In Gen II, OHKO moves automatically fail if the target has a higher level than the user. Their accuracy starts at 76/256 (approximately 30%) and increases by 2/256 (approximately 0.8%) for each level the user is above the target. This means that if the user's level is 90 levels greater than the target's, the move will have 100% accuracy. An X Accuracy will guarantee that all OHKO moves hit. The accuracy of OHKO moves in Generation II is affected by the standard accuracy and evasion stats.

Ah yes. Gligar. Another forgotten Pokemon before it gained an evolution. And, another “Venomoth” in the list. You think it is Poison/Flying at first glance. But, nope. Ground/Flying. Granted, they are pseudo Poison type nowadays that both Gligar and Gliscor are “immune” to Poison thanks to their Hidden Abilities. Speaking of which, both Gligar and Gliscor are annoying walls. With the former being immune to Toxic and pack beeeg bulk thanks to Eviolite, while the latter is one of the most annoying stall machines in the series that isn’t even Chansey levels of bulk (Granted, Gliscor can be an offensive menace at the same time).

The best memories of Gligar for me was on one of those battle emulator things. People always went for Thunderbolt against Gligar for some reason...

I'd support a redo of this run where you use a Gligar bred to have the Egg Move Wing Attack, like other comments brought up! 3:39 Venomoth avoids Mud-Slap tactics? 7:58 I'd support seeing a Snubbul/Granbull run! 20:15 Why is there a Steel-type image over Venomoth? 21:08 Lucky! 24:30 Wow, Red already. Decent run video! Thanks for uploading!

I'll find a way to incorperate these egg/event moves in other videos ;) Maybe one day I'll do Gligar again with them.

@@ScottsThoughtsPokemon Thanks for a response about that, at least! Good luck with your future runs!

3:37 - To be fair, Faulkner's Pokemon only use Mud-Slap if it is Super-effective, and sometimes not even then! His Pidgeyotto will use Gust on Fire types because it does more damage than Mud-Slap.

Gligar was the first shiny I found aside from the Red Gyarados, and since then I have only found 1 other shiny which was a Mienfoo. I'm thoroughly amazed at how few shinies I have encountered but I will always remember Gligar from my first play of Silver back when it came out.

Gligars hidden power does 70*1.5 damage from stab=105. Return is 102 base power due to friendship, so hidden power would be better

Return gets badge boost from Whitney’s badge. So it is 12.5% more powerful. Ground moves need the earthbadge.

I love Gen 2, but the Gen 4 evolutions really did save them from being completely not used

Here's how you do the Snubbull run: do it as part of a race. Keep both emulator windows open at the same time. Then, whenever your girlfriend walks in, switch to the other playthrough.

STAB hidden power always does more damage than return against Pryce's pokemon.
