@@nvcn86 You must be young. xP People don't see "youtubers" as anything trustworthy. It's like if someone tells you "Hi. I use facebook and warn my friends about scammers." None of that makes me sound trustworthy. You don't know me, or the people who follow me. I could be pulling a prank. You might ask me: "How do you know an elderly lady is going to come here soon." Then I'd have to explain how I hacked into a scammers telephone call. Now you shouldn't trust me at all, because you would either think: "Think this guy could be hacking me!" or "'Hacker' my ass. You're just trying to look cool, aren't you?" Even after this, if I was in their shoes, I'd still say: "Yeah, sure, sounds great. I'll keep an eye open, whatever. Good luck with your videos." And I'd be slightly annoyed it wasn't a customer, and I definitely don't want people calling that phone when a customer is trying to call. Know that most grown-ups and elderly still don't have the slightest idea how hacking works. So just by phoning them and telling them you're a hacker might make them think that you somehow hacked their telephone. "Get out of my telephone!" xD But I know how you feel. In the past I never understood how the truth could leave people suspicious. And even though he is a private investigator, I agree that it doesn't sound reassuring either. Even as an auto mechanic because I was expected to know how to run the register I had to take the scam training. I know in a lot of these videos they are always pushing for thousands in cards from a single store, but you'll get people coming in wanting 3 $200 cards for google play, or walmart, even Xbox and PlayStation. After you see a couple people (usually pointed out by more experienced employees) in the process of trying to buy cards for scammers, it become readily apparent when someone is being scammed. There is almost always a certain look of panic and urgency on their face. That red flag goes up 10x if they are on the phone while trying to checkout. The sad part is, most of the time when you try to ask questions about who they are for, why they are buying this much, if they want another card instead because it's better, etc. they get defensive and sometimes angry. Well, we don't know that they didn't take it seriously.. the thing is they maybe didn't feel like they could have much conversation because it goes way ouside their job description and they could get in trouble if e.g. it was a scammer calling them.. so they might have just spoken to their manager straight away. People don't always have the best response on the spot. Also they are aware of people buying gift cards so they probably already had procedures in place. They didn't need to give personal info about the person to the guy on the phone. It seemed like they might not take it seriously, but was hard to say 'cos they weren't communicating much.

I think you hating the female scammer the most doesn't really have anything to do with you also being female, but instead because of her stuck-up attitude. Acting like her "customer" was beneath her and not worth her time. The way she acted was like she thought she was the one having to go out of her way to help a person that didn't deserve it. Like the victim wasn't showing enough apreciation for the hard work she was doing. The way she wasn't even trying to act like a proper support employee and just started making annoying noises the moment things didn't go exactly her way. I've heard quite a few scammers talking like this. They are trying to mimic an American accent but just end up sounding like a robot.

Thank you for helping these seniors who are being abused. It hurts my heart that this woman can barely walk and is crying! 🥺🥺😡

I admire your work and being modest when helping victims. Huge respect! All TV channels should be making programs on scammers. Every grandma should know how to protect herself from scammers

I’ve had to resort to sitting my grandparents down and explain to them how these scammers work. Anytime they have an “Amazon representative” or anything similar to that, they just straight up call me and have me talk to them. Hearing the change of tone in the scammers voice as soon as I’m talking to them gives me life

The fact that the scammer was referring to those victims as "customers" infuriates me.

These scammers are disgusting. My heart broke for that old lady who started crying. Glad the store staff finally caught on.

I just can't believe the scammer calls the person they are trying to rob "a customer". Thanks Scambaiter, I'm glad you are putting your amazing skills to good use. You are worthy enough to subscribe to. 👏👑

The old lady Mary almost killed me on how ruthless these scammers can be. I'm happy that the manager listened and stopped it. I think every store that carries gift cards should have a warning scammer sign so the people can at least read it before buying. Keep up the great work and shut them all down.

I think in general, store clerk should always check in with customers buying gift cards why exactly they're buying gift cards.
@MrLTiger2 жыл бұрын
Most big stores do have warnings over gift card sections. Nobody reads them.

Honestly, yes, they should put warning signs around the giftcard sections.

What I don't understand is why not just tell people that they can call or contact Amazon's own customer service to check their purchases or transactions, or even call their bank and see how much money they have?

I was ready to curse the manager of the shop after they didn't seem like they were going to do anything but was really relieved when they stepped in and put a stop to the scamming of the elderly lady.

Just like the victims have no idea that scamming is a real thing, people probably don't know that scam prevention is a real thing. You do because you watch these videos.

Thank you for going after these crooks. It's heartbreaking knowing they go after senior citizens who are already struggling with hard times and medical situations. I was also taken advantage of, and know how it feels to lose thousands of dollars to someone I thought I could trust.

Like many other commenters, I happy the manager of the store helped this older lady prevent being scammed out of her money! On the flip side, using the scammers details to fill out the refund form was priceless! Pure comedic and gold! Love it.
