I am wishing the next Scaler version will have more options to create user guitar strumming patterns and piano appegiator midi patterns like in some Guitar VSTs have. Current version has some midi patterns but not enough. Without enough midi patterns and without the options for users to create their own midi strumming patterns or apeggiator patterns, Scaler is just a chord driven/generator software. I do not care for scaler to have more sounds built in because I believe people will use other sampler VST sounds rather than Scaler sounds. That’s my wish and suggestions for next scaler version. Thanks.

I like all your suggestions. My own wish is a bit more structure around saving scaler states. If possible I would like the facility to create a project specific directory on my hard drive directly from within scaler. I know this can easily be achieved already using the file manager system and but it’s a bit clunky. Would also be nice to view and re load states for a specific project as needed within the scaler interface from a drop down. I particularly like your suggestions re options relating to more extensive humanization options and had a thought…personalized humanization. Scaler can evaluate the key of a midi clip …might it be possible to also evaluate the micro timing embedded within that midi file and maybe certain other expression factors present in the original performance and then have the option of imposing them as presets on Scaler generated chord sequences. I really like your suggestion of having an option to load or unload the scaler instruments as needed, as you point out when using several instances of the VST there can a significant increase in RAM usage. Finally the suggester and transposition aides are really good within Scaler currently…however it would be useful to some folks to be able to toggle a pattern to its relevant related minor or major keys ….perhaps also other common transposition patterns used in western music . That would really speed composition work flow up I think. …a click and collect circle Fifths. Best Des 🙏🙏🏿🎩

First of all I want to wish you a Happy New Year I especially liked the suggestion of a version of the plugin without built-in sounds. My PC cannot bear the load of many Scalers with their sounds, and in this way it would be different, of course. As for the suggestion that the right-hand notes can only play notes in the chord, I will tell you that I would see it well as an option, leaving the freedom (and creativity) to play other notes that do not belong to the chord. I would like Scaler 3.0 to incorporate the option to generate negative harmony chords. There are already plenty of options for generating chords and good chord progressions in Scaler, but (as I've discussed on the Scaler Forum on occasion) this feature is something I'd like to see incorporated.

In scaler 3.0 I would like to customise keys-lock/chord notes area some more. More than two octaves for more virtuose lead and basslines. To send the notes played in the chord note area to a seperate midi channel. Also when I send notes into scaler I would like to set a range for scaler only to detect that range of notes. These would improve my personal worlflow alot. Anyway, this is one of the best musical tools out there, thanks to all involved!

- More ''touch screen friendly''. - In guitar mode, we need to see the chord chart that reflects the chosen voicing position, not just the basic chord.

id like if you could make the white keys your chords and the black keys as notes in the scale of each chord you play. so you can do lead or bass sounds freely with the chords. (im also saying this with a very very small midi keyboard) THANKS!
@41Fingers3 жыл бұрын
Yeah there are so many musical ideas one could do with that concept of leading with chords and having black keys be notes of the chord or scale of each chord all so different patterns of the chord notes.

I totally love your idea at the 720 mark. Splits.... and when you are playing a chord assigned with one key left hand... right hand defaults to the notes in that key scale (white keys). I get that monster musicians do not need that... but musicians with ears... and heart.... but no keyboard theory would love it!!!! I am a Newb to scaler... but that would rock. Also..... more progression options for ambient / chill / classical. Was a bit disappointed with progressions available. Seems a legit category to expand.

I’d love to see a fretboard step sequencer were you selected the tuning of the fret board and can create riffs and learn it on your own instrument also. When you select chords you can drag it along the time line and view the chords on the fret board and in the step sequencer you could view also scale notes to add licks etc Also just a step sequencer in general that you can select to play chord and or scale notes

I would like to have more performances I like to record the midi of performances in scaler then drag the midi onto a track and mess around with it from there chop it up or extend parts, add or subtract notes, more performances would be neat. If they could add pitch axis theory to scaler that would be awesome, but That kind of feels impossible. I feel like it is a pretty complete program really.

I would like Scaler doing what the software Divisimate does. Splitting a chord into different midi channels, so that you can asign different instruments oder instrument groups to the seperated channels.
@41Fingers3 жыл бұрын
interesting if they could do that
@idw_audio_it3 жыл бұрын
I am into that too. The chord track in Cubase can do it when in omni mode. So you can split a chord. But I’d like to have it to split to always 5 channels. If it is a 3 chord then the most important voices are duplicated according to typical arranging rules.

Yes this! I would also love it if it could send short notes to one articulation and long notes to another.

In 2024: 1. better Modulation to other keys integration. 2. Modal Interchange Integration in the suggest modus. 3. Harmoniesation of Melodies. Maybe AI could do a good job.
@boomieboo Жыл бұрын
I want AI like features integrated into it. For instance, you would be able to prompt or upload a song, solo, melody, bassline, percussion, etc. ripped from a song to generate AI versions of any of the aforementioned things. So a prompted or uploaded song generates AI versions of it. An uploaded melody generates AI versions of that melody. An uploaded bassline generates AI versions of that bassline. etc Maybe you could even prompt multiple of the things listed at the same time to generate an even more unique version of the same. For instance, the solo from 3 different songs to make one unique AI-generated amalgamation of the 3. Further, you could prompt something like " I want a baseline inspired by X song, melody inspired by other song X, and percussion inspired by X song, etc. How sick would it be to be able to give prompts like "give me Radiohead-style percussion and chords with a DeadMau5 electronic synth and melody" and get something incredible out of it. Or at least the basis of something that you make incredible. Prompting what band or artist you want your song or a particular aspect of your song to sound like - similar to AI art generators that let you name particular artists that you want your AI art modeled after - must already be in the works somewhere. Hopefully this and the other things I mentioned can become part of Scaler on some level.

My suggestions (two of which are similar to what you've mentioned) are; 1. Easier connectivity to the VI of your choice. 2. Toontrack EZKeys - like functionality. (Toontrack seem to have abandoned any development of EZKeys but I still use it a lot as a starting point before porting over the midi to Scaler). 3. Some kind of Divisi functionality (although I have and use Divisimate).

I agree about the built in sounds, I'm less concerned about the CPU load than the download size. As they keep adding sounds to it's playback the file size of the installer keeps growing. At least make it so the plug in installer is separate from the sound installer so as updates are released we're not downloading a ton of sample library in addition to a plug in update. An unload all sounds would be nice however. With your last suggestion, what you describe kinda sounds like Instachord and Instascale from WA Productions. It would be nice to have that all inside scaler however. Or maybe a new plug in from the scaler folks that has that ability but can be linked together to instances of Scaler in your project. I use all the Insta series plug in along side scaler now but you spend a lot of time getting all the various tools into the same key and such.

Hi mister .... 1. Not so much regarding the technical information, but I recently had some display concerns that I eventually linked to the "OPENGL" settings, which are slightly difficult to locate. It may be a good idea if the designers positioned the option within the UI "Settings" section, listed under the "Session" column, where it could be easily turned off. 2. It would also be better if the "Chord Charts" that appear from the guitar settings could be a floating window, because when positioned on the UI, it hides Section B almost completely. 3. Although I personally use "Tone2" for display purposes, a standalone version would be highly welcome. Thoroughly enjoying your channel ..... may you have a very Happy New Year!!
