Samsung French door 4 door bottom glass removal cleaning and reinstallation

Removal of bottom glass shelf for cleaning and replacement.
1) gently but firmly press the left side Front release button located below the shelf and above water filter unit.
1a) difficult to press.
1b) The Left side looks like a button and is part of the shelf.
1c) The Right side looks like a button but is part of the water filter unit.
1d) If you only want to clean the glass, pull out both drawers, reach to the far back right and left corners to release the white clips holding the glass to this assembly. As they are opposing plastic notch jaw style, dislodging one of the 2 fingers will release the white button clip. pressing with a chop stick will do it safely without breaking anything. Others have used a screwdriver or needlenose pliers. Remove both of the white clips. Gently Lift the back of the glass pushing towards the rear of the refrigerator to release the glass from the front groove. Tilt glass at an angle to slide it out of the refrigerator.
2) Gently lift up to separate the shelf from water filter unit.
3) Lift it just high enough to clear the icemaker and pull the shelf forward such that the back end of shelf is fully out of the 2 inch groove.
4) tilt shelf about 45 degrees to remove from refrigerator.
CAUTION: Do not try to remove the 2 tabs in the back corners of the glass top until you have removed the whole shelf from the refrigerator.
Only remove rear plastic tabs from the bottom side of shelf - carefully! (ie turn it over!).
With a dull knife or small screw driver lightly press one of the grips towards the middle and down -It will fall out.
Now you can remove the glass from the shelf.
Note: Thoroughly dry the glass and shelf or you will see water form between the glass and shelf.
Replace shelf into refrigerator then add glass!
** if you do not replace those clips, you can easily remove the glass for future cleanings.

We just went through the same thing with one small spill that looked yucky, but we could not get the drawer or glass our. Went to the store we bought it at and they couldn't get it to come out either. We've had ours less than a year and ice maker replaced (freezing up) and it's freezing up again, one of the door handles is loose, and wasted an entire morning getting the shelf and glass out so one small but ugly spot could be cleaned. Even the former technician said it was a very poor design with the ice maker being right inside the refrigerator part and not blocked off by itself.

It must then be lifted at the backside and slid towards the back of the refrigerator as the glass snugs just under the front lip by about a quarter inch. Once clear of the front lip you can raise the glass carefully up and out

My wife and I were struggling with this drawer removal. The manual really doesn’t explain something so simple as removal for cleaning purposes. So , we thank you for this demonstration video. The clips that actually hold in the glass were removed by using a quarter ( my wife’s idea ) . We took the whole shelf out and flipped it over on the kitchen sink , giving us access to the clips . Perfectly cleaned refrigerator now !

We did it!!! Finally. My son and I were trying to push the clips with a knife and they broke. First one and then we just decided to remove the second one. In that way we could the out the glass and be able to clean it properly, the glass and the drawer. Maybe somebody could remove the clips without taking out the whole drawer, but let me tell you, those clips are not made to be pushed, we had to press hard. So, I think if we were doing this without taking the drawer out maybe the glass can be broken. I think this refrigerador was not designed to be cleaned.

This is just what I needed. The owner’s manual was terrible, and had I not looked for a video, would have definitely broken something. My front clips were plastic, but two screwdrivers released it. Also, I used needle nose pliers to take out the clips.

I have tried to remove this bottom glass shelf for 3 years now and could never figure it out. I went to the Samsung forum and even watched a different KZbin video. But when I saw how you guys did it and you got really close so I could see exactly HOW it was done, it boosted my confidence that I would be able to do it. Thanks so much. Could never have done it without this help. The only casualty was a tab that we did pry off before watching the video to the end. Nevertheless we decided to leave them off entirely as often we just want to clean under the glass edges. It had bothered us for so long..we finally KZbin it...n you came up. It did take the 2 of us to get the glass off. No way to push both those tabs. Used the ends of pens to have enough pressure while the other person squeezed hands in to lift the glass piece. Just glad we know how to do it now. Thank you!!!

Right on! I was on the right track, but seeing this gave me the confidence to really mash those tabs in. When I put it back, I ain’t going to replace those snaps in the back so I can just lift the glass out. I got a feeling gravity will hold the shelf down. Seeings how I had to rip out the kitchen door (in addition to disassembling the whole front of the fridge) to get it in here, if we move, this pos is staying.

TIP: Don't reinstall the 2 plastic clips that hold the glass down. You can then remove the glass shelf by raising the rear of the glass and slide rearward.

Omg this video saved me! My fingers are so sore from pressing those annoying buttons. I was so happy to finally get the shelf off only to then realize that the glass still can’t come off! 😑 I did manage to try and pour hot soapy water while pushing the glass up and down slightly to remove the icky sticky stuff that seeped in between the glass.
