Hey, it worked--thank you BigDog! Our Samsung 60" Plasma TV picture would sometimes turn on usually on the 2nd try, unless the TV was warm, then we'd have to wait 30 minutes. Then after a few years of that, it stopped altogether, so I tried this repair. Two things to watch out for that got me a little--the screws by the speakers (4) were fine thread, the rest were coarse thread--had to undo all the screws to find the right ones. Also, I must not have reconnected the ribbon cable well to the Y-main, as I had a horizontal line across the screen after repair. Cleaned the connectors and reattached and it is back to normal. THANKS!

Is this the same for a PN64D550C? Ours just started doing funky things, screen blanked out, same with audio, then audio returned, but screen blank. Would not turn off, LED on the face would not illuminate either, and was drawing power. It is plugged into a smart strip that turns everything off when the set it turned off, and everything was still powered on. I unplugged from the back, which turned off the strip and heard a relay in the set click. Waited a few minutes, plugged it back in, turned it on, and it all started working again, then after a few minutes, did the same thing as before. Would be great if this is all it is that causes it.

I recently tried this fix on my Samsung PN60E500 series (model number S60FH-YB02). It worked great! No more wondering whether the TV would come on or not. Note that the three capacitors were not all lined up like on the board shown in the video. They were all near the chip, but one was separate from the other two. Make sure to check which side is ground.

Hey bigdogg, good afternoon, need your expertice advice once again. I have this Toshiba LED that turns on for one second then the backlights go out and I can still a picture using a flashlight. I thought maybe a faulty led but I tested them and they all turn on fine. So I thought maybe video board, but didnt fix the issue either. Could it the LED driver board?

When I test the VS at the power board text point I get around 6 volts at the most. I get 0 volts for VA. Before testing, there was a spark at my power board because the board touched the metal pannel behind it. I bought a replace meant Y and X board and still no picture or VS and VA volts from power board. Do I need another power supply?

Sup bigdogg, love your work. I have a question for you. I have a Samsung LED SmartTV with no backlight. I tested the strip and they all turn on, no faulty led, but for some reason the power supply board is not sending power to the backlight. I can see words on the screen with a flashlight so I know its on. Could it be a faulty power supply board or faulty main board? I dont think its the Tcon because even when I leave the Tcon unplugged the backlight still on turn on. Thanks
@bigdog88826 жыл бұрын
Make sure that you're gettin the Backlight-On command from the Mainboard to the PS. It should be labeled "LED, BK ON, LD ON, etc" If it doesnt change to around 3.3v-4.5V, then its the Main. But most likely its the Power supply board in most Cases if your not gettin any Voltage (80v-135v) on the Led+ plugs going into the Panel.

Hello @bigdog9992, thanks for the video, I have a question. I have a Samsung plasma TV that shows the red led in the corner but it does nothing else, when I opened it I see that when I disconnect the power cable that goes to the X and Y boards and try to turn it on, I hear the samsung tune at the beginning . But when I plug it back in you can't hear that sound when turning on the device. Would that mean that either Y or X board are not working properly?
@bigdog88826 жыл бұрын
Yeah easy, just unplug 1 at a time to see which one. If U know how to use a meter, then there's probably a short on the Vs line.

How did you check those bad capacitors to tell they were bad?
@halarmstrong3 жыл бұрын
I saw another video identifying the same 3 blue capacitors. Somewhere in the thread it was stated that (1) the capacitors often test good (in circuit) with an ESR meter and (2) often test good when removed from the board and tested. Nevertheless, they often fail under load conditions. Given the low cost for 3 capacitors, it best just to replace as a low cost bet with a potential big payoff. Hey Bigdog9992! I’m having a problem with a pn51e440a2f. Powers up, sings, no picture. Voltage goes up on the vs circuits on both boards to 218ish the rapidly drops to about 10v. I unplugged the main like you said. No change. I’m suspecting capacitor issue. Have you ran into his? Thank you for any advice you might be able to give.

Unplugg the ribbon connector on the bottom of Y-main (connector coming from small digital board) and leave other big plug on top plugged in. Then recheck the same way.
@jasonperkins95405 жыл бұрын
bigdog8882 I did that. I also disconnected the top connector on each board separately to isolate each board. Even with both boards disconnected from each other I have a drain off. I have the 208 and 58v from power board to the x board. At x board voltage still drops. Issue on power board?
@bigdog88825 жыл бұрын
@@jasonperkins9540 could be, just check the "Vs ON" pin coming from mainboard to PS. Make sure that comes up and stays. If so, just change the PS board.
