchered and the place adds special herbs or whatever and it has to set for a while and then frozen and it is so good. I always thought it was just hamburger, but its not. He uses some pack of spices you can buy. You are amazing and thank you so much.

My husband bought me a meat grinder last year for my birthday but we’ve never used it. Might have to break it out for this😊 As far as your blades it’s always great to have a non electric backup I think. The ground meat looks fantastic! Would it overwork the meat too much to use the kitchen aid with the paddle? Wow how pretty they look! I want to try this for sure. Thanks 😊 Thanks again to Leisa and forjars for sponsoring.
