Thank you both for doing this interview! It got me to call my comic shop to put Absolute Batman in my saver. I appreciated Scott’s insight into DC’s “All-In” initiative. The branding of it didn’t make it quite clear what it was. But now I have a better understanding of it’s goals. Looking forward to seeing where Scott takes this new version of Batman and his world!

What a great interview! Thanks so much to you and Scott Snyder. I'll definitely get the All In Special. As for Absolute... I'm not committing to the series just yet, but I'll get Absolute Batman #1 to see what it's like. I might check out Absolute Wonder Woman, because of Kelly Thompson's impressive work on the Scarlet series. As for Absolute Superman, maybe... Superman's my favorite character, so I'm not sure about any dark re-imaginings. But it would be weird to get two out three #1s... I'll probably make the final decision on that one in the store.

16:03 Scott, i'm a life long comicbook reader and still do so now. Please, don't mix up comicsbooks... With comicbook movies.. Comicbook movies are a phad, those are big now, because the people watching those have never held a comicbook and are in awe about how cool and amazing these characters are. Meanwhile we have knows this for all of our lives. Comicbooks are better, they don't need an MCU or a DCEU or what ever else silly abreviation they come up with, because reading takes to much time for their little brains. It doesn't matter if WB / DC can't make it with movies based on their characters, Those books kick ass and that's what counts for the reader base. I haven't spent money on a comicbook movie or tv show since end game, and i will never again. Meanwhile i have 10 titles in my monthly pull list of both DC and Marvel combined. We don't need those movies man, let it go. comics are way more fun and worth my money.

Maybe it's good and i'll probably buy it, but i don't think i need an absolute Batman. Ever since Morrison's great Batman run i'm waiting for a writer to give me some ordinary Batman stories. Just Batman fighting and solving crime. Catching low life scum, rich bastards and classic villains. But new writers always want their turn at their ultimate Batman story and are really putting him through the wringer. Give me some O'Neil/Adams or Moench/Jonen stories please.

You constantly interrupting him when he's on the verge of answering your question or providing new information he didn't cover in other interviews to rudely reframe the exact question you just asked TOOK ME OUT OF THIS. Usually love your content, absolutely hated this interview, absolutely unbearable. Even more egregious was your constant shift in conversation in the middle of him talking, you can see it wear down on Scott in his facial expressions.

@@nicklindsey3099 I'm not advocating for Scott to monologue the entire time, I'm talking about how he was clearly interrupted in the MIDDLE of answering the literal question he was asked or halted in the middle of conversation to abruptly transition topics, which was very rude and fucked up the flow of this interview. Ok, I am aware superheroes will always hold someone’s interest and the writers and the artists are hired to make superhero content. But , generally speaking, how much superhero content is too much? And why always some alternative worlds , alterations? Personally I think superhero genre has reached so much saturation in culture that it’s just something there should be less of

I partly agree with that but imo there is a large selection of all kinds of comics out there. You can just pick whatever you wanna read and ignore the superhero ones if you want to.

@@redhaze7663Superhero comic books are an endangered species thanks to the over saturation caused by the MCU. Add the terrible management at WBD that will surely result in a split or massive folding of most divisions and, yes, it’s pretty safe to say this is the chronicle of DC Comics’ death. And don’t play the “DC Studios” cart. That Superman movie is gonna be cringe and meme fuel. The worst part is that I really like DC characters more than Marvel, but today the path both companies have taken with the printed part of their businesses, makes it really hard to be a fan and don’t feel ashamed about it.

I'm crying, saying something as stupid and reactionary as "activist writers" shows a fundamental lack of understanding and familiarity with a medium that has been used for decades to explore politics, as all art does. You clearly haven't read much if you'd say something this silly.
@bigdaddy06143 ай бұрын
Let's be honest. It's gonna yet another failed reboot. I'm sorry but DC (and Marvel) keep burying themselves deeper and deeper. They've never bounced back since the failure of New 52. Rebirth tried and showed glimmers of a return to goodness.. At alas the constant pandering to the far left and catering their books to an audience that isn't even buying their books has proven to be a failure. The constant need to push Corporate Diversity Quotas (aka "Tokenism") has turned away old fans and failed to reach new readers. The LGBT crowd along with women and minorities were happy with DC. They didn't need you to pander to them. They know when corporations are just pushing political pandering.

I’m new to getting single DC issues and my first series was the Dawn of DC Hawkgirl book. I absolutely loved it and I’m definitely going to be buying more from DC going forward. If you think that I wasn’t ecstatic to learn there was a trans character in that book, then you had better guess again. I’ve read a bunch of old trades and collected issues of Marvel and DC, but I had never seen a character I connected to in that specific way. In fact, at the time I didn’t even know any queer people in real life. Reading that series helped me feel less alone and afraid all the time. I know that might sound hyperbolic, but if you’ve never felt that level of isolation, I just don’t know that you would get it. I would really encourage you to consider and approach new perspectives. I well and truly believe that you lose a valuable part of your humanity when you refuse to learn and grow. I don’t want that for you or anyone else. I want us to get along and I want us all to have comics that can appeal to us. I’ll be praying for you, God bless!
