You are a treasure. Go back out for more shopping, but you must get Sophia something pretty. She deserves it. I’m American so I’ll talk in pounds, but my best way for losing weight and keeping it off (going from 180 - 140) was to join a support group with weekly weigh ins. It sounds corny but it worked. Unfortunately, I moved away because of work. I gained it back 😢. I eat when I’m stressed and 10 years later I’m still working on it.

I gained 145 pounds at one point in my life. It took me a year to loose the first 100. And then about six to seven months to loose the rest. I did keep it off for a very long time. I was chronically single, unhappy with myself, and found comfort in food. I went for a walk every day, kept a diary, when I had take away I cut the portions in half immediately and put them away (out of site out of mind), lastly I focused more on healing myself then on the weight itself. I did not date for the entire time. I felt like I needed to address my own issues before bringing anyone else’s into my life. I continue to do things as much as possible. I am now disabled due to a genetic condition and have gained weight back ( due to medications and tumors on my thyroid). I am happily married now and like myself. All in all I think I am a success story.

So... my therapist always says that people will only listen to what they're prepared to hear, but I'll give it a shot either way: Embrace the pigness and be tolerant of it. It's fine. You're stressed and this is one of the ways you cope. It's not the end of the world. You're not harming people, you're not aggressively harming yourself (putting on a few lbs and getting some breakouts is NOT that dramatic.) Just get yourself through it, even if you're not at your best. That's for later ;) For now, eat that chocolate and enjoy it. Now, because you know this is your go-to method, prepare for the next time this happens and work on mitigating the pigness. If the next time you're sad you pig out 5% less, that's a real success :) It's just about getting that 5% to 6%, then 7%, and so on. Chin up! You got this!🍫🍫🍫

Hey Satch. I have lost 90 lbs, and it's been two years. I know that isn't a decade, but most importantly, for the first time in my life I have no doubt I can keep it off for good. The key to keeping the weight off is that you absolutely must find something that is sustainable for the rest of your life. What that thing is, will be different for everyone. If you start to try something new, and you are even finding it mildly hard towards the beginning, then there is no viable chance that it will last long term. Short story - I do my own version of 16/8 fasting. This allows me to loosely focus on healthier eating (which makes me feel good), while still being able to eat whatever the hell I want on a regular basis (which makes me feel happy). I'm incredibly happy with how I eat now, much more so than when I ate junk food all the time. I actually feel good about how I eat, even though sometimes I still eat garbage. I'm never hungry, and I never have a craving I can't fulfill. The more in depth version. I knew that I had to be able to eat junk. I absolutely love junk, and there was no realistic way I was going to live consistently the rest of my life without it. I tried calorie counting, and doing that thing where they have you eat three healthy meals a day along with two shitty snacks, or one ridiculous bite of chocolate as "a treat." I was absolutely miserable, and these things had me thinking about food 24/7, it was a freaking nightmare..for some people these things work. But that just wasn't going to do it for me. I was losing weight, but I knew I could not live this way the rest of my life. When I started to feel like I just wasn't going to be successful, I decided to try eating without breakfast. Initially, this was just a way to get more calories for my other meals, so that I could make them taste better with some shitty stuff that I like (mmm, butter). As I got used to not eating breakfast, it actually became really easy to just eat less. My habit became just eating lunch (or what I call first meal), dinner, and if I want it, sometimes a snack or dessert (just because I can). I always have a healthy first meal, then I eat whatever the fuck I want for dinner. I try to stay on the healthier side of things most nights out of the week, but I don't really stress about it too much, and I just mean healthier, not strictly healthy. My desserts are usually chocolate yogurt with marshmallows and chocolate chips in it, or a low calorie ice cream. Again this keeps it on the *healthier* side, but I'm eating what I like and not worrying about it too much. And this also all leaves me room to occasionally just eat garbage. Sometimes I want a burger, chips, or reese's peanut butter cups... so I do, and I've still lost weight doing it. Anyhow, this is what I found works for me. I absolutely cannot imagine ever going back to eating the way I used to. I'm much happier about the way I take care of my body now. Good luck. I hope you find what works best for you.
@ChaoticMoira7 ай бұрын
@renee9977 I am really glad that it clicked with you. I hope it helps in some way. There has always been a clear line for between foods that are good for me, and foods that make me feel happy. And a lot of the time I like good for me foods, but it's still not the same thing.

I've been fat. I started eating carnivore on 1/1/23. My gut didn't like it. Most people get constipated, but I had the opposite issue. I incorporated veggies but low carb veggies, so no potatoes, corn, etc. Basically, keto, but I do mostly eat animal products, meat, dairy, butter, and eggs. I lost over 52 lbs relatively quickly without exercising. I've kept the weight off. My advice, though, is to exercise so as not to lose muscle. I began going to the gym to strengthen my bones and build muscle. You have to give up the processed foods. Even if you're one of the lucky people that can eat it without gaining weight, you are still destroying your body.

My gay best friend always has issues in the gay dating market in the rural US. Unfortunately most of the gay men around here are closeted or married and closeted. I understand their struggle but my advice to my friend is that he deserves to be boasted about and a secret. Wishing you all the best and don’t ever settle! I have been trying to journal often but when you’re video blogging and not posting is it still helpful? Are you rewatching your old videos? That’s the part of keeping a written diary that helps me the most. I go back and read a couple months or flip through year so I can actually identify changes and different periods of my life and reflect on them. It’s easier for me to tell now when I’m about to go in a downward spiral. So I know I need to slow down and reset. Thanks love just listening to you even if it’s not the sims! Just love your authentic self!

I do have an underactive thyroid, so my weight is a constant battle. I found that eating what I want but in moderation helped. I believe that when you deny yourself something, like chocolate, ice-cream etc., that is when you will eat more of it. Diets fail because they tell you to stop eating certain foods, if you like it, eat it but learn when to stop. I grew up in a family where you had to have a clean plate before you could leave the table, basically forcing me to overeat, now I stop when I'm full and don't feel guilty about leaving food on the plate. Personally, I think you look great. Keep doing your mental health walks.

Figure out what your cravings are. I'm addicted to sugar, I could never stop my hunger unless I finished off my meal with something sweet, because I knew this I chose to eat lower calories sweet things e.g. I would have 2 or 3 butter mints after I've eaten, they are 33 cals, not extremely sweet but sweet enough to kill the craving, esp cause it takes a long time to finish them in comparison to other sweet treats. If I want something even sweeter, I might have 2 slices of toast with butter and strawberry jam, but I avoided chocolate, biscuits and really sugary sweets. I personally never drank my sugar e.g. fizzy drinks or squash, that never satisfied my craving and used up too many calories. But ofc, make sure you've eaten a proper meal beforehand, and it was a decent size, never starve yourself, weight loss is all a matter of calories in and out, you have to calorie count whether you like it or not, but you don't have to be strict, I only counted calories of my treats/snacks, my main meals were never too massive a portion and they weren't very high carb so I wasn't concerned about calories. You would be suprised the amount of food you can eat and still be in a deficit if you choose your meals right. Have more protein than carbs, the carbs will not keep you full long enough. I managed to lose 23kg, and maintain the loss for 3 years now 😊 another big factor in weight loss, and probably the most important, is your mental wellbeing. I had been obese since I was a child, and I could only properly start losing weight when I moved out of my family home, the environment was not good for me mentally, so I kept binge eating to self soothe.

I was obese as a young child and asthmatic (6 years old weighing almost 50kg), my parents took me to the nutritionist and I had to go swimming. I swam twice a week, and I wasn't allowed any processed food, fizzy drinks or sweeties I ate mostly fish, and poultry, but mostly vegetarian dishes. I lost all my excess weight within a year and kept it off since. I did get chubby once again at the age of 17 (from having chocolate and ice cream every day lol), but I managed to lose it quickly because I did a lot of cardio. I highly recommend swimming as it works most muscles in your body and you don't need to swim for hours to get noticeable results. in short priortise moving, do have your chocs and takeaways but not everyday (4 times per month max), increase vegetable intake.

I was a fat kid and teen like 180lbs at 12. I'm about to be 31 and fluctuate between 110 and 130 now. I wouldn't say I'm healthy at all. I just switched from one bad thing to another, not by choice tho. I had some traumatic stuff happen to me as a kid and by 15 my body tried to force me to deal with it by giving me a de. I couldn't keep anything down. I went to the doctors and they couldn't find anything wrong with me. It got to the point where I had to learn to eat a bite of something for hours. Luckily, shortly after turning 16 someone introduced me to weed so I was able to keep food down when I ate. That's why I believe it to be caused mental and emotional issues and not something physical. Even now I can't eat when I'm upset without it coming back up. I do forget to eat now tho, that's probably how I'm keeping my weight where it is. I would just suggest you keep yourself distracted with small physical projects. Cleaning, rearranging, helping some old lady with her garden. Alot of small activities takes up alot of time and fat. Especially if you are eating small snacks throughout the day instead of having whole means. Snacks doesn't equal junk, remember.

I lost 40 pounds with calorie counting. Did one week of strict calorie counting. I counted EVERY SINGLE THING that went in my mouth, food and drinks, and weighed it all on a scale to make sure I was counting the correct portion size, but didn't change what I was doing. I found my average daily calorie intake over that week, and made my new goal be 500 calories less per day. I did that until I plateaued, and if I had plateaued for 2 weeks, I dropped the calorie goal by another 200 calories. And since it's normal for weight to fluctuate a little each day, I calculated my weight change by what my average weight was for the entire week (always made sure to weigh myself first thing in the morning to stay consistent). It took about 1 year, but I lost it. Over that year I got really good at recognizing how many calories are in certain foods and what portion sizes I can eat of my favorite snacks/sweets/indulgences without going overboard. I also found out what foods I really thought were worth the calories and which ones I was only eating cause of convenience, boredom, etc. I didn't have any food that were off-limits (no Keto diet or anything like that, if you tell me I CAN'T have something, then that's all I crave). I've kept it off by weighing myself EVERY morning. I have a 5 pound range that I'm allowed to be in, but if I'm over that range for more than 1 week straight, I go right back to strict calorie counting. I've kept it off for 5 years now. That was my journey in case it helps you in any way. Keep strong, and I love your content!

Then I've had an ijury and that changed everything. Im not saying you need to broke your leg or something like this :D after the surgery I lost a lot of weight and when I recovered I've gained more back than ever. Im trying like 5 years now and there is 2 thing that working to me. I was at my best when I worked alone in a small children's shoe store, packing all day and eating only salad for lunch. And now I'm in uni I mostly eat/drink home made smoothies and walk. So it always depends on what I eat, because only training doesn't work for me. And I need to be busy because when I have a lot of task to do I dont have the time to eat and I'm not craving either.

My body always was in this panic mode because beside the starving I burned a lot of calories on the trainings.

I struggled with my weight for years. I found out that I had leaky gut (doctor diagnosed). I got back to my goal and had a flat tummy, and thigh gap!!! I can recommend that process. Its a pain in the butt at the start, but was able to maintain. I still have takeaway, but I am disciplined and know some takeaways are worse for my gut than others. I could have chocolate on the diet, as well as potato and cheese. But there were certain times I could have them. I also do the 16:8 as most people eat to much, and that limits my eating time. Having said that, I am gonna go have a big name chocolate bar right now lol. Gut also affect the thyroid as well, as some science stuff about it makes the thyroid hormone metabolise in the gut.

Just important that you have to eat only keto friendly food and your chocolate must be switched to dark chocolate. This diet also clears up skin and after a month you have a ton of energy. Only the first week of starting keto is bad because you develop a keto flu but after surviving that... And you wil...you turn your body into a 24/7 fat burning machine. Good luck Satch

Oml, Satch. Gaining a few pounds isn't the end of the world. BUT. I know where you're coming from, I'm much the same. Emotional eaters unite! Lol. I haven't followed you long enough to know any of this about you, but cooking helps. (Dunno if you cook or have a bigger freezer, but if you don't. Invest in that!) I know I know we hear that all the time and most of the times we cant be arsed. But hear me out: the pig phase will come, again and again. Maybe you can't be bothered to cook during that phase but once you're out. Cook for yourself. Not just super healthy but also things you'd LOVE to eat during a pig phase and freeze them in portions. Meal prepping! By cooking them yourself they'll have a fraction of the calories takeout would have, but the lazy pig we all have in us in that phase L O V E S to be able to just go to the freezer, get a portion, microwave it and bam. Food. Try to freeze a variety of foods. Healthy portions (yes portion them dont bulk freeze otherwise you'll overeat again) but a variety. I try to cook atleast 5 -10 portions of whatever I cook and freeze atleast half of it. So I have healthy meals, and sometimes just good not so healthy ones for whatever my heart desires. Way cheaper for you aswell, healthier and you wont gain as much back during these phases, and outside of that? You'll stay snatched and sexy cause you're eating real food which has way less calories. Thats the magic trick of staying slim once you've lost the weight. Staying active and home made meals. If you have a day of just "fuck it I'm staying home." KZbin is your best friend. Yoga, workouts, stretches theres videos to workout at home on any topic. (And also super low calorie sweets for the cravings, check out Rahul Kamat on youtube as example). 👀 Can't help you with dating advice, much in the same boat. Most guys just suck. Haha. But don't loose your standards. I agree wholeheartedly with them and if a relationship doesn't come with them, is it even worth it? You're precious, and someone will love you for you. I'm the same with being honest from the get go, and I feel like thats what most people can't handle. In theory they all say honesty is most important, in reality its not always so easy for em. But don't change. I won't either. We got this. 😊

Sometimes you're not supposed to be in a long term relationship. Sometimes you're just meant to happen in someone else's life. Sometimes we're just a lesson to be learned. Sometimes is our own lesson to learn. That is true of everyone. I believe things happen when they're supposed to. I believe people have "soul mates" that sometimes just aren't ready to be your mate yet. Sometimes the universe is still moving things around, but you're always in the right seat so never fret. 🌺 Oo elf bar ! My favorite vape. Wondering what flavor that is. I lost weight and maintained it by changing jobs. I went from a desk job to a job that requires a lot of stair climbing daily. Change your daily habits and your daily body will change. Playing the sims a lot (saying from experience) also makes you gain weight 😂. Sitting and playing a game for hours every day and lets not forget how easy it is to eat and scroll buildbuy with the other hand..

With weight I hover in the same weight range for a long time and end up managing to lose a bit at a time. Even though this sounds cliche, it has help to be aware of exactly how much food is on my plate then choosing to eat half. If I want a sweet, only eating a few bites then putting it away. Basically just eating less of the food you like. For exercise... My goal has never really been "lose weight"; it's been "feel healthier". If I can walk 5 miles when I could only do 2 a month ago, that makes me feel really nice about my progress. I spend a lot less time checking the scale too because that creates worry and unneeded stress.

I have Hashimoto and I was fat, i got healthy by disciplining myself and eating breakfast at 9 (healthy something like eggs, healthy fat, cheese, and those simple things. Not s*it like oatmeal, smoothies, avocado and stuff). Eating a piece of fruit at 15h and having lunch at 19. After that no food. I only eat integral bread for breakfast, I don't eat pasta and other similar things. Also, I take a probiotic capsule in the morning on an empty stomach, and occasionally I take an omega 3 capsule and vitamin D. I drink water and black coffee. Also, I move a lot (walks, and general moving, less sitting) , I don't go to the gym, I prefer outside. This is my way of living, I'm sticking to this "diet". Before all of this I had 110 kg (it was 2 years ago), now I have 70 kg. I am 183 cm tall. Hope this helps.

Idk if this will help, but there are a few things I do to not gain weight and even if I'm not thin, I still look good, normal. First thing is breakfast, I never skip it unless I woke up really late lol, and also I try to always eat the same thing or something similar so I don't have to overthink in the mornings. I NEVER est sugar in the mornings because I've noticed I end up craving sugar later on that day. Breakfast is really important to keep me eating normally through the day. On days I do not eat it, somehow I always make a mess and it a lot of things. Reduce sugar and if you can don't eat it for a while (it will make you feel awful at first but getting used to less of it is going to be good in the long run). This is because of the insulin spike you get after eating sugar that makes you basically want to eat more sugar when it starts to go down (same reason why i don't eat it at breakfast). I eat sugar free chocolates (with sweetners, I'm not a monster lol), and everything I can find that is sweetened, I also learned to bake with sweetners so I can make sugar free brownies and it helps a lot. Try not to drink things with a lot of calories (frappuccinos, soda, etc) and replace them for a version of them with fewer calories. Like a latte is okay, but do not put whipped cream on top 😂. Those 3 things have helped me a lot. And btw I don't mean never eat sugar again or not to have a frappuccino, but prioritize things. And for people thinking "well, sweetners are bad", yeah ok but I don't want to gain weight, and they help to get me to stay in a healthy place with myself. I have hypothyroidism and that slows down my metabolism. It is one thing or the other in my eyes.

I was 20lbs over my ideal weight and in 2009 I was focused on losing it. I worked out and used a weight machine. I quit soda and now would rarely ever drink it. I am back to being 20lbs over that has to do with not getting out and walking more often. My dog passed and was a good walking partner and motivator. Sugar and sweets is not evil just watch how much and make sure there is good healthy food mix in that day. I started drink oat milk because it has Vitamin D and since I am very fair skin and don't want to risk skin cancer (already had basal cell removed and 2 bad freckles) Oat milk is a good way to get Vitamin D. I used to drink regular cow's milk but it has gotten really expensive for organic.

First, not down a peg, secondly and I don’t mean this in a way where you need it, but if you feel sad about the kilo’s drink a lot of water, by that I mean I got really down and felt bad about my weight and I started drinking more water when I felt like snacking and over time it helped me feel better and lose a little of the extra lbs, once again I don’t think you need to lose anything, but since I can relate I thought I’d share what helped me, a lot of the times when we think we’re hungry we actually should be drinking water

Obviously we don't have the same body or the same situation so I don't know how far this would help you. I used to swim professionally and the moment I stopped, I blew up like a balloon that's about to burst on its own. It didn't matter how much or how little I ate. I still gained weight and was always hungry. What helped me to lose the weight was basically tricking my body. You know the trend of "never let them know your next move"? I did that. I would limit my calorie intake as much as possible and before my body gets used to getting that few calories a day, I'd make a cheat day where I can absolutely binge on everything I wanted to eat. Just for one day. After that I'm back to dieting. Another thing that my mum told me and helped me a lot is to not eat anything 4 to 5 hours before I go to bed. So from 6 pm to 6 am I would be water fasting. It took time to lose the weight but I dropped it all in the end in like 2 years and never gained it back. I eat intuitively now so by nature I have one off day every now and then where I binge. But after that my stomach stays full the day after so I eat less unintentionally. The moment I didn't feel the need to track my calories anymore was the start of me finding my own balance when it comes to calorie intake and finally being able to listen to my body

Hi Satch, long time watcher of your main channel, first time commenter. Firstly, I won't echo the comments of others saying 'you're not obese' and all that. While I agree with them, I also know what it's like to have those comments in your life when you know yourself that you've put on weight. I guess in a way, I sometimes view it as toxit positivity and I heard it a lot from my mother when I was actually obese and so I guess when I hear it now, all I hear is lies. Only you know yourself your target weight and how close/far you are from that. Anyway, on to my main comment. Since you asked for advice from former fatties, here's my own 'Weightloss journey'. I gained a load of weight from secondry school to the end of college. Like, from a UK womens size 12 to bordering size 20 big. I was a proper fattie. I can't tell you my weight or measurements at the time as given the 'toxic positivity' from my mother at the time, she just told me I was normal and a 'ladies size'... Hmm. As for how I list it. I took a gap year and got a hellish job in a convenience shop on the top of a massive hill. I had to walk up it every day. I also discovered coffee at the time and used that to suppress food cravings. That got me from size 18+ to 14. I then went to uni where it all fell off over my 3 years studying. I think I literally just was so busy I neither had the time to eat, or think about how hungry I was. In those 3 years I dropped all the way down to a size 8. That was 10 years ago now, though. I've put on a little (over winter I gained half a stone) but I'm still only a size 8/10 depending on what style I wear. This is the tricky part though; how have I kept it off? I eat decently. I have weekly oven food night, frequent curries, chocolate often, I drink spirits like a fish in an ocean, but I still maintain the same weight range. How? Now here's the boring part that requires effort sadly, there's no quick fix. Disipline. I walk 2.4 miles to work and back (5miles total) 5 days a week. I eat a 'diet' lunch every day, but that leavs room to indulge over dinner. Dinner itself is bulk cooked then reheated on work days, no room in the schedule for sudden take aways. I think you're still at home, and also stay at your deks a lot of the time, which is the hardest part imo. I find myself snacking a lot when I'm at home because it's just there. Sadly, I thin kyou might just need to be stern with yourself and set meal restrictions/ fasting hours/ treat resrictions. Have long daily walks. Get a at home walker if you want to stay in. You can do it though! I believe in you!

so to lose weight you have to get rid of oil and the bread and pasta rice etc. basically calorie deficit diet. there isnt really any other way and along with that eat vegetables and salads but dont use oil and soak up oil and extract as much oil as you humanly can from any food that you eat with paper towels and dont use oil on pans use non stick pans with no oil and dont use mayo cus thats fatty. eat fries but make them in the airfryer with only a coat of ol and soak up as mouch as you can after you take them out and dont pour them onto a plate from the airfryer the oil in the airfryer will pour along with it just pick them up and dry them from the oil. always line your plate with a paper towel when you have fried or oily stuff on it so that it soaks up the oil. eat like chicken breats with seasoning cus seasing doesnt make you fat and chicken breast is really lean meat so it good. eat less bread and the fruits and the lean meat you eat should always take more space than the bread or pasta or rice on your plate. alwayss eat smaller portions. you have to work on how you cook and you have to forget about any of the ways that you used to cooked before and start cooking like you have never cooked before and learn how to make stuff less fatty. take out or dont eat unneceerry high calorie stuff from your meals like no you dont need that. dont eat out more than once a week. track your caloires. buy no sugar snacks or cola zero with less calories. sweeteners are unhealty but contain less calories. fruits also contain tons of natural sugars so they count too as calories. only eat 2 meals a day and sleep early so you dont have night cravings. vape lots so that it takes your appetite away and you may feel sick from vaping so much with an empty stomach but i mean it makes you not want to eat so. make this weight loss thing into as much of a crazy toxic obsessive thing as possible or it wont be consistent. i lost lots of weight in an incredibly short amount of time just to not get called fat anymore when i have to take my shirt off in the summer an dit worked. when i lost weight i wasnt using my adhd meds eihter so this is just how it be. i sustained this weight for some time without meds then i got on my adhd meds again and those meds make me not eat at all when i am under the meds i just dont feel hungry and every food is disgusting to me. it just makes it really hard to like food when im under the meds when the effect wears off or i dont take the meds the want comes back again to eat. what i did may seem unhealty but you just gotta take less calories thats it. i am also with you on this fat thing i hate when people say oh you look great. like they need to shut up and walk out of their room and see how no one likes fat and how nobody can hide it that they dont like fat ppl. i was fat i was always fat but people were amazed on how i lost weight. the girlies were amazed too its litterally so refreshing but i have to tell you this. people get used to it after some time and its forgotten about. people will take granted that you look that way and its jsut that. being skinny doesnt make any i meannnn any of your phycologicakslkdn stuff go away i am still the same sad me as before it litterally is nothing. it also doesnt cahmge your personality it doesnt make you a more soical or tolerable perosn it doesnt make anyone like your personality more and it doesss notttt make you act less autistic and weird. i honestly relate so much to on most stuff its so funny i die for these by no means have i turned into a twink no i am still a normal weight but a little on the skinny side like my belly has gone kinda flat and stuff but im not a stick like my arm will get wider if you press on it. btw i honestly relate so much to on most stuff you say its so funny i die for these i hate people being woke and poeple just annoy me so much with the ideas and words that arent even theirs they just keep talking absolute bullshit that they have heard on social media the real like and real life social situaitons are much harder and it is nothing like any of the people on here knwo about and i get you on that. people here will get so shocked and traumatised from the stuff we face daily if we told them everyhting its actually funny. i really want to write way more on here but i just wanna keep vaping my mango peach watermelon vape and eating snacks while watching youtube. its actually so weird you will probably never see this comment but i can deal with it im literraly fine

Oh god, the D in the glass made me choke on my tea 🤣 Was not prepared for that this early in the morning haha!!! Special interests can be both a blessing and a curse. For me it calms me down if i feel a meltdown is on the way but I tend to really become obsessed and in some ways it can feel like a prison 😅 Idk if you just joked about maybe being autistic, i know I did at first but it has been a year now since i got diagnosed and it explained soooo much…. Like failed relationships both romantic and friends and how I process my emotions and how i am with food and stuff. Perhaps something to look into? Btw you look great in the video 😉

I just want to say first of all that I don't think you're obese, and even if you are, this does not devalue you as a human being. We all come in all shapes and sizes and what matters more is the kind of person you are inside and how you treat people. Also BMI is bs, it was not designed for what the medical profession use it for. So I lost 10kg last year- admittedly not a huge amount and I need to lose another 10kg - and have managed to keep most of it off. What helped me most was not denying myself the food I like; my motto is "everything in moderation". So instead of chocolate every day like I used to, only have chocolate 2 or 3 times a week. Still enjoy those takeaways, but go for the less fatty option e.g. chicken salad from my favourite Turkish place instead of a big whopper meal. BUT I will still get the whopper if I really want to. Remember you don't have to eat everything on your plate; pay attention to whether you feel full or not, do you really need that last spoonful? Consistency is also important, and also being realistic. Don't try to lose weight too quickly, you will end up feeling hungry and just bingeing anyway. And it should be a lifestyle change, rather than a diet, hence why you should keep it realistic. Maybe you can live off 1200 calories a day for a month or two, but you can't do that for the rest of your life! Switch to leaner meats like chicken and fish, cut down on your carbs (put a bit less on your plate than you would normally, keep cutting it down as you see fit). Add more veggies to your plate. If you want, start working out; muscle burns more calories, it will help to keep the weight off.
