This is awesome. Thanks for the content. I verbalized feeling statements and the men told me, "You sound recited, like you're reading from a script," and they described my feelings as sarcasm, then told me that I read too much. I guess this says alot about their character. It really hurts when a man u care about responds to you this way after you've expressed how you feel.

You’re welcome, Natalie! Yes, the point of expressing how you feel is not to “make” a man do something, but to be authentic and see what he does with that information. In other words, does he take your feelings and needs into account, or does he dismiss them? This is VERY important information that gives you insight into what kind of partner he would be.

Thank you for this, it's very useful. Is it ok to express negative feelings when such as disappointment or uncomfort when expressing dissatisfaction with a certain behavior? I feel like it's difficult to always put a positive twist to needs when someone does something that's clearly disrespectful or inconsiderate. Wouldn't that also inspire them to adjust their behavior cs I, myself, wouldn't want to cause any negative feelings in my partner. I'm also a little apprehensive of asking their opinion on what is a very strict boundary for me. I feel like it opens a negotiation on something I'm not willing to tolerate.

I actually didn’t use any “strategies” with him, everything just flowed naturally. That being said, it’s always important to learn how to communicate authentically from the heart, be vulnerable and fully accept HIM when he does the same - that was probably the biggest turning point for me. 💗

How do you navigate a situation where the guy tells you he’s only dating you it’s been 6 weeks and starts a physical relationship with you , but the word exclusive doesn’t come up and online profile still exists. You’ve already told him at the beginning that you’re looking for a long term relationship and he’s wanting the same thing .Both parties over age 40.

If you need some clarity you can always ask for it. To him, “only dating you” and “exclusive” might mean the same thing. You could let him know that you love being with him, and it would feel good to get some clarity if you’re going to continue being intimate to make sure you’re on the same page and not make assumptions.
