This thing was INSANE! A friend called us for a pickup on some old equipment, but first we had to make some space. After processing a bunch of scrap that had piled up and cashing out a quick steel run, we loaded up this giant metal tank that BARELY fit in the truck! Check it out and find out how much we made.
Wire stripper I use: amzn.to/3sirg18
The motorized stripper: amzn.to/3y0JMuQ
The wire cutters I like: amzn.to/2T6j3OW
This is the cheaper version: amzn.to/2SwrYsB
And here are those grips I recommend: amzn.to/2QCJmYl
(If you make a purchase on amazon through the links above, a small amount of what amazon makes on the sale is shared with me. It's a great way to help support my channel, at no additional cost to you. Even if you buy something other than my tool recommendations!)
Please like/share this video if you enjoyed it, and subscribe to thubprint!

Didn't take the time to read through all the comments, so this might've been said already. Whenever you have a forklift loading into a truck bed, remove the tailgate. The tiniest bump from the lift could mess them up pretty bad, plus it makes it easier for them to load clear to the front of the bed on the first approach.

9:10 those are called crimpers. The banding goes around the pallet and a clip goes around the banding. Once the stretcher gets the banding tight, the crimper basically smashes the clip holding the banding in place.

Hey man I just did my first scrapping trip on trash day around the neighborhood. Wife and I got a new working $200 air fryer & a working $80 toy for our kid. Also got like 150lbs of scrap which I'm taking the motors out of to melt the copper down for my new ingot making hobby! Thanks for the tips and motivation!

I spend days sorting fixing cleaning and selling a few junk loads and then go to the landfill with just the most broken garbage left over. When i get to the bins and look in its filled with so much useful stuff, metal, copper pipes, electronics, beautiful furniture etc. I can only do so much and then my space fills to capacity and i have to make hard choices and just start tossing

It's a delicate balance between what to keep and what to scrap. If your goal is to scrap as much as possible, you'll hardly have any time to sell. If your goal is to make as much money as possible, it's a lot harder a decision. At some point you have to say "I'm not even going to go pick up that load, because I'm busy cleaning/responding to kijiji buyers." Or, choosing to have less room for scrap, as you wait for stuff to sell. Scrapping is definitely the simplest, but, often not the best solution. Waiting for something to not sell in the end is going to feel deflating, getting the easy money now is always rewarding. Always tradeoffs, and making good choices about what to sell and what to scrap is the real skill.
@thubprint
@thubprint 2 жыл бұрын
That’s an excellent summary and I like that a lot. I think that’s why I felt guilty/dumb scrapping those two big items, I knew the value was great enough that reselling them was the right choice

i'm like you, one man operation, living in a house, and stuff piles up pretty quick, have to keep the property looking neat and clean or the neighbors could call the county and wreck my side gig, so i have to move it as fast as i get it, selling stuff just isn't an option, even tho as we all know, it's more money... but i joke with people, "i'm not amazon, don't have the space or the time..." for now.

I'm 38yrs and my whole life my Dad always scrap metal he would save up a the scrap aluminum from all the jobs a doing siding was easy to do so. Which today everyone is doing it and when there was a time you would see all kinda scrap on the curb for the trash. Now you can look into the phone book and you'll see free junk removal or free appliance pickup etc. Plus we would do window ac units also time to time. I had a blessing back in 2010 - 2012 a friend of mine worked for a HVAC co. and he gave me all the units for scrap well where I'm from you had to be licensed to scrap ac and copper have to wait too get paid but I was takin the coils plus all the extras across state line and get paid for ac units. A good ac company that has over ten trucks the guys was just dumping them behind there shop then I got fwith by the law seen me behind the shop after hours lucky me I had a document statement from that company. I mean just the summer I begin off of couple of units I scraped then I had a landscaping business going too so I would just start saving them and I calmed self employment on my taxes those yrs between grass cutting and scraping I made a pretty damn good mint . As I said now look in the yellow pages you'll see junk men all in listings , I still wish that I did so , It was before competition was around and going too jail for dumpster diving that's a problem for the scrap scene so stay safe stay off private property just don't do anything that's going get you in jail. He those ads are worth it long term.Heavy Metal is what we want
