I absolutely love this shoe. Mine are at 560 Kms and used the shoes for all types of runs. The foam still feels good and the outsole is surprisingly still good. I expected it to get eater up with the exposed foam and the places I run in. Mine has developed a tear in the upper. There is a plastic liner thing along the front that provides structure and the tear is at the spot where it ends on the side. It is also the place where my little toe wedges against. Giving the shoe a break before I'll use it again.

Amazing! glad to hear the foam is good, not so much about the upper!

I'm surprised that they've held up this well. I'm using light trainers for my daily runs lately: Noosa Tri 14, Rebel V3, and Hyperion Max.

First Like to Andy. Interesting description. ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡Kinvara for ever!!!!!!. Have a wonderful friday.

I have over 400km in mine and they have worn really well. The foam in the forefoot does start to pack out around 350km. I'm 85kg and 171cm tall and I lateral heel strike but the heel is still good.

Ordered a pair yesterday for $70 cdn. Haven’t had a pair of Kinvara since the 11 (which I did not like). Really hope these bring me back.

I have over 400 miles in my Takumi Sen 8 now. Retired it at around 300, but then gave it another go and it’s still surprising me.

Very underrated shoe. I can only assume that it’s the lack of plushness that is the problem. Thing is, taking out the superfluous weight makes it so much better as a running shoe. That and the Lightstrike Pro foam and the Continental rubber.

Mine tore and blew out at 95 miles.... ugh

Got to love a review that uses vocabulary like "aplomb," Interesting about the outsole, but not really surprising. Most "rubber" these days is polymers made from petroleum, which is also describes most plastics like midsole foams. Looks like Saucony has found a winner in a polymer that has good compression as well as durability properties that can work for both midsole and outsole. I'd like to see shoe reviewers stop assuming that durability can be judged just by looking at the outsole of a new shoe. For certain a rubberized EVA outsole is more durable than a poorly bonded rubber layer, which some Nike shoes have had.

Thanks, I try and vary up my vocab haha. Yeah totally understand about the guesswork... I base mine on experience in similar shoes and what my gut tells me, but its not always right... I do feel the foam will be the first thing to go in these

Loved the video,.. Again a basic question... I need to buy a daily trainet, M confused between Ride 17 and Kinvara 14. Which one do you recommend? You mentioned in one comment Ride 17 is one go for all however what featurrs or run you cant do on Kinvara?
@TheFODRunner14 күн бұрын
Thanks! Id say it’s the very fast top end speed that the Kinvara does well but the ride doesn’t… other than that, the ride is probably a better all round shoe!

HEY Andy, don't thrashed the K11, I'm still using it and like them. And I got along well with Takumi Sen 8 just that the sizing a bit too long. Will pick this up if I see them on discount.
@shanedorrian81928 ай бұрын
Have the Takumi Sen 8 as well for when it’s a bit wet or damp on the roads when it’s dry I still use the OG Endorphin Speeds which imho is still better than most speed shoes today.

Morning Andy - I have a love hate relationship with these. I've been a Kinvara fan since v7 and when I first got the 14s I absolutely hated them! I persevered and now enjoy using them as a fast workout shoe (I had a great hill session with them on Wednesday!). The only problem I have is with the fit, I find them so narrow and they sometimes end up rubbing my heel. I'm hoping the v15s sort this out for me, as they've always fitted like a glove out of the box.

I was skeptical of the K14 with the increased stack. Like the K11s, I enjoyed the K14 but neither feels like a Kinvara (K9 is my fav). But unlike all Kinvaras I've tried, the flaw with the K14 is the aggressive narrow taper which crushes my toes. They made it more comfie for 20+ miler runs with the increased stack, but worse due to the fit. Ugh.
@TheFODRunner8 ай бұрын
They are indeed narrow, that is the only downside for me too!

Hi Andy, looking to pick up a main shoe for a marathon block, I had the ride 15 which I loved but also a bit of a heavier runner, for a do it all would you go Ride 17 over these or do you think they could do it all? Cheers!
@TheFODRunner8 ай бұрын
Id pick the ride 17 as a do it all shoe or the brooks hyperion max, they cover a wide range of running!
@antonyh43847 ай бұрын
How do the Kinvara 14s compare with the Brooks Hyperion Max? They are both lightweight, plateless shoes but do they fulfil a similar role?

I think the entire Adidas line up is designed for that foot strike you described, with the bevel of the heel they definitely like being compressed on the outside where the inside gives enough support to stop you collapsing inward. but if you land flat that support just isn't going to be there and the outside will push you over. I get the opposite thing happening with other brands where the shoe forces you to land flat, which because of this foot strike then forces it to collapse on the inside because there's no build up from the foot strike. shoes be complicated.

They definitely can be complicated! and yes I agree about Adidas shoes....

Kinvara is plain EVA Pwrrrun with a tpu insole. Brooks Hyperion Tempo is so much better.......
@tsubakichan8 ай бұрын
Kinvara is supposed to be a natural feel, so I hope they never move to a bouncy foam. (And I enjoy bouncy/energetic foams. I just don't believe all shoes should have them.)
@TheFODRunner8 ай бұрын
Yes... hyperion tempo is better for sure... but I would use these two shoes differently anyway so they work together!
